Abstract

This study aimed to determine the post-thawing spermatozoa quality of Holstein-Friesian (HF) bulls at different ages. The samples were HF frozen semen of 3, 5, and 8-years -old age group produced by the Singosari National Artificial Insemination Center.  Nine samples of each group were randomly purposive sampling, thawed in 37ºC water for 15 seconds, and assessed on the percentage of viability, motility, and abnormality of spermatozoa. The obtained data were analyzed using the ANOVA method, followed by Duncan's multiple range test at a 95% confidence level. The result showed that post-thawing spermatozoa viability in 5 and 8-year-old HF bull were 67 ± 6.67%, and 78 ± 7.59, both were higher (p <0.05) compared to 62.78 ± 5.76% in HF bulls 3-yearsold group. Likewise, the motility of those bull aged 5 and 8 years (69.44 ± 6.82 and 65.00 ± 9.68%, respectively) were higher (p <0.05) compared to 55, 56 ± 5.83% in 3-year-old HF bull. Meanwhile, the percentage of post-thawing spermatozoa abnormalities in the three age groups were 4.33 ± 1.96%, 5.89 ± 1.90%, and 5.33 ± 1.41%, not significantly different (p> 0.05) respectively. It concluded that the best quality of post-thawing HF semen based on the percentage of viability, motility, and morphologic abnormality was collected from 5-8 years old bull. Nevertheless, spermatozoa from the three age goups still meet the Indonesia standard quality of frozen semen for artificial insemination.

Abstract

Waqf, as an instrument of Islamic philanthropy, has great potential in developing a sharia-based economy. In the Indonesian context, waqf can be used as a source of Muslim funds that can assist in managing waqf assets. Even though Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world, waqf management in Indonesia is still low. Singapore, as a country with a Muslim minority, has demonstrated the ability to utilize waqf funds optimally and productively. This research compares the regulation and management of waqf in Indonesia and Singapore with the aim of improving waqf management in Indonesia. The results of this research show that waqf regulations in Indonesia are contained in Law Number 41 of 2004 and Government Regulation Number 42 of 2006, while in Singapore they are contained in the Administration of Muslim Law Act (AMLA) Number 27 of 1966. In the development of productive waqf in Singapore, the istibdal method is used to increase the value and productivity of waqf assets. The Management of waqf in Singapore entrusted to the Islamic Assembly of Singapore (MUIS) and WAREES Investment Pte Ltd (Waqaf Real Estate Singapore) to manage endowment funds in Singapore. Management in the development of productive waqf in Singapore uses the istibdal method which is applied in various forms. Therefore, the role of regulations in implementing waqf management must have an impact on the development of waqf in a country, so that waqf becomes one of the instruments of Islamic philanthropy that can be used as a source of funds for Muslims who are able to encourage the economic progress of a country and improve the welfare of society.

Abstract

Problems in the COVID-19 pandemic era for cows cattle farmers were limited skills of farmers in processing of feed without forage in order to reduce production costs and anticipate prolonged droughts. The government's steps to overcome these problems are by providing business capital assistance, deferring loan payments, and assisting cows cattle farmers. The Regional Superior Product Development Program (RSPD) aims to determine the increase in body weight of various types of cattle using feed without forage and growth promoters in the COVID-19 pandemic era of SMEs of cows cattle fattening. Data was collected by interview/questionnaire methods and making feed without forage, growth promoter, and fermentor. The feed from RSPD was applied to five types of cows cattle (local cattle, ongole crossbreeds, madura cattle, limousin crossbreeds and Simmental crossbreeds). This activity was carried out from February until June 2021. The results showed that farmers skill in making feed without forage, growth promoters, and fermenters has been improved and also type of cows cattle with good weight gain has been determined. In conclusion, the production of feed without forage, growth promoters, and fermentor in the COVID-19 pandemic era could be done by the cattle farmers independently. Limousin and Simmental crossbreeds had good weight gain compared to local cattle, ongole crossbreeds and madura cattle.

Abstract

Abstract

The interaction between Islamic law and local wisdom among the Muslim community of Banjar in South Kalimantan reflects the significant dynamics of living Islamic law within the framework of legal pluralism in Indonesia. The mu‘amalah practices developed in this community are not limited to the application of normative fiqh alone, but are brought to life through cultural expressions and oral traditions, such as barelaan, tukar jual, jual lah seadanya, and bawa ja dulu, which serve a dual role as ṣīghat al-‘aqd and as social devices for upholding the principles of voluntariness, openness, honesty, and justice. This study aims to trace the forms, meanings, and mechanisms of integrating the principles of fiqh mu‘āmalah into the customary order, as well as to assess its contribution to the discourse on living law and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. A qualitative approach within a phenomenological framework is used. Research data were collected through participatory observation in traditional markets, interviews with local scholars, customary leaders, and traders. The results reveal that local scholars play a strategic role as mediators who interpret and adapt customary practices to align with the principles of Sharia. This process gives rise to a living legal system that is deeply rooted in social legitimacy and endowed with moral authority recognized by the community. From a theoretical perspective, this study broadens the understanding of legal pluralism through a model of reciprocal interaction between Islamic customary law, fiqh mu‘āmalah, and positive law, while enriching the discourse on maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, particularly in the dimension of ḥifẓ al-māl, which is preventing loss and fostering blessings through social practices based on community trust and ethics.
