Abstract

This study aimed to examine the differences in creative thinking skills among seventh-grade students taught using Wordwall and Educaplay in science learning at SMP Negeri 16 Mandai. A quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent group design was used. The sample consisted of two experimental classes: Wordwall (n = 32) and Educaplay (n = 31). Data were obtained through a creative thinking skills test and analyzed using ANCOVA. The results showed no significant difference in students’ creative thinking skills between the Wordwall and Educaplay groups (p = 0.788). This indicates that both quiz-based media had a comparable effect on students’ creative thinking performance. Although descriptive data showed improvements in posttest scores in both groups, the statistical analysis confirmed that the difference between the two media was not significant. It can be concluded that Wordwall and Educaplay are equally effective in supporting the development of students’ creative thinking skills in science learning, though neither showed superiority over the other.

Abstract

Understanding scientific culture (USC) and developing problem-solving skills (PSS) are important elements in facing complex global challenges in the digital era. This study examines the effects of creativity (CRV), communication (CMN), and digital literacy (DGL) on USC and PSS in biology students at Universitas Negeri Makassar, Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat, and Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika in Indonesia. A cross-sectional quantitative survey approach was used with a structured online questionnaire, and data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The results showed that CRV had a significant direct effect on USC and PSS. CMN also had an effect on USC. However, the direct effect of CMN on PSS was not significant, indicating that its role in improving problem-solving skills was mediated by USC. In contrast, DGL showed a weaker direct effect on PSS and USC, indicating a less dominant role than creativity and communication. These findings emphasize the importance of a synergistic educational approach that integrates CRV, CMN, and DGL to support USC and PSS. Emphasis on creativity as a transformative tool and communication as a collaborative medium in scientific contexts is highly recommended, while DGL needs to be further developed to effectively complement these competencies. Future research needs to explore these relationships in different contexts to refine educational strategies and address evolving challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Masalah dalam penelitian ini terkait dengan pemberdayaan keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Beberapa hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa masih rendah, padahal hampir di seluruh sekolah saat ini telah dituntut untuk menerapkan kurikulum 2013 yang diharapkan mampu memusatkan pembelajaran kepada siswa untuk mengembangkan kemampuannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo pada mata pelajaran biologi. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah satu kelas dari siswa kelas XII IPA yang berjumlah 32 orang. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan soal tes keterampilan pemecahan masalah berbentuk uraian dan wawancara semi terstruktur bersama guru mata pelajaran biologi beserta beberapa orang siswa yang bertujuan untuk dijadikan sebagai informasi tambahan untuk mendukung hasil penelitian. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa, serta analisis menggunakan program excel untuk menghitung rata-rata tiap indikator keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keempat indikator keterampilan pemecahan masalah berada pada kategori baik yaitu dengan persentase merumuskan masalah 66,80%; mengembangkan jawaban sementara (hipotesis) 75,39%; merencanakan solusi 76,95%; dan mengecek kembali/membuat kesimpulan 73,83%. Secara keseluruhan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo berada pada kategori baik dengan rata-rata 73,24. Keywords: Keterampilan Pemecahan Masalah, Pembelajaran Biologi, SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi mencakup keterampilan menggunakan logika dan penalaran, menganalisis, mengevaluasi, mencipta, memecahkan masalah, dan membuat keputusan. Keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi dalam penelitian ini meliputi keterampilan menganalisis (C4), mengevaluasi (C5), dan mencipta (C6) sesuai dengan Taksonomi Bloom yang telah direvisi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan kelas XI di SMA Negeri 8 Jeneponto. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 110 siswa dengan metode penentuan sampel menggunakan total sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Tes diberikan dalam bentuk esai yang dinilai menggunakan rubrik penilaian keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang dikembangkan oleh Diane Hart (1999). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan hasil tes yang diperoleh siswa pada ranah kognitif C4 (analisis) sebesar 55,23 dengan kategori rendah, pada ranah kognitif C5 (evaluasi) sebesar 62,27 dengan kategori sedang, dan pada ranah kognitif C6 (mencipta) sebesar 55 dengan kategori rendah. Sehingga nilai rata-rata keseluruhan adalah 57,14 dengan kategori rendah. Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa kelas XI pada materi sistem pencernaan di SMA Negeri 8 Jeneponto tergolong rendah.

