Penambahan Uncaria Gambir meningkatkan kemampuan bioplastik dalam menghalangi sinar ultraviolet, dengan transmitansi pada panjang gelombang 200, 250, 300, 350, dan 400 nm berkurang dari 23.02%, 21.27%, 24.49%, 20.63%, dan 23.92% menjadi 17.77%, 14.26%, 15.29%, 10.96%, dan 7.75%. Absorbansi UV-C adalah 0.6195 A (PVA) dan 0.6355 A (PVA/CNF). Tanin dan katekin dalam Uncaria Gambir menurunkan transmitansi dengan menyerap cahaya. Warna coklat kehitaman disebabkan oleh pigmen antosianin dan flavonoid, sesuai dengan penelitian sebelumnya, dengan hasil diatas bioplastik ini cukup memiliki kekuatan dan ketahanan sebagai bioplastik pengalang UV yang mumpuni. The tannins and catechins in Uncaria Gambir reduce transmittance by absorbing light. The dark brown color is caused by anthocyanin and flavonoid pigments, consistent with previous studies, With the above results, it is hoped that it can produce bioplastics that have strength and durability as qualified UV pengalang bioplastics.
