Abstract

Abstract: The 21st century demands critical thinking skills, a competence often underdeveloped by conventional elementary teaching methods. This creates a significant gap, particularly in contexts like Indonesia's Terdepan, Terluar, dan Tertinggal (3T) regions where students are vulnerable to misinformation. This qualitative case study thus aimed to analyze how the "Philosophy for Children" (P4C) approach, integrated within a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, can cultivate critical thinking skills in elementary school students. The research involved 10 sixth-grade students and the researcher as a teacher-facilitator. Data were collected over three learning sessions via participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal that this P4C-PBL implementation effectively fostered critical thinking, manifesting in three central themes: (1) a cognitive shift from passive information reception to critical inquiry and skepticism towards media messages; (2) an evolution in thought from personal issues to nuanced ethical reasoning and collaborative action; and (3) the teacher's pivotal role as an architect of a democratic and humanist learning community. This study underscores the urgent need for a pedagogical paradigm shift in primary education to empower students with robust critical thinking capabilities. Abstrak: Abad ke-21 menuntut keterampilan berpikir kritis, suatu kompetensi yang seringkali kurang berkembang akibat metode pengajaran konvensional di tingkat sekolah dasar. Hal ini menciptakan kesenjangan yang signifikan, terutama di wilayah-wilayah seperti Terdepan, Terluar, dan Tertinggal (3T) di Indonesia, di mana siswa rentan terhadap informasi yang menyesatkan. Studi kasus kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pendekatan “Filsafat untuk Anak-Anak” (P4C), yang diintegrasikan dalam model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBL), dapat mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini melibatkan 10 siswa kelas enam dan peneliti sebagai guru fasilitator. Data dikumpulkan selama tiga sesi pembelajaran melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa implementasi P4C-PBL ini secara efektif mengembangkan pemikiran kritis, yang tercermin dalam tiga tema utama: (1) pergeseran kognitif dari penerimaan informasi pasif menjadi penyelidikan kritis dan skeptisisme terhadap pesan media; (2) perkembangan pemikiran dari masalah pribadi menjadi penalaran etis dan tindakan kolaboratif; dan (3) peran sentral guru sebagai arsitek komunitas belajar demokratis dan humanis. Studi ini menekankan kebutuhan mendesak akan pergeseran paradigma pedagogis dalam pendidikan dasar untuk memberdayakan siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang kokoh.

Abstract

Imagination in education is considered to be just imagination, illusion and fantasy due to a lack of knowledge of the nature of imagination itself. This research will comprehensively discuss the fundamentals of imagination in education. The method used uses literature studies that elaborate and examine and critically sort literature sources that are relevant to the topic being researched to produce quality research. The research results show that imagination plays a very fundamental role in education, this is proven by imagination as a source of knowledge where imagination is not limited by binding principles of thought. Imagination is the result of human sensory experience which is depicted by producing ideas, thoughts or works that are original and authentic. Futuristic pedagogy is a bridge in connecting imagination with education that prioritizes the principle of humans as multidimensional creatures who have the ability to think about the future, overcome problems and answer future challenges, to provide solutions to issues in society.

Abstract

Prophetic-based character education should be implemented to students. This is because by applying this, the demoralization of students' character can be prevented as seen from previous research results and discussions covering topics such as prophetic pedagogy addressing character decadence, prophetic pedagogical values in Islamic religious education, and strengthening the orientation of Islamic religious identity in prophetic pedagogy. This study uses a qualitative method of literature study (library research) in collecting its data. The literature study conducted is elaborating data and information obtained from books, journals, news, and other credible references related to the discussed topics or issues raised to strengthen the data and information being examined. The results of this study indicate that character education based on prophetic pedagogy is able to overcome student demoralization by considering prophetic pedagogical values such as humanization, liberation, and transcendence which are in line with Islamic religious education that makes the behavior of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a reference in daily life behavior.

Abstract

The quality of our future lives depends on how we prepare for it today. Education plays a crucial role in preparing individuals to be globally competitive. Teachers, as the spearhead of civilization, must bring fresh perspectives in facilitating students to acquire 21st-century skills and competencies. Preparing for this necessitates discussing the urgency of teachers' pedagogical competencies in 21st-century learning through a critical study of futuristic pedagogy. This research will delve into the importance of teachers possessing futuristic pedagogical competencies to prepare for a prosperous life in the 21st century. A critical and comprehensive discussion on pedagogical competencies for 21st-century teachers and futuristic pedagogy theories will be conducted using the library research method to gather relevant data supporting the topic under review. The result of this research is that teachers with pedagogical competencies, particularly futuristic pedagogy, can guide students in developing critical, creative, and collaborative skills that meet 21st-century demands, preparing them to be future leaders and innovators. Therefore, investing in the development of teachers' pedagogical competencies in the context of 21st-century learning and conducting a critical review of futuristic pedagogy is a crucial step in ensuring that education remains relevant and positively impacts the development of students and society as a whole.

