Abstract

his study aimed to develop trilingual smartbook media, to determine the feasibility of the trilingual smartbook, and to determine students' responses to trilingual smartbook. This research was conducted on 10 students at grade III of elementary school in a limited trial. This research utilized the Borg and Gall model which consisted of six stages, namely problem analysis, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, and limited product trial. The instruments were a questionnaire sheet for product validation by expert lecturers and a questionnaire sheet for students' responses. Based on the analysis, the quality of the trilingual smartbook was categorized as very feasible with a percentage of 91% by two media experts, very feasible with a percentage of 92% by two material experts, and a feasible category with a percentage of 80% by two linguists. Moreover, the students' response to the trilingual smartbook was 96% with a very good category. Based on this, it can be said that the trilingual smartbook is appropriate to be used as a media of literacy facility for third grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Speaking skill refers to students’ ability to convey their ideas. This research employed a questionnaire method within an R&D design, supported by data collection through observation and interviews. The purpose of this study was to produce feasible (valid) local-wisdom–based finger puppet media for improving the speaking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Cikande Permai. This study used the R&D model proposed by Sugiyono (2010: 409), which consists of six steps: (1) problem analysis, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revision, and (6) product testing. The product was tested on one teacher and 10 fourth-grade students. The validation results from material experts reached 87%, from linguists 84%, and from media experts 83%, all of which were categorized as very feasible, indicating that the product could be used as learning media. Furthermore, field trials were conducted through students’ response questionnaires, yielding a score of 93.7% in the very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the local-wisdom–based finger puppet media is feasible for use in learning.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the development and feasibility of audiovisual learning videos based on the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach, as well as to assess the students' response to the audiovisual learning videos on the topic of food technology. The method used in this research is Research and Development (RnD) from Borg & Gall. This development only used 6 steps out of 10 steps, this is because researchers only conduct research at one educational institution (school) and see the limited time, effort, and costs of researchers. Product assessment for the feasibility test of contextual teaching and learning based audiovisual learning videos was carried out by 3 experts, namely a media expert, language expert, and subject matter expert with the target of limited-scale product trials, that are students of class IIIB MIN 1 Tangerang City, totaling 30 people. The results of the feasibility assessment after validation by the experts are as follows: (a) media validation scored 80%; (b) language validation scored 82%; and (c) subject matter validation scored 76.5%. Consequently, the overall feasibility score for the audiovisual learning videos was 79.5%, indicating that the videos are considered "Feasible." Thus, these learning videos can be utilized by students to enhance the learning process by involving illustrations from the surrounding environment in the topic of food production technology. Furthermore, the students' response to the audiovisual learning videos based on CTL, as assessed through the product trial in Grade III B at MIN 1 Kota Tangerang, obtained a questionnaire response percentage of 90.6%, falling into the category of "Excellent." The survey results demonstrate that the students are enthusiastic about the learning process using the contextual video learning media.

This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, where the research subjects consisted of fifth grade students, the principal, and the local content teacher of Bantenese Javanese, which involved interviews, observations, and documentation for data collection. The data obtained were analyzed systematically through three main stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, to obtain an accurate picture and in accordance with the real conditions in the school. Furthermore, the data were tested for validity using credibility, transferability, dependability, and certainty testing techniques. The results of the study indicate that the description of Bantenese speaking and writing skills can improve regional language skills in fifth grade students, they are already capable and are at the development stage. With the support and attention from schools, parents, and the surrounding environment, the use of Bantenese Javanese among students is slowly increasing, so that it can preserve culture and ensure that regional languages continue to exist and do not become extinct, as well as forming students who are polite and courteous.

Abstract

During the learning process, teachers do not modify their teaching methods enough and do not utilize creative, innovative, interactive, and engaging learning media. Consequently, students are less motivated and their cognitive learning outcomes in Indonesian subjects decline. Therefore, there needs to be learning media that supports the learning process. Therefore, researchers decided to use Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media with the TANDUR method (grow, experience, name, demonstrate, repeat, and celebrate) in the learning process. This research and development aims to develop Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media, especially in Indonesian subjects, namely the Sehatlah Ragaku material, to describe the feasibility level of Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media developed to measure student understanding after using Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media. Research this study was conducted at SDN Kragilan 6 in grade IV with 20 students consisting of 9 boys and 11 girls. The research method was R&D (Research and Development) using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The validation results from the learning material experts from both validators obtained an average percentage of 90.5%, meeting the criteria of "Very Appropriate". The results of the validation of learning language experts from both validators got an average percentage of 87.5% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate. The results of the validation of media experts from both validators got an average percentage of 87.3% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate". The overall average percentage of validators got a percentage of 88% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate". The increase in understanding of cognitive learning outcomes of students got a percentage of 85.5% which is included in the category of "Very Good", as well as the average results of cognitive learning tests of 0.72 that the increase in the average value of students is included in the high category because N-gain is in the interval of N-gain> 0.7. If we pay attention to the results of the N-gain test, the increase in cognitive understanding in students after studying the material is already at a high level.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning process, teacher strategies, and instructional activities related to early reading skills in Indonesian language learning for first-grade students at SDN Kalideres 14 Petang. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that in the planning phase, teachers develop teaching modules tailored to learning outcomes, student needs, and the current curriculum. Instructional strategies involve four key components, teaching materials, methods, media, and learning resources, selected based on diagnostic assessments and student characteristics. Learning activities are carried out in a gradual and interactive manner using contextual approaches that incorporate images, songs, games, and the surrounding environment to enhance student motivation and comprehension. The learning process covers five indicators of early reading skills: recognizing letters, reading meaningful and non-meaningful words, reading aloud with comprehension, and listening to texts. This research is expected to serve as a reference for educators and future researchers in improving early reading instruction at the elementary level.
