Abstract

This work reports on social service activities at the Department of Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang. This activity is targeted at out-of-school youth in Karang Taruna. The service is carried out in order to increase knowledge and skills in repairing and maintaining the Air Conditioner (AC) system in cars. Through this program, it is hoped that new experiences and knowledge can benefit the people of Karang Taruna. This program is carried out by delivering the basic theory of the car air conditioner working system. The activity is carried out using an AC system trainer. The participants were given an understanding of the methodology, the system of the refrigerants, and how to maintenance or repair the car's air conditioning system. The success rate of this activity is evidenced by the results of the post-test, in which an increment in the average score of 14.4 points.

Abstract

Yang termasuk dalam ekosistem kendaraan listrik yaitu kendaraan listrik itu sendiri, masyarakat, dan insfrastruktur pendukungnya seperti produsen kendaraan listrik yang ada di kota padang, SPKLU, dan dealer/bengkel resmi yang sudah memiliki kemampuan untuk melakukan perbaikan atau perawatan kendaraan listrik. Kendaraan listrik yang dimaksudkan di sini adalah Mobil listrik dan sepeda motor listrik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan desain penelitiannya deskriptif yaitu dengan observasi, wawancara,atau angket mengenai keadaan saat ini. Hasil penelitian yang di dapatkan yaitu sudah terdapat 5 dealer kendaraan di padang yang sudah memasarkan kendaraan listrik dengan plat seri Kota Padang seperti Wuling 14 unit, Hyundai 5 unit, 2 unit, U-Winfly 2 unit, dan Kodha E-Bike juga telah menjual 2 unit. The elements included in the electric vehicle ecosystem are the electric vehicles themselves, the community, and the supporting infrastructure such as electric vehicle manufacturers in the city of Padang, electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU), and authorized dealers/workshops that have the capability to perform repairs or maintenance on electric vehicles. The electric vehicles referred to here are electric cars and electric motorcycles. This research employs a qualitative research method with a descriptive research design, which involves observation, interviews, or questionnaires about the current situation. The obtained research results indicate that there are already 5 vehicle dealers in Padang that have marketed electric vehicles with the Padang City series license plate, including Wuling with 14 units, Hyundai with 5 units, 2 units, U-Winfly with 2 units, and Kodha E-Bike, which has also sold 2 units.

