Abstract

Twenty-first century learning requires students to possess scientific communication skills as an essential ability to understand and convey scientific concepts. However, these skills are still relatively low, so an appropriate learning model is needed. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on renewable energy content toward students’ scientific communication skills. This research employed a pre-experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design involving 33 tenth-grade students at SMAN 5 Palangka Raya. The instruments used were essay questions and assessment rubrics, and the data were analyzed descriptively and with N-Gain. The results indicated an increase in the average score from 45.55 to 66.27 with an N-Gain value of 0.37, categorized as moderate. Although some indicators showed only slight improvement, overall the conclusion is that the PBL model is effective in enhancing students’ scientific communication skills on renewable energy material.

Abstract

Education needs to enhance creative thinking skills, which are crucial in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. However, traditional teacher-centered learning strategies have proven ineffective in fostering these skills, especially in challenging subjects like physics. The use of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) has been shown to improve students' creative thinking skills in physics education. This study aims to explore the impact of PjBL on students' creative thinking skills across various indicators in physics education by synthesizing findings from related research. The study employs a meta-analysis method, collecting empirical data using Google Scholar through Harzing’s Publish or Perish 8 and Mendeley reference management software. The search yielded 28 articles from 2014-2024, with 13 articles meeting the inclusion criteria and providing sufficient data to calculate effect size. The results show an effect size of 1.03 (high). The effect size interpretation indicates that PjBL has an 84% impact on students' creative thinking skills. Additionally, 19 research articles observed creative thinking indicators influenced by PjBL, with elaboration being the highest and flexibility the lowest. It is concluded that the application of the PjBL model significantly affects students' creative thinking skills in physics education.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the student's responses to physics handouts based on android as a learning media on the topic of alternating current (AC). Data were collected by questionnaires to describe as quantitative descriptive research. The data were described in a rating scale as in the Likert Scale obtained from the provision of 25 questions that were distributed to students privately. According to the result, the average assessment showed a percentage of 82.32% in the excellent category. So, the implications suggested that physics handouts based on android had received a good response based on the questionnaires and have been valid as a learning media.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas bacaan Al-Qur’an mahasiswa IAIN Palangka Raya melalui pembinaan metode Tilawati dalam program BMQ (Bimbingan Membaca Al-Qur’an). Selama tiga bulan, pembinaan dilakukan secara intensif dua kali seminggu, baik secara luring maupun daring. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam aspek makhraj huruf, tajwid, irama bacaan, serta kelancaran dan kefasihan membaca. Mahasiswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dan merasa terbantu oleh metode yang awalnya ditujukan untuk anak-anak, namun berhasil diadaptasi bagi kalangan dewasa. Kegiatan ini selaras dengan tujuan program BMQ, memberikan kontribusi strategis terhadap penguatan literasi Qur’ani di perguruan tinggi, serta membuka peluang pembinaan berkelanjutan dan replikasi ke lingkup yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Developing students’ problem-solving skills is a central aim of modern science education, yet many learners continue to struggle when applying physics concepts to authentic situations. In Indonesia, this challenge remains urgent, as national and international assessments consistently highlight gaps in higher-order thinking and reasoning. Responding to this need, the present study sought to investigate the effectiveness of a problem-based learning (PBL)–based electronic module (e-module) designed around Polya’s four problem-solving stages in improving high school students’ abilities in the static fluid topic. Using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design, the study involved 28 students who completed validated pretest and posttest instruments aligned with Polya’s framework. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially through the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, normalized gain (N-gain), and Cohen’s d effect size. The results showed a clear increase in mean scores from 47.91 on the pretest to 73.11 on the posttest, with all four indicators: understanding the problem, planning solutions, implementing strategies, and evaluating outcomes. The Wilcoxon test confirmed statistically significant improvements for all participants, with an effect size of 1.971 indicating a very large practical impact. These findings demonstrate that integrating PBL with structured digital scaffolding can meaningfully enhance students’ problem-solving skills. The novelty of this research lies in adapting Polya’s classic model into an interactive e-module format and embedding it within PBL to promote inquiry and reflection. Overall, the study contributes to physics education by providing evidence that digital PBL resources can narrow performance gaps and foster deeper, more equitable learning outcomes in line with 21st-century educational demands.

Abstract

The digital transformation era requires university students to develop digital literacy competencies that not only support academic activities but also serve as essential capital for entering the workforce and pursuing entrepreneurship. One relevant professional platform to enhance career readiness is LinkedIn, which serves as a medium for both personal branding and professional networking. This community service aimed to improve students’ digital literacy and career readiness through mentoring sessions on LinkedIn account optimization. The program involved the students from the English Education (TBI) and Physics Education (TFS) study programs at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Palangka Raya, comprising prospective teachers and professionals across various disciplines. The implementation was carried out through tutorials and direct mentoring in two sessions, covering account creation, developing professional headlines and summaries, adding skills and experiences, and uploading simple portfolios. The results indicated that all participants successfully created or improved their LinkedIn profiles, actively engaged in the activities, and demonstrated a greater awareness of the importance of a professional digital identity, which can be seen from the students’ participation, the quality of the profiles produced, and their commitment to continuously developing their LinkedIn accounts. The program highlights LinkedIn’s strategic role in strengthening digital literacy and career readiness among university students in the global era.
