Abstract

This study aimed to describe the structure and function of social expression of a ban on love, dating, and married in Kenagarian Toboh Sikaladi Kecamatan Sintuk Toboh Gadang Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. The research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. Background or where the study was conducted in Kenagarian Toboh Sikaladi Sintuk Toboh Tower District of Padang Pariaman district. The informants consist of one main informant and two supportive informants. Data were collected through three stages, namely observation, interview and recording techniques. After that, the data is analyzed by a data inventory phase, phase description of the structure and a social function, stage identifies the data, and reporting stage. Based on the results, it can be concluded that data about people's trust ban expression of love, dating, and married in Kenagarian Toboh Sikaladi Kecamatan Sintuk Toboh Gadang Kabupaten Padang Pariaman found as many as 53 expression. The structure of the people's trust in the public ban Kenagarian Toboh Sikaladi Kecamatan Sintuk Toboh Gadang Kabupaten Padang Pariaman is divided into two forms,ie expression of belief and expression structured two-part folk beliefs structured three parts.The phrase structured ban two parts are found as many as 45 expression, whereas expression of a structured three parts found eight expression. This study included into the category of folk beliefs surrounding human environment of love, courtship, and marriage. The social function of the people's trust ban expression in this research, strengthen religious emotion and conviction found as many as five expressions, fantasy projection system found 31 expression, educate found three expressions, prohibit found 13 expression, and had found a phrase.Keywords: social expression, local beliefs, prohibition

Abstract

The study aims to describe: (1) the structure of local legend Batu Bangkai in Kanagarian Alama Pauah Duo Sub-district Pauah Duo District Solok Selatan, and (2) the social function of local legend Batu Bangkai in Kanagarian Alama Pauah Duo Sub-district Pauah Duo District Solok Selatan. The source of this research data is story about local legend Batu Bangkai in Kanagarian Alam Pauah Duo Sub-district Pauah Duo District Solok Selatan. Based on result of the study concluded: (1) The folklore the main character of local legend Batu Bangkai  is a rebellious child, slot of the story is conventional slot, the story happened in Kanagarian Alama Pauah Duo Sub-district Pauah Duo District Solok Selatan,  the language told by informant with understoodable language, the massage of the story is to be honest, to help each other, and never give up, and (2) social function of the local legend Batu Bangkai are for entertain, education, and cultural preservation. Keywords: folklore, structure, social function

Abstract

This research aimed to describe profile of female characters in metropop novel Sunshine Becomes You and In a Blue Moon by Ilana Tan, from basic human attitude of love, beauty, misery, outlook on life, responsibilities, and hopes. Data  in this research is a word, phrase, clause, sentence, which can be formulated as profile of female characters. Source of data in this research is metropop novel Sunshine Becomes You and In a Blue Moon by Ilana Tan. This research is a qualitative research and using descriptive analysis method. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that basic human attitude wasfound on two female main characters in both novels. Then, after a comparison between the two characters, it can be concluded that the characteristics of the profile of female  in novels by Ilana Tan has a tendency to fight for the basic attitude of love that is family-oriented and opposite sex. The basic attitude of love family-oriented, including the type of storge love. Meanwhile, the basic attitude of love that is oriented in the opposite sex, including the type of mania love. Furthermore, the profile of female characters in novels by Ilana Tan also has a tendency to fight for basic attitude-oriented outlook on life reflections / thoughts by themselves. outlook on lifeoriented reflections including the type of pragmatism.Keywords: Profile, female,characters, basic human attitude

