Background: People infected with HIV (PIWH) are increasing in number in Karo Regency every year. Therefore, all sub-districts or villages contribute the incidence of HIV / AIDS. While the HIV prevention program already exists at KPA GBKP (Commission on HIV /AIDS Prevention of Batak Karo Protestant Church) but has not seen its effect. Methods: Literature review are conducted using the PRISMA model. All studies reviewed were quantitative, with most studies using cross sectional studies (14.29%), using literature reviews (9.52%), using experiments (28.57), using quasi experiments (33.33%, and using Randomized Control Trial/RCT (14.29%). Sample sizes varied from 134 to 1444 participants. The dependent variable is HIV/AIDS prevention. Independent variables are church members, family support, and increased self-awareness. Of the 1173 articles, 21 that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected for the study. The articles were collected from 4 database sources including Proquest, EBSCO-CINAHL, Springer Link and Google Scoler. Result: HIV/AIDS prevention was influenced by self awareness (18.1%), church members (9%), family support (54.5%), and interventions to prevent HIV/AIDS (27.2%). Although some countries had revealed that the promotion of HIV/AIDS health and prevention was improved and the concern of all communities to reduce the stigma of HIV/AIDS. Conclusion: Increased HIV/AIDS prevention was influenced by the role of church members, community, family support, and increased self awareness.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRAK: Latar Belakang: Orang yang terinfeksi dengan HIV (ODHA semakin meningkat jumlahnya di Kabupaten Karo setiap tahun. Oleh karena, semua wilayah kecamatan atau desa ikut menyumbangkan angka kejadian penyakit HIV/AIDS. Sementara program pencegahan HIV sudah ada dilakukan di KPA GBKP (Komisi Penangulangan HIV/AIDS Gereja Batak Karo Protestan) tetapi belum terlihat pengaruhnya. Metode: Kajian literatur dilakukan dengan menggunakan model PRISMA. Semua studi yang ditinjau adalah kuantitatif, dengan sebagian besar studi menggunakan studi cross sectional (14,29%), menggunakan tinjauan literatur (9,52%), menggunakan eksperimen (28,57), menggunakan quasi eksperimen (33,33%, dan menggunakan Randomized Control Trial/RCT (14,29%). Ukuran sampel bervariasi dari 134 hingga 1.444 peserta. Variabel dependen adalah pencegahan HIV/AIDS. Variabel yang tidak tergantung adalah anggota gereja, dukungan keluarga, dan peningkatan self awareness. Dari 1.173 artikel, 21 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang dipilih untuk penelitian ini. Artikel-artikel tersebut dikumpulkan dari 4 sumber basis data meliputi Proquest, EBSCO-CINAHL, Springer Link dan Google Scoler. Hasil: Pencegahan HIV/ AIDS dipengaruhi oleh self awareness (18,1%), anggota gereja (9%), dukungan keluarga (54,5%), dan intervensi untuk mencegah HIV/AIDS (27,2%). Meskipun beberapa negara telah mengungkapkan bahwa promosi kesehatan dan pencegahan HIV/AIDS ditingkatkan dan kepedulian semua masyarakat untuk mengurangi stigma HIV/ AIDS. Kesimpulan: Peningkatan pencegahan HIV/ AIDS dipengaruhi oleh peran anggota gereja, komunitas, dukungan keluarga, dan peningkatan self awareness.

