Abstract

Solving natural disaster problems, especially floods, requires community participation. One of the efforts that can be done is by implementing the environmental supplement book of flood disasters based on innovation learning model for natural science and environmental learning (ILMIZI). The purpose of this research was to implement a supplementary book to improve university students’ higher order thinking skills (HOTS) and pro-environmental behavior (PEB). This was an experiment method consisting of experimental class and control class. The samples were 115 university students with 60 university students in experimental class and 55 university students in control class. The data analysis was a t-test that aims to test the significance of the difference in the mean HOTS and PEB scores for the experimental class and the control class. In addition to the t-test, descriptive analysis was also carried out by comparing the HOTS and PEB scores between the experimental class and the control class. The results of this study indicated that the t-test results were significant, which means that supplement books could increase HOTS and PEB of university students. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that university students were still weak in flood mitigation efforts related to the provision of disaster evacuation tools. In an effort to prevent disasters, it was necessary to innovate environmental learning to support sustainability. A conclusion can be drawn that the use of supplementary books can increase university students’ HOTS and PEB.

Abstract

This study investigated the use of i-THINK Mapping in teaching reading comprehension by ESL teachers to a group of Form Five students, and the factors and challenges the ESL teachers faced in teaching reading comprehension using i-THINK Mapping. A qualitative approach, specifically a case study design, was employed in this study. Classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis of their lesson plans were used to collect the data. Four ESL teachers with a minimum of 5-year teaching experience in a rural secondary school in Hulu Selangor, Malaysia, were selected using a purposive sampling technique to participate in this study. Thematic analysis was used to analyse the data obtained from classroom observations and interviews. The findings show that the teachers had applied five i-THINK maps, including a Circle Map to define in context, a Bubble Map to describe, a Double Bubble Map to compare and contrast, a Flow Map to show the sequence of an event, and a Tree Map to classify different ideas. The i-THINK Mapping motivated the students to discuss, brainstorm, and cooperate with their peers to detect the details from the given reading texts. The teachers’ challenges include the time constraints in preparing the lesson with i-THINK Mapping and a low level of student English proficiency. One implication of this study is that teachers’ use of i-THINK Mapping to teach reading comprehension could assist students in generating ideas, expanding ideas, and expressing them orally.

Abstract

Tingkat kecelakaan berkendara dan berlalu lintas di Indonesia masih cukup tinggi. Masih banyak masyarakat yang tidak menerapkan kesadaran berkendara dan berlalu lintas seperti tidak memakai helm bagi pengendara sepeda motor sehingga keselamatan dan kenyamanan berkendara dapat terancam. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) bertujuan memberikan sosialisasi terhadap peningkatan kesadaran berkendara dan berlalu lintas di jalan raya kepada guru dan siswa/i SMK Yapinuh Pantai Sederhana, Kecamatan Muara Gembong, Kabupaten Bekasi, Jawa Barat. Experimental “one group pre-test post-test design” digunakan dalam penelitian ini dan analisa data dengan Teknik Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test karena data bersifat non parametrik. Terlihat dari hasil uji normalitas data diperoleh satu kelompok bernilai sig. (p value) ≤ 0,05 maka Ha diterima artinya data tidak berdistribusi normal (Kolmogorov Smirnov sebesar 0,024 < 0,05 dan Shapirowilk sebesar 0,084 > 0,05). Kesimpulan dari kegiatan PkM ini diperoleh peningkatan pengetahuan dari 30 responden terhadap tentang berlalu lintas di jalan raya sebesar 23,67. Dari perhitungan probabilitas/tingkat signifikansi Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,000 (p value ≤ 0,05) maka H0 ditolak atau ada perbedaan nilai pre-test dan post-test Guru dan Siswa/I sebelum dan setelah diberikan sosialisasi.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan ini memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang dampak buruk dan cara pencegahan dari perubahan iklim. Memberikan penguatan kepada masyarakat pasca bencana agar mereka mampu, tangguh, adaptif dan siap menghadapi bencana dimasa depan. Metode dalam kegiatan ini ceramah, demonstrasi, dan diskusi yang dilakukan penyuluhan dengan tahap (1) tahap perencanaan penyuluhan, (2) pelaksanaan penyuluhan secara luring, dan (3) evaluasi kegiatan penyuluhan dengan pre-test dan post test. Hasil yang diperoleh peran keluarga dalam pengembangan karakter anak, meningkatkan gizi untuk mencegah stunting, masalah sanitasi yang baik, dan peran keluarga dalam pengembangan kewirausahaan, memerlukan pengetahuan dan pemahaman yang lebih baik lagi agar terjadi peningakatan yang maksimal. Sehingga diperlukan pendidikan untuk memberikan pengetahuan perihal ketahanan pascabencana dalam keluarga.