Abstract

Video pembelajaran berbasis kontekstual dikembangkan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar  yang bersifat valid, praktis dan efektif serta dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan atau Reserch and Development (RD) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE atau model dengan tahapan analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Data penelitian terdiri atas (1) data kevalidan melalui penilaian validator ahli menggunakan instrumen angket validasi, (2) data kepraktisan melalui observasi keterlaksanaan video pembelajaran menggunakan angket observasi keterlaksanaan dan menggunakan angket respon guru dan peserta didik, (3) data keefektifan diperoleh melalui angket motivasi dan kemandirian. Guru IPA dan Peserta didik Kelas VIII SMPN 15 Makassar sebgai subjek penelitian untuk mengetahui kepraktisan video pembelajaran kontekstual. Hasil analisis data validitas produk penelitian diperoleh 4.7 (sangat valid), hasil analisis kepraktisan produk oleh guru 85% (sangat praktis) dan peserta didik 90% (sangat praktis) dan hasil analisis keefektifan dilihat dari motivasi 88% (sangat baik) dan kemandirian 88% (sangat baik). Berdasarkan analisis data tersebut video pembelajaran berbasis kontekstual bersifat valid, praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

Item quality analysis is one of the important ways to determine the quality of a test. This study aims to determine the comparison of the quality of biology items based on the region in Bone Regency which includes aspects of material, construction, and language. The method used in this research is a survey method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling, so that 5 schools in Bone district were obtained which represented each region in Bone district and then used purposive sampling technique to select only schools that used multiple choice questions in the end-of-semester test. The results showed that the quality of the items from the material aspect showed that very good items were mostly found in the SMA 5 Bone test questions with a percentage of (86.85%), very good construction aspect items were mostly found in the SMA 5 Bone test questions with a percentage of (98.84%), and very good language aspect items were mostly found in the SMA 14 Bone test questions with a percentage of (96.4%).

Abstract

This study aims to determine problem-solving skills through the application of socio-scientific issue-oriented problem-based learning  reviewed from the academic abilities of grade X students and to find the interaction of the application of socio-scientific issue-oriented problem-based learning  with academic ability on the biology problem-solving skills of grade X students. This research is a quasi-experimental design. The research design used is Pretest-Posttest Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study is Class X of SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo which consists of five classes, namely Classes X1 to X5 with the research samples used, namely Classes X3 and X6. The data collection technique uses  eight-number essay questions that are arranged using problem-solving skill indicators that have been validated by expert validators. The data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results of the study showed that (i) The average score of students who were taught with the SSI-oriented PBL model with a score of 74.38 (ii) The scoring criteria obtained from problem-solving skills are in the good category. (iii) The problem-solving skills of students who were taught with the SSI-oriented PBL learning model on high academic ability obtained an average score of 81.88 and students with low academic ability had an average score of 64.82. (iv).There was no effect of interaction between the model and academic ability on problem-solving skills. The conclusion of this research is that the problem-based learning model oriented towards socio-scientific issues has an effect on students' problem solving skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa E-Modul pada materi pembelahan sel di kelas XII SMA yang memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan Research and Development (R&D) yang mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan, yaitu analisis (analysis), desain (design), pengembangan (development), implementasi (implementation), dan evaluasi (evaluation). Bahan ajar E-Modul yang dikembangkan akan diuji validitasnya oleh 2 validator dan uji kepraktisan oleh guru dan siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan 30 orang peserta didik kelas XII MIPA 1 SMAN 14 Makassar untuk dilakukan uji coba terhadap kepraktisan bahan ajar E-Modul yang telah dikembangkan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket. Berdasarkan analisis data, nilai kevalidan yang diperoleh dari kedua validator menunjukkan bahwa E-Modul berada pada kategori sangat valid dengan hasil persentase sebesar 94,2%. Hasil penilaian kepraktisan E-Modul yang diperoleh dari respon guru sebesar 93,6%, dan persentase kepraktisan yang didapatkan dari respon peserta didik sebesar 89,6%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data disimpulkan bahwa E-Modul biologi pada materi pembelahan sel SMA kelas XII yang dikembangkan bersifat valid dan praktis.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the influence of the SIRI learning model, namely learning based on integrated problem solving in Indonesian Siri' culture in improving the critical thinking skills of biology students. This experimental research was conducted with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design and involved 109 biology students at Universitas Negeri Makassar, Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika, and Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat, Indonesia. Data was collected using a critical thinking skills essay test. A critical thinking skills rubric was used to assess student answers and the results were analyzed using ANCOVA at a significance level of 0.05. Research findings show that there is an influence of the SIRI learning model on the critical thinking skills of biology students. The LSD test results show that the critical thinking skills of the SIRI class are significantly different from those of the PBL class and conventional class. It was concluded that the SIRI learning model could improve biology students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of SIRI learning model in empowering scientific attitudes in biology students. This experimental study was conducted with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design and involved 95 biology students at Makassar State University, Indonesia. Data were collected using a scientific attitude questionnaire. The scientific attitude rubric was used to assess students' statements and the results were analyzed using ANCOVA at the 0.05 level of significance. The findings showed that there was an effect of SIRI learning model on scientific attitudes in biology students. The LSD test results also showed that the scientific attitude scores using the SIRI model were significantly different from the STAD learning model and the lecture model class. It is concluded that the SIRI learning model can improve scientific attitudes in biology students.
