Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL) merupakan model pembelajaran yang melibatkan peran aktif peserta didik. Pembelajaran berbasis proyek memberikan peserta didik untuk berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dan membantu memperoleh pengetahuan dan wawasan baru berdasarkan makna pembelajaran yang diperoleh dengan tujuan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dan meningkatkan keaktifan dan kerjasama dalam pembelajaran. untuk mengeksplorasi dan memperdalam pelajaran dengan menyelidiki isu-isu dan pertanyaan yang relevan dan penting. Tinjauan pustaka ini menggunakan tinjauan pustaka naratif. Pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL) dalam pembelajaran kimia merupakan pembelajaran dimana siswa dapat belajar dengan mengerjakan suatu proyek dengan kemampuan dan pemahaman siswa terkait konsep dan materi kimia untuk melihat hasil belajar yang maksimal dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the content of secondary metabolites, toxicity to Artemia salina, and antimalarial activity of methanol extracts of Avicennia marina, Rhizophora mucronata, and Sonneratia caseolaris leaves. Extraction of the third mangrove leaf species was done by maceration using methanol solvent. Then phytochemical test to determine secondary metabolite compounds, then toxicity test against shrimp larvae A. salina with BSLT method, and Antimalarial activity test in vitro against Plasmodium falciparum strain3D7 (chloroquine sensitive) using Giemsa staining microscopic method. Secondary metabolite compounds contained in methanol extracts of the third species of mangrove leaves are alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, phenolics compounds, steroids, triterpenoids and tannins. The toxicity of the methanol extract from mangrove leaves of A. Marina, R. mucronata and S. caseolaris against A. salina is strong category with a LC50 value of 256.132 ± 45.63;  48.165 ± 52.25; and 104.96 ± 9.99 ppm respectively. However, the methanol extract of R. mucronata leaves was most toxic to A. salina due to its lowest LC50 value. Mangrove species R. mucronata and S. caseolaris showed activity against P. falciparum 3D7 in a fairly good category with IC50 values < 50 ?g/ml, while the activity of mangrove species A. marina against P. falcifarum 3D7 included unfavorable category with IC50 value > 50 ?g/ml. The other tissue parts of the third mangrove plant species still need to be further explored regarding their bioactivity against A. salina and P. falciparum 3D7.

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes are often caused by limited student participation and the use of teacher-centered learning approaches. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Think Pair Square (TPSq) cooperative learning model assisted by stick media in improving student learning outcomes, particularly in the topic of chemical compound nomenclature. The research used a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design with participants from class X-10 students at a senior high school (N=32). Learning outcomes were measured using tests given before and after the implementation of the model. Data were analyzed using a non-parametric Wilcoxon test. The results indicated a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with an N-Gain score of 0.71 (high category) and an effect size of 3.85 (very strong category). The TPSq model, supported by stick media, encouraged students to think, discuss, and share ideas actively, leading to a deeper understanding of the material. In conclusion, the stick media-assisted TPSq learning model is effective in enhancing student learning outcomes in chemical compound nomenclature.

Abstract

Pelatihan Augmented Reality (AR) sebagai bagian dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertujuan untuk memberdayakan pendidik dalam menghadapi tantangan transformasi pengajaran di era digital. Kegiatan ini difokuskan pada guru-guru dari berbagai jenjang pendidikan, dengan memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang konsep AR, implementasinya dalam proses pembelajaran, serta pelatihan teknis untuk mengintegrasikan teknologi ini dalam kurikulum. Metode yang digunakan mencakup pelatihan teori, praktik pembuatan konten AR, dan simulasi penggunaannya di kelas. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memanfaatkan AR sebesar 78%, serta menghasilkan antusiasme siswa dalam pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Program ini tidak hanya memberikan keterampilan baru bagi guru, tetapi juga berkontribusi dalam menciptakan ekosistem pendidikan yang inovatif dan relevan dengan perkembangan zaman. Kata Kunci: pengabdian masyarakat, pelatihan AR, transformasi pengajaran, teknologi pendidikan, augmented reality.

