Abstract

This research was motivated by the large number of consumer requests for mechanics in workshops to replace the radiator coolant in diesel engines with reguler water. This research used an experimental research approach. The experimental research was often used to find the effect of existing variable and to test the hypotheses. Based on the results of testing and data analysis that have been carried out can be seen: there was an average decrease in the temperature of the cooling media from the engine due to using the cooling media from the manufacturer, a decrease in the rate of heat dissipation between reguler water and Prestone on each rotation with an average of 4.97%, the water with TOP 1 Coolant 5.11% and the water with Toyota SLCC at 6.64%. Based on the analysis of research data and statistical tests, it was concluded that the use of cooling media from the manufacturer can increase the heat transfer coefficient of the working fluid of the radiator, so that it can reduce the engine heat level and increase the rate of coolant heat dissipation. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya permintaan konsumen kepada mekanik di bengkel untuk mengganti air radiator pada mesin diesel dengan air biasa Penelitian ini digolongkan pada penelitian pendekatan eksperimen. Penelitian eksperimen sering digunakan untuk mencari pengaruh di antara variabel-variabel yang ada serta untuk pengujian hipotesis. Hasil pengujian dan analisis data yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui: Terdapat rata-rata penurunan suhu media pendingin dari mesin akibat menggunakan media pendingin asal pabrikan, penurunan laju pembuangan panas antara air biasa dengan Prestone pada masing-masing putaran dengan rata-rata 4,97%, air dengan TOP 1 Coolant 5,11% dan air dengan Toyota SLCC sebesar 6,64%. Berdasarkan analisis data penelitian dan uji statistik yang dilakukan disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pendingin asal pabrikan dapat memperbesar koefisien perpindahan panas fluida kerja radiator sehingga dapat menurunkan tingkat panas mesin dan meningkatkan laju pembuangan panas cairan pendingin

Abstract

The rapid influence of the rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) requires educators to harness the technological results in the learning process and gain access to broader (global) knowledge. Likewise educators are required to develop skills to make learning media so that learning can run effectively, interesting, generate motivation and provoke creativity of learners. This activity aims at (a) Developing teacher competence in designing instructional media based on information and communication technology (b) Developing teachers' skill in making learning media and (c) Increasing teacher's insight in utilizing technology and communication. Through the community service activities of the State University of Padang held training efforts to improve the ability of teachers in making meida learning based on information technology in SMKN 1 Batipuh. The method of devotion chosen is the training with the target of 25 teachers with the material of designing, manufacturing and using learning media with power point, lecture training method, question and answer, demonstration and workshop. Presentation of theory and practice held for 2 days located at SMKN 1 Batipuh West Sumatra. The result of the dedication activity is 25 participants have competence marked by the improvement indicator on the ability of designing, making and using learning media with power point.

Abstract

SMK students of Automotive department, Especially Light Vehicle Engineering, need some skills that will be used when students are finishing the study at school. One of the skill are they have good competency of electroni fuel injection system (EFI system). The purpose of the training program is to develop and improve the ability of automotive technology, especially ototronc technology, basic knowledge of EFI system, and to train and guide SMK student. For diagnostic and trouble shooting of EFI system. This training program uses the several method, i.e; presentation, watching video and animation of EFI system, discussion, demonstration, guidence and direct practical. After done this training, have improvement of knowledge and skill of trainee. On of indicator is improvement of postest value, i.e; have mean about 119% from pre-test value. Beside that, based on observation as long as training proggram, attitude and skills of trainees are better than befor.

Abstract

This research was aimed could reveal about program planning and program implementation at Heavy Equipment Technology subject in Automotive Department, Engineering Faculty, Padang State University, which refer to learning result. This research was evaluation research by using discrepancy model. Result of the research showed that program planning component got enough valuation (73,35%). While for program implementation of result section got good valuation (85,86%) and when refer to EMI LPTK Valuation Standard also belong good category (85,71%). Thus, the conclusion of this research could be revealed that for program planning of Heavy Equipment Technology learning program still needed to increase the quality. While for most learning result section in program implementation discrepancy was not occur at Heavy Equipment Technology learning in Automotive Department, Engineering Faculty, Padang State University.