Abstract

Minimnya minat siswa terhadap menjadi mekanik mencerminkan rendahnya motivasi dan prestasi belajar mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai pengaruh minat menjadi mekanik terhadap motivasi dan prestasi belajar siswa kelas XII TKR di SMKN 1 Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan angket untuk mengukur minat dan motivasi serta tes sebagai instrumen penilaian. Hasil analisis dengan menggunakan metode Hotelling's Trace menunjukkan bahwa minat siswa berkontribusi signifikan terhadap motivasi dan prestasi belajar siswa, dengan nilai signifikansi yang sangat rendah (0,000), menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat. Nilai Hotelling's Trace sekitar 0,512 menunjukkan pengaruh yang cukup besar. The students' lack of interest in becoming mechanics reflects their low motivation and academic performance. This study aims to assess the influence of an interest in becoming a mechanic on the motivation and academic achievement of 12th-grade TKR students at SMKN 1 Padang. The research utilizes questionnaires to measure interest and motivation, as well as tests as assessment instruments. The analysis results using the Hotelling's Trace method reveal that students' interest significantly contributes to their motivation and academic achievement, with a very low significance value (0.000), indicating a strong relationship. The Hotelling's Trace value of approximately 0.512 indicates a considerable impact.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi persepsi mahasiswa terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran partisipatif berbasis e-learning terhadap hasil belajar Teknologi Alat Berat di Departemen Teknik Otomotif Universitas Negeri Padang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan subjek penelitian berupa 60 mahasiswa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket untuk Pelaksanaan pembelajaran partisipatif berbasis e-learning (X), serta nilai akhir untuk hasil belajar (Y). Hasil penelitian menunjukan korelasi ini terbukti positif dan signifikan, dengan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0.000, lebih rendah dari tingkat signifikansi 0.05. Koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.714 menandakan korelasi yang kuat dan variabel pembelajaran partisipatif berbasis e-learning memberikan kontribusi sebesar 51% terhadap hasil belajar. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran partisipatif berbasis e-learning memiliki kontribusi signifikan terhadap pencapaian hasil belajar Teknologi Alat Berat. This study aims to determine the contribution of student perceptions to the implementation of e-learning-based participatory learning on the learning outcomes of heavy equipment technology at the Department of Automotive Engineering, Padang State University. The research method used was quantitative-descriptive, with research subjects in the form of 60 students. The instruments used are questionnaires for the implementation of participatory learning based on e-learning (X) as well as final grades for learning outcomes (Y). The results showed this correlation proved to be positive and significant, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, lower than the significance level of 0.05. A correlation coefficient of 0.714 indicates a strong correlation and e-learning-based participatory learning variables contribute 51% to learning outcomes. It can be concluded that e-learning-based participatory learning has a significant contribution to the achievement of learning heavy equipment technology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh penerapan kurikulum merdeka yang belum berjalan efektif di SMK Negeri 1 Dua Koto. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana kurikulum merdeka berkorelasi terhadap hasil belajar siswa mata pelajaran dasar-dasar otomotif kelas X TO. Metode penelitian menerapkan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi penelitian yaitu siswa kelas X TO 1 dan X TO 2 sebanyak 47 siswa. Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling yaitu seluruh siswa X TO 1 dan X TO 2. Hasil analisis data dengan pengujian hipotesis Pearson Product Moment Correlation nilai r sebesar 0,2955. Pada tingkat signifikansi 5% sebesar 0,2876 dalam kategori rendah. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara kurikulum merdeka terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran dasar-dasar otomotif kelas X TO SMK Negeri 1 Dua Koto. This research is motivated by the implementation of the independent curriculum which has not been effective at SMK Negeri 1 Dua Koto. This research aims to identify how the independent curriculum correlates with student learning outcomes in automotive basics class X TO. The research method applies quantitative correlational methods. The research population was 47 students in classes X TO 1 and X TO 2. The sample was determined using a total sampling technique, namely all students X TO 1 and X TO 2. The results of data analysis by testing the Pearson Product Moment Correlation hypothesis r value was 0.2955. At the 5% significance level it is 0.2876 in the low category. It was concluded that there was a correlation between the independent curriculum and student learning outcomes in the automotive basics subject class X TO SMK Negeri 1 Dua Koto.

Abstract

Polusi udara akibat gas buang dari kendaraan memberikan dampak negatif pada sistem pernapasan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan agar mengetahui perbedaan emisi gas dan temperatur bodi mesin sepeda motor 4 langkah 110cc melalui pencampuran pertalite dengan minyak serai wangi - octane booster, dengan metode eksperimen. Pengujian dilakukan dengan tiga tahap pengujian yaitu menggunakan pertalite murni, pertalite dengan campuran serai wangi 5% dan 10% - octane booster 5% dan 10% dengan putaran mesin dari 1500 rpm hingga 7500 rpm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan campuran pertalite + serai wangi dan octane booster mengalami peningkatan temperatur bodi mesin pada setiap putaran mesin dan pada emisi gas buang peningkatan hanya terjadi pada putaran mesin rendah yaitu 1500 RPM, sedangkan putaran mesin diatasnya mengalami penurunan emisi gas buang. This study aims to determine the difference in gas emissions and body temperature of a 4-stroke 110cc motorcycle engine through mixing pertalite with citronella oil - octane booster, with experimental methods. Tests were carried out with three stages of testing, namely using pure pertalite, pertalite with a mixture of citronella 5% and 10% - octane booster 5% and 10% with engine speed from 1500 rpm to 7500 rpm. The findings demonstrated that utilizing a combination of pertalite + citronella and octane booster increased engine body temperature at each engine speed and exhaust emissions increased only at low engine speeds of 1500 RPM, while engine speeds above decreased exhaust emissions

