Abstract

Differentiated learning is a learning strategy that emphasizes the importance of the process of adjusting learning strategies that can meet the needs of each student with various ability backgrounds, especially in Elementary Schools. Differentiated learning recognizes that each student has a different learning style, learning speed, and interests. At the elementary school level, where students are actively developing their various abilities and potentials, this approach is very important to implement so that it can ensure that each student can learn optimally and achieve their best potential. This study aims to review various existing literature on the effect of implementing differentiated learning in elementary schools for the 2020-2024 period by analyzing 10 articles that have been published in relevant journals using Harzing's Publish or Perish and Google Scholar applications. Each article was analyzed and the results of the analysis were arranged in a table that included the title, author's name, year of publication, and research findings. The results of the analysis showed that differentiated learning was able to increase participation motivation and student learning outcomes with quite significant results compared to learning with conventional methods. This can be seen from several studies that show an increase in cognitive abilities and student learning outcomes. This study recommends ongoing training for teachers related to the implementation of differentiated learning with effective and efficient time management, as well as collaboration between all parties such as parents and learning communities, as well as the use of technology as an integral part of efforts to create a more inclusive and student-centered learning environment, especially in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study highlights the importance of differentiated learning in the context of Generation Z who have unique characteristics, such as critical thinking, desire for quick feedback, and technology literacy. Differentiated learning aims to meet individual learning needs by modifying four main components: content, process, product, and learning environment. Analysis of history teachers in Central Java Province shows that although most teachers have implemented some aspects of differentiated learning, there are obstacles in relevant and effective evaluation and assessment. To address this, a training program has been implemented to improve teacher competency in developing adaptive assessments, both formative and summative. The results of the training showed an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in implementing the principles of differentiated learning that are more inclusive and equitable.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital technology-based interactive learning media on cognitive enhancement in elementary education, thereby providing actionable insights to optimize teaching practices in the digital era. Employing a systematic literature review adapted from the PRISMA framework, the study conducted a structured search across three databases (Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar) and identified 26 eligible articles that met predefined inclusion criteria related to digital technology use and quantitative cognitive outcome measures in elementary settings. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis, a systematic method for categorizing, quantifying, and synthesizing textual data to identify patterns, frequencies, and relationships across the included studies. The results revealed that digital technology integration positively impacts cognitive learning outcomes, with video and animation-based approaches being most prevalent (26.92%), followed by virtual/augmented reality, interactive applications, and educational games (19.23% each). The most significant advancements were observed in problem-solving and spatial reasoning skills, particularly when technologies incorporated constructivist principles, interactive engagement strategies, adaptive feedback mechanisms, and collaborative opportunities. This review confirms digital technology's effectiveness in enhancing elementary students' cognitive learning while emphasizing the importance of pedagogical approach and technology design; stakeholders should prioritize models that foster meaningful technology interactions emphasizing student empowerment, while future research should explore long-term cognitive effects and address limitations in study design heterogeneity and generalizability across diverse contexts.

Abstract

Learning done by teachers is still conventional and minimal in the use of concrete learning media. So this study aims to examine the effectiveness of using manipulative media in improving math learning outcomes, especially in the material of adding fractions with different denominators in elementary schools. The method used is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through a literature search on Google Scholar, with the criteria of relevant articles, accessible in fulltext, and published in the last six years (2018-2024). Of the 20 articles found, 6 of them were analyzed further because they had a direct relationship with the research topic. The results of the analysis showed that the use of manipulative media, whether in the form of paper, blocks, or transparent mica, proved effective in improving students' concept understanding and learning outcomes. This finding is reinforced by the significant increase in students' learning evaluation scores in various studies. Therefore, manipulative media is recommended as an alternative for interactive and meaningful learning in teaching mathematics at the primary school level.

Abstract

Natural Science (IPA) learning in Elementary Schools plays an important role in building the foundation of scientific thinking and students' science process skills. However, conventional and teacher-centered learning practices often hinder students' conceptual understanding and learning independence. This study aims to analyze the influence of the Discovery Learning model on conceptual understanding and learning independence in science learning in Elementary Schools. The method used is a systematic literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach to a number of relevant scientific articles. The results of the study show that Discovery Learning is consistently able to improve conceptual understanding through exploration, observation, and conclusion activities, and encourage learning independence through active student involvement in the learning process. This model also supports the development of critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative (4C) thinking skills. Despite implementation challenges, such as time constraints and teacher readiness, Discovery Learning remains an effective and relevant approach to be applied in science learning in the Merdeka Curriculum era. This study provides theoretical and practical contributions in efforts to improve the quality of active, meaningful, and student-centered science learning.