Abstract

This article was written to describe character of  profile in novel Kuhapus Namamu dengan Nama-Nya by Taufiqurrahman Al-Azizy. The data of the research was novel component profile of character novel Kuhapus Namamu dengan Nama-Nya by Taufiqurrahman Al-Azizy. The source of the data research novel Kuhapus Namamu dengan Nama-Nya by Taufiqurrahman Al-Azizy. The method used in this research was descriptive method. Research finding profile of characters in novel Kuhapus Namamu dengan Nama-Nya by Taufiqurrahman Al-Azizy that consist of seven characters. First, as a main character Naufal has a view or life, responsibility, justness, strength to face suffering, and beauty. And six supporting actris are Naura is lovely, responsibility, and unpatien to face suffering. Sa’di is responsibility, and describes the beauty of woman. Abah and Umi are responsible parents, and Mr. Seno has responsible to other people and god.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the forms and causes of social phenomena in Minangkabau society in the lyrics of the song Seso Parambah Rimbo, Salamaik Pagi Minangkabau, and Anak Jalanan. And the creation of Agus Taher on the album Febian “Katiko Cinto Musti Mangalah". Forms of social reflection that such criticism against forest destroyers in Minangkabau to refrain from forest destruction due to the impact of the damage felt by Minangkabau people themselves, plants and animals in the forest, the phenomenon of a shift in values ​​society that has abandoned traditional Minangkabau and Minangkabau philosophy due to the influence of western culture, and the phenomena of waning sense of brotherhood and love among fellow Minangkabau society, especially the poorand neglected children.

Abstract

The aims of this research are (a) to describe the structure of folklore of local legend Batu Galeh in Kenagarian Sungai Antuan Mungka, district Lima Puluh Kota. (b) todescribe the social function of folklore of local legend namely Batu Galeh in Kenagarian Sungai Antuan, Mungka Sub-district, Lima Puluh Kota. This research type is qualitative research with descriptive method. Data of this research is local folklore legend of Batu Galeh. The data technique collection is done in two stages. The first stage, the stage of recording the folklore of local legend Batu Galeh and then the result of recording is transcribed. Next, transcription results will be translated from local language Minangkabau in Kenagarian Sungai Antuan Mungka district Lima Puluh Kota into Indonesian language. The second stage, collecting data about the enviroment story. The result of this research is found that in the folklore of local legend Batu Galeh has 2 characters, advanced groove, and background of place of kampung, rantau, and place of rest, background of time happened in ancient time and some atmosphere background that is happy, sad, sorry. Abstract

This study aimed to describe the role of women in the novel Tarian Bumi works Oka Rusmini especially regarding the role of women in family and society.  This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method that is verbally describing the problems found in the object of research, the theory used, data analysis, and so on. To examine how the role of women in family and society in the novel, this research is performed the the following steps: (1) analyzing the data by identifying the parts relating to the role of women in the family and society. (2) classify data relating to women’s roles. (3) interpret data. (4) make conclusions and compile research reports. Based on data analysis, it was concluded that the role of women in the novel Tarian Bumi by Oka Rusmini is as follows. (1) the role of women in the family in the Tarian Bumi novel by Oka Rusmini of: (a) the role of women as children (b) the role of women as mothers (c) the role of women as wives. Abstract

This research aimed to (a) describe the structure of folklore legend of Syekh Katik Sangko in Pasir Subdistrict, central Pariaman District, Pariaman City. (b) describe the social function of folklore legend of Sheikh Katik Sangko in Pasir Village, Central Pariaman District, Pariaman City. The type of this research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data analysis technique was carried out through four steps. The first step was to carried out data inventory. The second was the data classification or analysis phase. The third step was a discussion and conclusion of the results of classification or data analysis. The last was reporting the research as thesis. The results of this study were found that in the folklore legend of Syekh Katik Sangko in Pasir Subdistrict, central Pariaman District, Pariaman City has 10 figures. The theme in this story is the spreading of Islam in Pariaman. Social functions found are means of education, inheritance and identity. Keywords: structure, social function, folklore

Abstract

The purpose of this article is (a) to describe the story of episode novel Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah written by Hamka, (b) to describe the story of episode Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah movie director by Hanny R. Saputra, (c) to describe the similarity and differences the story of episode novel with Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah movie. The Data of this study is the story of episode novel Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah written by Hamka and Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah movie director by Hanny R. Saputra. Analysis technique is with ekranisasi theory. The finding of the study showed that the decreasing episode of the story novel Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah written by Hamka in Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah movie director by Hanny R. Saputra become 61 stories of episode. Additional of the story in Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah movie director by Hanny R. Saputra become 89 stories of episode. The change of variation event, character and background the story of episode in novel Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah written by Hamka and Di Bawah Lindungan Kabah movie director by Hanny R.