Abstract

The concept of learning freedom for students has become fundamental for achieving learning freedom so that students have critical thinking, freedom of expression, and student independence, especially in the educational context. The aim of the research is to comprehensively examine the concept of freedom of learning which is oriented towards a critical study approach with a theoretical basis as a reference which is seen from the correlation of freedom of learning and critical pedagogy reviewed from the perspective of experts in building paradigms and implementing the concept, problems in implementation from freedom to learn, especially in Indonesia, as well as the importance of freedom to learn for society to create superior people. This research uses the literature study method to process and elaborate various critically selected studies so that they are relevant to the discussion raised, which will produce quality discussion. The results of the research studied show several things in the context of freedom of learning in education which has a fundamental portion in building several characters such as critical thinking, freedom of expression and student independence, this is still lacking in the final results because both the quality of learning and the teaching staff are not yet able to is at that level with various kinds of obstacles so that the implementation of freedom of learning is not yet effective. In reality, students are still objects in education so that students become passive consumers of communication. With this, it is hoped that the research that has been carried out will be able to make a contribution in inspiring and improving implementation using a pedagogical approach.

Abstract

In the present day, where technology aligns with the advancement of time, a crucial challenge in the field of education is how to link the curriculum to the needs of the era along with its development. Multiliteracy pedagogy is expected to offer a new perspective to address the demands of the 21st century. The purpose of this research is to examine comprehensively and critically by relating relevant theories to the presence of multiliteracy pedagogy for learning based on the independent curriculum, while also addressing the challenges or demands of the times. The method used is literature study, employing techniques for gathering information and references related to the topic discussed in the research. This study concludes that multiliteracy pedagogy is considered highly relevant in promoting high-order thinking skills, critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and enhancing digital literacy, creativity, and collaboration—essential aspects in the development of the 21st century.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the urgency of character education oriented towards prophetic pedagogy in addressing students' moral crises. The discussion will delve into the concept of prophetic pedagogy, the values inherent within it, and how this approach can be implemented in the context of modern education. The research method employed in this study is a literature review method, which comprehensively elaborates on references from books, research journals, and other sources using Google Scholar and Garuda databases to enrich data and strengthen the discussion to remain relevant to the topic. The results of the research indicate that character education oriented towards prophetic pedagogy fundamentally aims to emphasize the understanding and practice of values such as honesty, compassion, and empathy. This form of character education can shape individuals with strong moral awareness and responsibility, capable of addressing moral decline by strengthening their moral foundation in accordance with religious teachings and spiritual traditions.

Abstract

Global trends including technological advances, social and economic changes require a rapid response from the education system. The year 2045 brings undeniable challenges in terms of global transformation. The aim of this research is to analyze the important role of futuristic pedagogy in overcoming various challenges in 21st century learning to build Indonesia's future golden generation in facing the global megatrend of 2045. This research uses a literature study method to explore the urgency of futuristic pedagogy in shaping the future golden generation Indonesia in facing the 2045 global megatrend. In facing the challenges of the 2045 global megatrend, a futuristic pedagogical approach is crucial for the world of Indonesian education. The integration of technology in learning, the development of 21st century skills, project and simulation-based learning, and differentiated and personalized learning help prepare young people to face the complex dynamics of the future. The teacher's role is key in facilitating the use of technology as an effective learning tool, while encouraging students to develop a deep understanding of an ever-evolving world.

Abstract

In achieving the goal of Golden Indonesia 2045, not only is economic progress the main focus, but also the development of strong and integrity-filled character. The foundation of character education for Indonesia's golden generation is a desire in the shift towards successful education in Indonesia. The aim of this research is to review from a critical pedagogical perspective the importance of reorienting character education towards Golden Indonesia 2045. The research method used is a literature study, which is a research technique based on collecting data from literature relevant to the research topic, then analyzing and interpreting it to gain a better understanding of the topic. The results of the discussion from this research are the challenges of character decadence faced by the Indonesian nation in achieving Golden Indonesia 2045, the correlation between Golden Indonesia 2045 and critical pedagogy, and the envisioned future Indonesian human. By strengthening character values through a critical and inclusive approach, it is hoped that the future generation will become agents of change who positively contribute to the nation's progress and realize the vision of Indonesia as a developed and civilized country by 2045.

Abstract

The values of Pancasila are increasingly fading due to numerous disparities stemming from a lack of societal awareness to practice Pancasila values in daily life. Moreover, data indicates that Indonesian society is significantly detached from the ideals of Indonesian humanity, which highly regards Pancasila as a philosophy of state life. The purpose of this research is to theoretically analyze and critically study character education that can strengthen Pancasila values among the Indonesian people from a pedagogical perspective. By utilizing the literature study method (library research), data is collected to understand and examine theories from various literatures related to the critically reviewed research title. The research findings indicate a correlation between character education oriented towards Pancasila and pedagogy, where their close relationship aligns with the ultimate goals of Indonesia's national education. These goals include developing individuals according to their potential, understanding the essence of humanity and education, and becoming beings of existence and multidimensionality who are capable of implementing the noble values of Pancasila.