Karya Ilmiah Akhir ini merupakan laporan akhir setelah praktik residensi peminatan Keperawatan Medikal Bedah. Laporan akan menguraikan satu kasus utama dari pengelolaan terhadap 31 kasus yang dikelola, Evidence Based Nursing Practice (EBNP) dan inovasi. Perubahan signifikan didapatkan pada hasil penerapan asuhan keperawatan menggunakan model adaptasi Roy, pasien mampu beradaptasi lebih baik terhadap masalah yang dihadapi tanpa tergantung pada keberadaan stimulus sebagai pencetus masalah. EBNP yang akan dilaporkan adalah penggunaan teknik relaksasi untuk mengatasi nyeri dan kecemasan post operasi gangguan muskuloskeletal, dengan hasil tindakan ini efektif untuk menurunkan nyeri tetapi tidak menunjukkan penurunan besar untuk kecemasan. Kegiatan inovasi yang dikerjakan yaitu program discharge planning untuk pasien perioperatif muskuloskeletal memberikan hasil yang baik dalam menurunkan kecemasan dan kepatuhan terhadap prosedur yang dijalankan. Hypoglycemia is an acute complication of diabetes mellitus which frequently occur repeatedly identified by blood glucose level less than 70 mg/dl. Diabetic patients experience dilemmatic situation where they are required to obtain diabetes drug therapy to control blood sugar level remain normal, but facing another concerns about the side effects of treatment which can lead to complication of hypoglycemia. This condition will affect the psychological fearness of repeated attacks that result a traumatic feelings in diabetic patients. The study aimed to gain in depth understanding of diabetic patients experiences who had experienced of hypoglycemia episodes in Persadia Depok. This was a qualitative research which applied phenomenology method and involved six participants with diabetes mellitus experienced hypoglycemia episodes. Data were collected using in-depth interview and field notes. A Colaizzi's content analysis method was operated across data and revealed 6 themes: decline in physical function while in response to hypoglycemia, traumatic feelings when experiencing hypoglycemia, participants' understanding that caused of hypoglycemia, awareness of hypoglycemia prevention, internal beliefs became the main source of coping strategy to face hypoglycemia and nursing care needs. The results of this study suggested a need of improvement in nursing education for patients with hypoglycemia.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is one of the chronic diseases that has increased globally and is a cause of various organ dysfunction such as diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Early detection of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and identification of risk factors can reduce the morbidity of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. This literature review was written to present the risk factors of diabetic peripheral neuropathy in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Literature search was conducted to obtain appropriate articles through the electronic database Medline, Cinahl, Proquest, and Clinical Key with keywords: prevalence of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, risk factors and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The results obtained 16 articles according to the topic and through a review, it is known that risk factors of diabetic peripheral neuropathy in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients are old age, male sex, duration of diabetes mellitus, poor glycemic control, retinopathy, nephropathy, and risk factors of cardiovascular diseases such as: obesity, overweight, hypertension,and dyslipidemia.

THE LIVED EXPERIENCE OF PATIENTS WITH PRE-DIALYSIS CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE: A QUALITATIVE STUDY Tri Hapsari Retno Agustiyowati; Ratna Sitorus; Agung Waluyo; Besral Besral

Background: Chronic kidney disease is identified as kidney damage for more than three months with glomerulus filtration rate less than 60ml / min / 1.73 m2. Objective: This study aims to explore the experience of life of patients with pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease used Roy’s adaptation model. Methods: This study was a qualitative study using descriptive phenomenology approach in the General Hospital of Cibabat Cimahi West Java, Indonesia. Data were obtained with depth interviews involved eight participants with pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease consisting of two men and six women, aged ranged from 35 to 65 years. The years living with chronic kidney disease ranged from 1 to 2 years. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s methods. Results: We found nine themes, namely: physical stimulus, psychic stimulus, socio-economic stimulus, physical coping mechanisms to control the situation, a coping mechanism to maintain health function, selecting behavioral adaptation physiology, selecting a behavior adaptation of the self-concept, selecting adaptation behaviors role function, and selecting behavioral adaptation interdependence. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the experience of patients with pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease complained physical, psychological, social, economic, and spiritual problems. Therefore, health care professionals need to design an intervention to improve patients’ coping mechanism to maintain kidney function, and adapt to diet for foods and drinks, activity patterns and roles according to their conditions, which also elaborate the function of family support.

Background: Adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) can be challenging since it needs to be continued for a lifetime. At their age, adolescents start to be responsible for their life, and this continued therapy might be a challenge for them. Objective: This study explored the experiences of adherence to ART in adolescents living with HIV in Jakarta, Indonesia. Methods: A qualitative study with an Appreciative Inquiry (AI) approach was employed to explore challenges adolescents face in ART adherence which focused more on positive aspects of the experience. In-depth interviews were conducted with ten adolescents who were selected purposively based on criteria including those aged 13-19 years, having been diagnosed with HIV infection and receiving ART for more than a year, and never having discontinued ART. All participants were registered in the outpatient clinic in one top referral hospital in Jakarta. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results: Five themes were identified from the data: living a normal life, wanting to be healthy, taking medication on time, challenges in undergoing treatment, and there is hope. Conclusion: Adolescents with HIV want to live as normal and healthy as possible, like other adolescents. Even though adolescents face several challenges to comply with ART, they try to take the medication as prescribed. The findings of this study serve as input for nurses to maintain compliance with ARVs in adolescents who have HIV.