Abstract

Laboratorium kimia memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran praktikum yang aman, efektif, dan bermutu. Pengelolaan laboratorium di Sekolah Menengah Atas dan Kejuruan (SMA/SMK) Kota Samarinda belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan standar operasional prosedur karena keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tenaga pengelola. Kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi manajemen laboratorium dan keterampilan dasar kerja laboratorium kimia bagi para pengelola laboratorium di lingkungan SMA/SMK. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan workshop dengan kombinasi sesi teori, diskusi interaktif, dan praktik langsung. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pemahaman peserta terhadap aspek manajemen penelolaan laboratorium, seperti aspek pengetahuan keselamatan, kesehatan kerja laboratorium (K3L), aspek pengetahuan standar operasional prosedur laboratorium (SOP) dan aspek pengetahuan pengelolaan alat dan bahan laboratorium kimia. Peningkatan pengetahuan manajemen pengelolaan laboratorium dari 68% menjadi 85%. Diskusi dan praktik juga memperkuat keterampilan teknis dasar dalam laboratorium kimia meliputi aspek perhitungan dasar kimia dan aspek teknik penggunaan alat. Diperoleh peningkatan teknik keterampilan teknis dasar dalam laboratorium kimia dari 54% menjadi 74%. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan ini dapat meningkatkan kapasitas pengelola laboratorium kimia, serta diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas layanan laboratorium dan ketercapaian pembelajaran kimia SMA/SMK di Kota Samarinda. Chemistry laboratories support safe, effective, and quality practical learning processes. Laboratory management in Senior High Schools and Vocational Schools (SMA/SMK) in Samarinda City is not entirely by standard operating procedures due to management personnel's limited knowledge and skills. This training activity aims to improve laboratory management competency and basic laboratory chemistry work skills for laboratory managers in SMA/SMK environments. The implementation method uses a workshop approach combining theory sessions, interactive discussions, and direct practice. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of aspects of laboratory management, such as aspects of laboratory safety and occupational health (K3L) knowledge, aspects of laboratory standard operating procedures (SOP) expertise, and aspects of knowledge of chemical laboratory equipment and materials management increased understanding of laboratory management from 68% to 85%. Discussions and practices also strengthen basic technical skills in chemical laboratories, including basic chemical calculations and equipment use techniques. Increased basic technical skills in chemical laboratories were obtained from 54% to 74%. In conclusion, this training can improve the capacity of chemistry laboratory managers and is expected to improve the quality of laboratory services and the achievement of chemistry learning in high schools/vocational schools in Samarinda City.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the secondary metabolite content, toxicity, and antimalarial activity of methanol extracts of mangrove leaves Avicennia marina, Rhizophora mucronata, and Sonneratia caseolaris. Mangrove leaf extraction by maceration using methanol solvent, then qualitative phytochemical test (color test), toxicity test by BSLT method using Artemia salina, and antimalarial activity test using Plasmodium falciparum strain 3D7 with Giemsa staining microscopic method. The content of secondary metabolite compounds of methanol extracts of the three mangrove leaf species are alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, phenolic compounds, steroids, triterpenoids and tannins. The toxicity of methanol extract of R. mucronata mangrove leaves against A. salina is included in the strong category. Meanwhile, the toxicity of S. caseolaris is included in the moderate category and A. marina is in the weak category. Mangrove species R. mucronata and S. caseolaris have good activity against P. falciparum 3D7 with IC50 values < 30 μg/ml, while A. marina shows poor activity against P. falciparum 3D7 with IC50 values > 50 μg/ml. Other tissue parts of these three mangrove species still need further exploration for their bioactivity against A. salina and P. falciparum 3D7.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' problem-solving abilities in physics related to global warming materials. The research employed a mixed-method approach combining quantitative test analysis and qualitative interviews. A total of 60 students from class X at a public high school in Samarinda city were selected using purposive sampling, considering their representativeness of the school's academic characteristics. The instrument used was a written test consisting of 10 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions, which had previously been validated by two physics education. The results showed that most students' problem-solving abilities were categorized as low to moderate. Specifically, 5 students were in the very low category, 7 in the low category, 7 in the sufficient category, and 7 in the moderate category. The average test score was 63.9, with a minimum score of 53.3 and a maximum score of 75.3. Furthermore, interviews with six selected students representing each ability level revealed that students in the low category had difficulty connecting physics concepts with real-world environmental issues, while students in the moderate category were able to identify problems but struggled to develop structured problem-solving strategies. The findings indicate that physics learning still requires improvement, especially in developing students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Therefore, physics instruction should be directed towards more applicable and contextual learning strategies, such as problem-based learning (PBL) and inquiry-based approaches, to help students meaningfully connect physics concepts with real environmental phenomena like global warming.