Abstract

Abstract Environmental problems are problems that must be faced from time to time. The environmental problem that must be faced at this time is climate change. Climate change is a condition where there is a change in weather patterns on a global scale in the long term. Many of the triggers for climate change are caused by human activities and lifestyles themselves. Education is urgently needed regarding environmental management to prevent climate change, especially for students at Yapinuh Vocational School, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi. The methods used in this activity are lectures, demonstrations, and discussions. The results found were that Yapinuh Vocational School students lacked knowledge about climate change prior to holding educational activities related to empowering knowledge on climate change issues. After holding education related to empowering knowledge on the issue of climate change, the knowledge of Yapinuh Vocational School students, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi, began to increase. The results showed that there was an average increase between the pre-test and post-test, namely 0.088 and 0.28. Thus the material presented is clear and can be understood by Yapinuh Vocational High School students related to climate change issues. Abstrak Permasalahan lingkungan merupakan permasalahan yang harus dihadapi dari waktu ke waktu. Permasalahan lingkungan yang harus dihadapi pada saat ini adalah perubahan iklim. Perubahan iklim adalah kondisi dimana terjadi perubahan pola cuaca pada skala global secara jangka panjang. Pemicu perubahan iklim sendiri banyak dilakukan oleh aktivitas dan gaya hidup manusia itu sendiri. Sangat diperlukan edukasi terkait pengelolaan lingkungan untuk mencengah perubahan iklim yang terjadi khusunya pada siwa siswi SMK Yapinuh Kecamatan Muara Gembong, Bekasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah, demonstrasi, dan diskusi. Hasil yang didapati adalah masih kurangnya pengetahuan tentang perubahan iklim pada siswa siswi SMK Yapinuh sebelum diadakannya kegiatan edukasi terkait pemberdayaan pengetahuan dalam isu perubahan iklim. Setelah diadakannya edukasi terkait pemberdayaan pengetahuan dalam isu perubahan iklim pengetahuan siswa siswi SMK Yapinuh Kecamatan Muara Gembong, Bekasi mulai meningkat. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan rata-rata antara pre-test dan post-test, yaitu 0,088 dan 0,28. Dengan demikian materi yang disampaikan jelas dan dapat dipahami oleh para peserta didik SMK Yapinuh terkait dengan isu perubahan iklim.

Abstract

Knowledge of disaster mitigation is the most essential component and a key factor for preparedness. The possessed knowledge typically influences attitudes and concerns, fostering readiness to anticipate disasters. Vocational High School students should be informed about the various disasters that frequently occur in their areas, as well as the procedures to face sudden disasters. The significant loss of lives and various damages to buildings and facilities in the vicinity underscore the need for a deeper examination of mitigation efforts. The objective of this study is to assess the level of understanding and preparedness of Vocational High School students regarding earthquake natural disasters. The research method employed is quantitative, with descriptive statistics as the analytical technique. The instruments used include test instruments and non-test instruments utilizing Google Forms to collect data from several Vocational High Schools in various cities in DKI Jakarta, Sukabumi, and Tangerang. The research findings reveal that 42% of students are unaware of earthquake disaster mitigation measures. Additionally, 69% of students lack knowledge about minimizing damage from earthquakes in terms of building construction. Furthermore, 65% of students are unfamiliar with images related to earthquake-resistant construction. Moreover, 52% of students still do not know the local earthquake resilience features of earthquake-resistant houses. Lastly, 52% exhibit a panicky attitude, hastily evacuating buildings during an earthquake. The conclusion drawn from this research is that the knowledge of Vocational High School students regarding earthquake disasters and their mitigation measures is still low.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis perspektif penumpang terkait fenomena tersebut yang disesuaikann dengan Peraturan Menteri Perhubungan No. 62 Tahun 2019 mengenai Standar Pelayanan Minimum dan teori Kualitas Pelayanan (Bukti Fisik dan Kehandalan). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Pada penelitian ini, teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teori dari Miles&Huberman yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan akhir. Hasil penelitian dengan judul perspektif penumpang terhadap kualitas fasilitas infrastruktur di terminal eksekutif merak dengan indikator penilaian keselamatan, keamanan, kenyamanan dan kemudahan secara keseluruhan mendapatkan perspektif yang cukup baik dari penumpang, namun ada beberapa hal yang diperlu ditingkatkan, seperti petugas keamanan, ruang kesehatan yang keberadaan dan fungsional diragukan oleh penumpang dan persediaan fasilitas penunjang.

