Abstract

During the learning process, teachers do not modify their teaching methods enough and do not utilize creative, innovative, interactive, and engaging learning media. Consequently, students are less motivated and their cognitive learning outcomes in Indonesian subjects decline. Therefore, there needs to be learning media that supports the learning process. Therefore, researchers decided to use Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media with the TANDUR method (grow, experience, name, demonstrate, repeat, and celebrate) in the learning process. This research and development aims to develop Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media, especially in Indonesian subjects, namely the Sehatlah Ragaku material, to describe the feasibility level of Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media developed to measure student understanding after using Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media. Research this study was conducted at SDN Kragilan 6 in grade IV with 20 students consisting of 9 boys and 11 girls. The research method was R&D (Research and Development) using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The validation results from the learning material experts from both validators obtained an average percentage of 90.5%, meeting the criteria of "Very Appropriate". The results of the validation of learning language experts from both validators got an average percentage of 87.5% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate. The results of the validation of media experts from both validators got an average percentage of 87.3% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate". The overall average percentage of validators got a percentage of 88% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate". The increase in understanding of cognitive learning outcomes of students got a percentage of 85.5% which is included in the category of "Very Good", as well as the average results of cognitive learning tests of 0.72 that the increase in the average value of students is included in the high category because N-gain is in the interval of N-gain> 0.7. If we pay attention to the results of the N-gain test, the increase in cognitive understanding in students after studying the material is already at a high level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Bantenese-based children's literature as a medium for Indonesian language learning in elementary schools through a literature study approach. Children's literature that integrates local values, including Bantenese culture, has great potential in improving the quality of contextual, meaningful learning, and is oriented towards building students' character. The method used is a literature study by reviewing various scientific sources in the form of journals, books, and relevant research results published in the last ten years. The results of the study indicate that the use of Bantenese-based children's literature can improve students' language skills, especially in the aspects of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. In addition, this approach also strengthens local cultural identity and instills moral values and character in students from an early age. Bantenese-based children's literature provides a more contextual learning experience because it links learning materials to students' daily lives. Other findings indicate that the use of local folktales, legends, and traditions in Indonesian language learning can increase students' learning motivation and develop their imagination and creativity. Thus, Bantenese-based children's literature can be used as an alternative, innovative and effective learning medium in improving the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. The implications of this research are the need to develop teaching materials based on local culture and to improve teacher competency in integrating children's literature into learning.

Abstract

Dysgraphia is a type of learning disorder that affects children’s writing abilities. Difficulties in writing can impact students’ psychological well-being, hinder their academic achievement, and interfere with their social skills. For children with dysgraphia who experience writing difficulties, verbal communication can be used as a means to express messages, opinions, and ideas. In addition, nonverbal communication can also be utilized when verbal communication skills are still limited. This study aimed to examine teachers’ lesson planning, the implementation and outcomes of two-way communication patterns among slow learners with dysgraphia during the learning process, as well as to identify the challenges and obstacles in such communication. The research employed a qualitative case study method. The subject of the study was a child with dysgraphia. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model. The findings showed that children with dysgraphia more frequently used nonverbal communication with teachers and classmates, such as clapping and nodding. However, they also used verbal communication, although their speech was not very loud.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of Bantenese folktales in improving elementary school students’ reading skills through a literature review approach. The focus of this study is on the utilization of folktales as part of local wisdom that contain educational, moral, and cultural values in Indonesian language learning. This research employs a literature review method by analyzing various relevant scientific sources, including journal articles, books, educational documents, and research studies related to folktales, reading literacy, and culture-based learning, particularly those published within the last ten years. The findings indicate that Bantenese folktales can enhance students’ reading interest due to their close connection with students’ social and cultural environments. In addition, folktales with simple plots, engaging characters, and easily understood moral messages are effective in improving students’ reading comprehension skills, especially in understanding text content and expanding vocabulary. Discussion and story interpretation activities also contribute to the development of students’ critical thinking skills. The integration of Bantenese folktales into classroom instruction not only improves reading skills but also strengthens students’ character formation, such as honesty, responsibility, cooperation, and appreciation of local culture. The main finding highlights that Bantenese folktales are more effective as contextual literacy media due to their cultural proximity to students compared to general reading materials. Teachers play an important role in selecting appropriate stories based on students’ developmental levels and implementing interactive learning strategies. Therefore, Bantenese folktales represent an effective, contextual, and culturally meaningful literacy learning medium that also supports the preservation of local culture in elementary education.