Abstract

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan sekolah di daerah adalah keterbatasan akses informasi dan update teknologi yang cenderung lambat. Kondisi ini diperparah dengan keterbatasan peralatan serta ketersediaan fasilitas praktikum. Kondisi ini menjadi latar belakang penulis bersama tim untuk melaksanakan pengabdian masyarakat di SMK N 1 Kec. Luak. Kondisi sekolah yang masih tergolong baru menyisakan banyak permasalahan dalam kegiatan PBM. Mulai dari ketersediaan peralatan, ketersediaan sumber informasi dan update teknologi yang minim(Erzeddin Alwi, Nuzul Hidayat, Wanda Afnison, 2018).Kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan selama 4 hari dengan materi system bahan bakar injeksi (EFI). Materi ini dipilih karena permintaan sekolah yang memang masih minim informasi terkait sistem EFI. Kegiatan PKM dimulai dengan kegiatan pre test(Fernandez, Chandra, Maksum, & Afnison, 2018) di awal pertemuan, yang digunakan untuk pemetaan kompetensi siswa. Kegiatan PKM dibagi menjadi 2 kegiatan utama yaitu: teori dan praktik. Peserta dibekali materi teori terlebih dahulu sebelum melakukan praktik di workshop. Pada akhir kegiatan dilakukan post test sebagai bentuk evaluasi berupa ujian tulis.Dari hasil evaluasi diperoleh peningkatan pemahaman siswa terkait materi system bahan bakar injeksi (EFI) dengan rata-rata peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 10-15% tiap siswa. Kondisi ini cukup posistif mengingat kegiatan PKM yang dilaksanakan hanya 4 hari. Penulis berkeyakinan jika ini dilanjutkan secara terus menerus maka dapat berdampak kepada peningkatan kualitas PBM dan kualitas lulusan(Hidayat, Arif, Setiawan, & Afnison, 2018).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning model on learning outcomes and skills in Motorcycle Engineering courses for D3 Automotive Engineering students, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University. The research method used is an experiment with a modified pretest-posttest group research design. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling, with Group 1 as the experimental class and Group 2 as the control class. The analytical technique used is the average difference test, analysis of the influence between variables, and determination of the coefficient of determination. The results of the study obtained that the average learning outcomes and motorcycle engineering skills in the experimental class was 89.56 while the control class was 81.54. The analysis of the influence between variables resulted in a biserial coefficient of 0.59 for learning outcomes and 0.44 for Motorcycle Engineering skills. The calculation of the coefficient of determination shows that the application of the problem based learning model contributes 35.00% to learning outcomes and 19.34% to Motorcycle Engineering skills. The relationship between Motorcycle Engineering skills and learning outcomes in problem based learning model learning is 31.69%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model affects the learning outcomes and skills of Motorcycle Engineering students of D3 Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University on CVT Maintenance material.Keywords: learning outcomes, Motorcycle Engineering skills, problem based learning

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana peran kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru pada proses pembelajaran online di SD Negeri 53 Kampung Jambak, Kota Padang . (2) Untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana kinerja guru di SD Negeri 53 Kampung Jambak, Kota Padang . (3) Untuk mendeskripsikan faktor penghambat peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. (4) Untuk mendeskripsikansolusi dalam mengatasi hambatan yang terjadi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengambilan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, display data, serta verifikasi dan penegasan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan: (1) Peran kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru pada proses pembelajaran secara online telahterlaksana dengan baik, meskipun ada beberapa hambatan. (2) Kinerja guru sudah menerapkan tiga indicatoryaitu kepribadian dan dedikasi, proses seperti pengembangan profesi, hasil seperti kemampuan mengajar. (3) Penghambat kurangnya keahlian guru dalam penggunaan media internet untuk pembelajaran online, peserta didik yang tidak memiliki android, dan kurangnya perhatian orangtua. 4. Solusinya guru wajib mengikuti pelatihan, pembinaan, sosialisasi terhadap wali murid dan kunjungan guru kerumah peserta didik. Abstract

The dream of a 'link and match' between schools and industry to become a reality is a big target to be achieved by the government. For that we need the support of superior human resources (HR) so that development can run well. One of the concepts of the learning approach carried out by the Ministry of Education and Culture is for schools to produce superior human resources in accordance with the needs of the industrial world through the teaching factory (TEFA) program. Recent research has demonstrated an urgent need for future engineers. This research is a continuous experimental study for 2 semesters by applying it to all samples, to see if there is a significant effect on TEFA. Research that uses the Ex-Post Facto approach. The population in this study were students of the Heavy Equipment Engineering Department at SMK Negeri 1 Guguak. The sample is class XI students of the Heavy Equipment Engineering Department who have obtained the Teaching Factory Learning Model as many as 32 people who were selected using a non-probability technique, namely Purposive Sampling. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The result of t-test is smaller than t-table (-0.381 < 1.697). This shows that the negative effect of the application of (TEFA) on the Learning Outcomes of Class XI Students in Powertrain and Undercarriage subjects is not only insignificant or very small, it can even be said to have no effect.