Abstract

Abstract The ease of use of private vehicles, both motorbikes and cars, among the public for traveling is very widespread. Based on this, it has an impact on the high rate of road accidents experienced by teenagers. One of the causes is low knowledge about traffic and road transport regulations and lack of orderly behavior when driving. The following are examples of school-age children who are not orderly when riding motorbikes, such as without wearing a helmet, not obeying traffic signs, and not completing vehicle documents, including many underage students who drive their motorized vehicles. The newest phenomenon is Blindspot. A blind spot is a position where a driver cannot see the position of a nearby vehicle or cannot see a vehicle that will pass in front of him because his view is blocked by another vehicle, and vice versa. The blind spot phenomenon often occurs nowadays and makes it important to disseminate and educate about blind spot knowledge. Ease of providing knowledge can also be done with Virtual Reality media. Virtual reality helps participants interact with conditions according to reality without having to come into direct contact in the field so socialization activities are carried out using Virtual Reality. Keyword: The ease of use, Blindspot, Virtual Reality     Abstrak Kemudahan penggunaan kendaraan pribadi baik motor maupun mobil dikalangan masyarakat untuk bepergian sangat meluas. Berdasarkan hal tersebut berdampak tingginya tingkat kecelakaan di jalan yang dialami oleh usia remaja. Salah satunya penyebabnya adalah rendahnya pengetahuan tentang peraturan lalu lintas dan angkutan jalan dan adanya sikap perilaku yang kurang tertib saat berkendaraan. Berikut contoh dari anak usia sekolah yang tidak tertib dalam mengendarai sepeda motor seperti, tanpa memakai helm, tidak mematuhi rambu-rambu lalu lintas dan tidak melengkapi dokumen kendaraan, termasuk banyak pelajar belum cukup umur yang mengendarai kendaraan bermotor sendiri. Fenomena yang terbaru adalah Blind spot. Blind spot adalah posisi di mana seorang pengendara tidak dapat melihat posisi kendaraan di dekatnya atau tidak dapat melihat kendaraan yang akan  melintas di depannya karena terhalang pandangannya oleh kendaraan lain, begitu pula sebaliknya. Fenomena blind spot kerap terjadi saat ini dan menjadikan penting untuk dilakukan sosialisasi dan edukasi pengetahuan blind spot. Kemudahan dalam memberikan pengetahuan dapat juga dilakukan dengan media Virtual Reality. Virtual reality membantu peserta berinteraksi dengan kondisi sesuai kenyataan tanpa harus bersentuhan langsung di lapangan sehingga kegiatan sosialisasi dilakukan dengan cara Virtual Reality. Abstract

Pendidikan lingkungan merupakan salah satu pendekatan yang diharapkan membawa solusi untuk perbaikan lingkungan yang ada di sekitar. SMKN 4 Tangerang Selatan yang menjadi tempat penelitian ini juga telah mengembangkan pengetahuan akan pengelolaan lingkungan dengan ekskul lingkungan hidup. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Analisis yang dilakukan diawali dengan tahap pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder hingga tahap akhir yaitu tahap analisis dan penafsiran data yang telah diolah. Pada tahap pengumpulan data menggunakan metode kuesioner/angket yang berupa pernyataan dengan jumlah responden 50 siswa. Terdapat 62 butir pernyataan yang diujikan dan terbagi ke dalam tiga variabel. Untuk variabel sikap masuk kedalam kategori sangat baik dengan memperoleh nilai 82,7% selanjutnya keterampilan juga masuk kedalam kategori sangat baik dengan 85,4% dan terakhir pengetahuan mengelola lingkungan masuk kedalam kriteria sangat baik pula dengan skor 91,4%. Untuk hasil kuesioner didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa sikap dan keterampilan dapat memengaruhi secara positif dan signifikan terhadap pengetahuan mengelola lingkungan hidup baik secara parsial dengan ditunjukan oleh nilai thitung nya lebih besar daripada t tabel maupun secara simultan yang ditunjukan dengan Fhitung lebih besar daripada Ftabel. Variabel yang paling dominan dalam memengaruhi pengetahuan mengelola lingkungan yaitu variabel sikap.

Abstract

Many small and medium entrepreneurs hope to develop their business by exporting their products to a wider market. However, rarely do entrepreneurs think of being able to try out the export market in order to expand their market reach. Even this tax issue between exports and imports has different regulations. When we import goods, almost all goods was subject to import taxes. Meanwhile, when exporting our products overseas, not all products are subject to export taxes and customs duties. The methods used was (1) preparation (2) implementation and (3) reporting. With this training, we hope that the public will understand more that the constraints during export and import were not too difficult to apply. We chose Bekasi city as a place for this export training, not only because of the mapping and work locations that have been determined by the university, but also because this area had many small and medium business community pockets.