Tuberkulosis (TB) merupakan masalah kesehatan yang menjadi perhatian dunia. Indonesia menduduki peringkat nomor 3 tertinggi di dunia. Mobile phone merupakan teknologi yang sudah tidak asing lagi bagi berbagai kalangan usia. Mobile phone yang digunakan untuk kesehatan dikenal sebagai mHealth. Manfaat mHealth dapat digunakan dalam mengatasi faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya kepatuhan pengobatan. Metode:Pencarian artikel yang relevan telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan kata kunci “mHealth for TB” AND “mHealth for Adherance TB”. Pencarian literatur dengan menggunakan mesin pencarian online Sciencedirect, EBSCO, Proquest, google scholar dari tahun 2013-2019. Hasil:Penggunaan mHealth terdiri dari sms otomatis, panggilan telfon, dan video edukasi. Pemanfaatan dari berbagai jenis mHealth ini digunakan sesuai dengan kebutuhan dari pasien. Manfaat mHealth sms otomatis dan telfon yaitu sebagai pengingat minum obat dan jadwal kunjungan rutin. Video edukasi memberikan informasi mengenai TB dan motivasi dari kelompok sebaya. Kesimpulan: Penggunaan teknologi mHealthdapat meningkatkan kepatuhan pasien TB dalam pengobatan dengan metode pengingat minum obat, jadwal kunjungan rutin, edukasi, dan dukungan sosial. Rekomendasi: Beberapa manfaat penggunaan mHealth telah dibuktikan oleh beberapa studi di luar negeri. Untuk itu diperlukan studi lebih lanjut tentang intervensi pelayanan kesehatan seperti DOTS pada pasien TB menggunakan aplikasi mHealth di Indonesia.

Homosexuals are the group with the highest percentage who have sex with multiple partners and are at risk of contracting HIV-AIDS, therefore Homosexual (gay) is the orientation of individuals with others of the same sex either consciously or unconsciously. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge and attitudes with the behavior of condom use in homosexual PLHAs. This research is a descriptive correlation study with a cross-sectional approach (cross sectional), namely the measurement of the independent variable and the dependent variable carried out simultaneously with a sample of 64 out of 179 homosexuals. Measurement of variables is done by direct interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis uses the chi-square statistical test . The results of the study based on the age of the most aged <30 years as many as 39 people (60.9%), based on the education of the majority of respondents, namely high school as many as 51 people (79.7%). from the results of the bivariate analysis that there was no significant relationship between education and the attitude of the use of condoms to the compliance of condom use in homosexual PLHAs (p = 0.638) . Can be used as a reference in preventing the increase in HIV / AIDS among the community through various kinds of training for people who will be involved in conducting counseling and direct guidance to the community about HIV/AIDS and can provide information about HIV/AIDS to the community and provide motivation for sufferers to continue to live. Survey yang dilakukan di RSUD Sawahlunto, didapatkan rekapitulasi absensi perawat yang terlambat datang sebanyak 7,2%, perawat yang turn over tahun 2012 sebanyak 2% dan 2013 sebanyak 2,1%, pelaksanaan supervisi belum optimal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara komitmen pada organisasi dan supervisi kepala ruangan dengan kepuasan kerja perawat pelaksana. Pengumpulan dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner dengan teknik angket, jumlah sampel 81 perawat pelaksana. Analisis data menggunakan Chi-square dan regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 42 (51,9%) perawat pelaksanan puas dalam bekerja, 45 (55,6%) perawat pelaksana mempunyai komitmen baik, 42 (51,9%) pelaksanaan supervisi baik dan adanya hubungan antara komitmen pada organisasi dan supervisi kepala ruangan dengan kepuasan kerja perawat pelaksana di unit rawat inap RSUD Sawahlunto dengan (P value < 0,05). Dimana supervisi kepala ruangan sebagai variabel yang dominan (OR = 28, 617). Hasil penelitian ini merekomendasikan dalam upaya meningkatkan komitmen perawat seperti dalam hal visi, misi serta idiologi rumah sakit, membuat aturan baku tentang promosi dan pendidikan berkelanjutan bagi perawat dan membuat program peningkatan kompetensi supervisor.

Introduction: Cancer patients rate nausea and vomiting as the most unpleasant side effect of chemotherapy, even though antiemetic therapy has been given intensively. Acupressure is a non-pharmacological action that can reduce the effects of nausea and vomiting. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of the application of acupressure on nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy in cancer patients. Methods: This research is a literature study, articles were collected using Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and PubMed databases with keywords acupressure, nausea, vomiting, and chemotherapy. Inclusion criteria included articles published from 2013-2022. Results: Based on a review of 10 articles discussing the application of acupressure therapy interventions that can provide effective results for reducing nausea and vomiting in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Conclusion: Acupressure therapy has a significant impact in reducing nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing chemotherapy and can be used as an alternative for nursing interventions in overcoming nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy in cancer patients.
