Abstract

The process of selecting scholarship recipients at SMK MEDAN still faces issues of subjectivity and inefficiency due to manual procedures. This study aims to develop a scholarship decision support system based on the SMART (Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique) method within the Decision Support System (DSS) framework to enhance objectivity and transparency in decision-making. This research employs a quantitative approach within an applied research framework using real student data based on criteria such as academic achievement, parents’ income, number of dependents, and attendance. The results indicate that the SMART method effectively generates a consistent multi-criteria ranking model, where the top candidate achieves a preference score of 0.833, equivalent to an 83.3% eligibility level. The developed system improves decision quality through more objective and efficient educational decision optimization. The main contribution lies in integrating SMART with real data into an application-based system, offering a more transparent and practical approach compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

This study evaluates the integration of Internet of Things (IoT)-based temperature monitoring and high-barrier mono-material Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) as a strategy to reduce food loss in cold chain systems. The research assesses the technical, environmental, and economic implications of implementing real-time temperature control alongside recyclable packaging materials. The results indicate that IoT-based monitoring reduces spoilage by enabling rapid detection of temperature deviations and corrective actions during storage and transportation. In parallel, high-barrier mono-material MAP maintains internal gas composition, extending shelf life and stabilizing product quality throughout distribution. Life cycle and techno-economic considerations suggest that although initial investment and material costs may increase, reductions in food loss and improved sell-through can offset expenses, particularly for high-value perishable products. Overall, the integration of digital monitoring and barrier packaging provides a preventive and preservative approach that enhances cold chain performance, reduces waste, and supports environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Digital printing industries face persistent quality challenges due to production defects that increase operational costs and reduce customer satisfaction. This study analyzed reject rates at PT. X, a mid-sized digital printing company in Tangerang, Indonesia, from August 2025 to January 2026 using quantitative descriptive-analytical methods through a case study approach. Total sampling captured 180 daily observations of production defects categorized into machine-related issues, packaging defects, lamination failures, base-support problems, blurry printing, and others. Statistical Process Control techniques employed c-charts to establish control limits (CL=1,500, UCL=1,616, LCL=1,384) and Pareto charts to prioritize dominant defect causes. Results revealed process stability for four months, with significant deviations in November 2025 (1,767 defects exceeding UCL) and August 2025 (1,327 defects below LCL), indicating special cause variations. Machine-related defects consistently contributed 40-50% of total rejects across all months. Findings confirm average reject rates of 2-3% per batch and recommend prioritizing machine maintenance and process monitoring. This research provides an adaptive SPC model for seasonal defect management in tropical manufacturing contexts and practical improvement strategies for digital printing SMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an economic token-based media using positive reinforcement to improve children's discipline. The background of this study stems from the problem of low discipline among children, such as children often arriving late, not tidying up their toys, and not following the teacher's instructions when doing tasks. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were 23 children in group B. This Economic Token Media was validated by two subject matter experts and media experts. The two experts gave it a validation score of 88.23% from the media expert and 100% from the subject matter expert. This media has been tested on 15 children in group B aged 5-6 years. From the test results, a feasibility score was obtained with a percentage of BSB 62.22%, BSH 26.66%, MB 11.11%, and BB 0%. The use of economic token media has been proven to be effective in improving children's discipline and is suitable for testing on children. It is also very safe to use and not harmful to children.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of religious-value-based prompt methods in preventing violence against young children and to analyze their impact on children’s social skills. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a correlational design, conducted at Tunas Mekar Kindergarten in Palu during the 2025/2026 academic year, with 18 children from Group B as the subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis utilized percentage calculations and qualitative interpretation. The results of the study indicate that the application of prompts based on religious values is effective in improving children’s emotional regulation skills, non-violent social behavior, as well as their understanding and application of religious values. In the first week, the majority of children were in the “beginning to develop” category (55.56%) and the “not yet developed” category (24.07%). Following the implementation of the prompts method in the second and third weeks, there was an increase in the “developing as expected” (37.03%) and “developing very well” (29.62%) categories, and no children remained in the “not yet developing” category. Interview results with teachers also indicated that learning became more active, interactive, and enjoyable, and that children were better able to exhibit non-violent social behavior. Thus, prompts based on religious values are effective in improving the social skills of young children and can serve as a learning strategy to prevent violence against children in school settings.

Abstract

Abstract

Mata Mamplam Village faces persistent limitations in managing population administration, accessing public information, and coordinating disaster response — all of which are still handled manually, making services slow and prone to error. This community service program was designed to build and deploy a website-based Village Information System (SID) as a digital solution that addresses these specific, documented needs. The approach taken was needs-based service, involving village officials and community representatives through in-depth interviews and direct observation. The program ran through four sequential stages: needs analysis, system development, operator mentoring, and functional evaluation using black-box testing. The resulting system was built on the Next.js 14 framework with a PostgreSQL database, covering five main modules: population administration digitization based on National Identity Number (NIK) with automated PDF letter generation, public information transparency, disaster response management linked to BMKG data, a digital MSME catalog, and a no-code self-management feature. Black-box testing across all ten functional scenarios returned a 100% pass rate, and village operators demonstrated the ability to run and manage the system independently after the mentoring sessions. The deployment has measurably shifted village administrative services toward faster, more accurate, and more responsive operations.

Abstract

Volatility modeling plays a crucial role in time-series forecasting, particularly for wind speed, where variability and asymmetric responses to shocks are commonly observed. Accurate wind speed forecasting can help mitigate potential risks associated with extreme or uncontrolled wind events. While the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model is widely used to model the conditional mean of time series, it does not capture time-varying volatility or asymmetric effects. To address this limitation, we combine ARIMA with Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH) and asymmetric extensions, including the Glosten–Jagannathan–Runkle GARCH (GJR-GARCH) and its generalized form (GGJR-GARCH). This framework allows simultaneous modeling of the conditional mean and conditional variance, accommodating heteroscedasticity and leverage effects in wind speed data. The empirical results indicate that negative shocks exert a stronger impact on conditional volatility than positive shocks, confirming the presence of asymmetry. Based on forecasting performance evaluation, the ARIMA(2,0,1)–GGJR-GARCH(1,1) specification provides the most accurate predictions among the competing models.