Abstract

Resistensi terhadap antibiotik konvensional memiliki tingkat kejadian yang cukup tinggi. Dibutuhkan pengembangan antibiotik baru salah satunya golongan senyawa peptida yang merupakan kandidat yang potensial sebagai agen antimikroba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis peptida baru dan mengevaluasi aktivitas antimikrobanya. Peptida antimikroba dapat didesain menggunakan machine learning iAMPpred dengan menganalisis nilai tertinggi probabilitas antibakteri dan antijamur. Peptida disintesis secara kimia di laboratorium menggunakan metode sintesis peptida fase padat dan diuji aktivitas antimikrobanya dengan menggunakan metode dilusi untuk menghitung nilai Minimum Inhibitory concentration (MIC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan desain heksapeptida linear Prolin-Leusin-Lisin-Leusin-Fenilalanin-Fenilalanin (PLKLFF) memiliki nilai probabilitas tertinggi dengan nilai probabilitas antibakteri 0,87 dan probabilitas antijamur 0,91. Heksapeptida linear ini berhasil disintesis menggunakan metode sintesis peptida fase padat dengan rendemen sebesar 93,32%. Keberhasilan sintesis dikonfirmasi menggunakan spektrofotometer infra merah dan spektroskopi massa. Senyawa heksapeptida linear PLKLFF memiliki aktivitas antijamur/fungistatik sedang terhadap jamur C. albicans ATCC 10231 dengan nilai MIC 312,5 µg/mL dan tidak aktif terhadap bakteri E. coli ATCC 11229 dan S. aureus ATCC 6538.

Abstract

Current technological developments provide many changes, especially in the field of education. The development of technology requires humans to be able to adapt to life in this era. One of them is by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) in chemistry learning to open the way to a new era in chemistry education. Literature review was carried out using the narrative literature review method to identify the role of AI in chemistry learning in improving 21st century skills. The application of AI in chemistry learning not only has a positive impact on 21st century skills, but also changes the way students interact with chemistry concepts and opens up new opportunities for students to understand chemistry concepts in more depth through enhanced learning media, interactive simulations, and predictions accurate. The application of AI has been widely applied in chemistry learning and has shown positive results in improving 21st century skills.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology offers significant opportunities to develop innovative, interactive, and adaptive learning media that align with the learning characteristics of the 21st-century generation. This study aims to develop and evaluate animated video-based instructional materials on the topic of atomic theory development, integrated through Google Sites, and to determine their validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The study involved two subject matter experts, two media experts, two instructional practitioners, and tenth-grade students from SMAIT Istiqamah YPAIT Balikpapan. The validation results indicated a high level of feasibility with a score of 94.92% (very valid). Practicality assessments yielded scores of 90.73% from teachers (very practical) and 76.74% from students (practical). The effectiveness test demonstrated improved learning outcomes, with an N-Gain score of 0.70 (medium category) and an effect size of 3.71 (very strong category). These findings suggest that Google Sites-based animated video media effectively enhance students’ conceptual understanding, motivation, and learning independence, making it a relevant and innovative alternative for digital-based chemistry learning.