Abstract

The main aim of SMK is to prepare students to have the practical skills and knowledge needed to enter the world of work. After completing education at vocational school, students can immediately work or choose to continue their education to a higher level. The alignment between the vocational school curriculum and industry demands, especially in graduate skills training (link and match), is currently not yet optimal so it is not adequate to meet the needs of the world of work, industry and business. Even though certain efforts and policies have been made, there are still a number of problems faced by vocational school students. At SMKN 1 Koto Baru, one of the fundamental problems that need special attention in learning is the lack of availability of Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) competencies. This skill is a very important competency, especially in the Motorcycle Engineering and Business (TBSM) program. The results of observations in schools show that practical equipment for both teachers in the teaching process and for students as practical objects is sufficient and always updated. This happens because SMKN 1 Koto Baru has workshop and laboratory facilities which are equipped with adequate equipment. Apart from that, the instruments used in the practicum are good and can be operated according to the standards they should be. Therefore, training was carried out on the use of the smart simulator to increase learning activities because it involved technology in this training which provided new experiences to students. From the results of the activity, it can be seen that students are very enthusiastic and have increased activity in learning because they can carry out a more complete and clear exploration of learning about the EFI system on motorbikes

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan studi literatur tentang teknologi untuk mendidik anak-anak Tunarungu atau Sulit Mendengar (Deaf or Hard of Hearing (D/HH)). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan sebanyak 21 artikel yang diterbitkan antara 2010 dan 2020 untuk dilakukan analisis bukti empiris mengenai pengalaman pendidikan anak-anak dan bagaimana penggunaan teknologi dapat mempengaruhi lingkungan ini. Kami mengevaluasi artikel tersebut berdasarkan kategori berikut: usia, tingkat kelas, teknologi, dan topik yang diajarkan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi untuk tujuan pendidikan memiliki hasil positif seperti bahasa isyarat dan penguasaan kosakata untuk anak-anak. Namun, pedoman aksesibilitas harus dipertimbangkan ketika mengembangkan teknologi untuk Tunarungu.

Abstract

Fertilizing is one of the important activities in palm oil cultivation which is high cost, because of that we must find ways to increase its effectivity and efficiency. Semi Mechanical Manuring (SMM) is a breakthrough in fertilizing which used in Kebun Bekiun, PT. Langkat Nusantara Kepong. This Research is held in Divisi III, Kebun Bekiun, PT. Langkat Nusantara Kepong. Qualitative Description is used as research method with describe procedure operation and administration of this method. This Research shows that Kebun Bekiun has done 5 principles in fertilizing which are kind, method, time, place and dosage has been exactly by field assistant, plantation manager and head of plantation. SMM is mini truck modified to increase efficiency and effectivity of fertilizing. SMM is designed to cross all tracks in oil palm plantations and process of fertilizing will be faster than manual application and easier to control the field.  Price of fertilizer using SMM was Rp. 46/Kg cheaper than manual application. When the research was doing, this plantation needed to spread 6000 kg fertilize which were been broad to 107.989 palms with 2 kgs each palm; it means this plantation has efficiency Rp. 9.934.988,-/application. The efficiency come from the decrease of man power to spread the fertilize.

Abstract

This study discusses the distribution of heat in the drum brake system using the experimental method using drums as the braking medium. The test was carried out using the brake test prototype process with the application of press and release. The test data collection technique is using three methods, namely by applying the same amount of press and release of the brake (20 seconds of pressure and 20 seconds of release), the application of press and release of the brake is released more than pressed (30 seconds is released and 10 seconds is pressed), and the application of press and release is more pressed than released (20 seconds pressed and 10 seconds released). The results showed that the highest temperature obtained in the application of brakes for 20 seconds and release for 20 seconds on standard drum brakes reached 61.8 º C, while applying the brakes for 10 seconds and releasing them for 30 seconds reached 46.3 º C, and applying the brakes for 20 seconds and releasing them for 10 seconds achieved a temperature increase of 73.5 º C. Penelitian ini berdiskusi tentang distribusi panas pada sistem rem tromol dengan metode eksperimen menggunakan tromol sebagai media pengereman. Adapun teknik pengambilan data pengujian yaitu dengan tiga metode, yaitu dengan pengaplikasian tekan dan lepas rem sama banyak (20 detik tekan dan 20 detik lepas), pengaplikasian tekan dan lepas rem lebih banyak dilepas dari pada ditekan (30 detik dilepas dan 10 detik ditekan), dan pengaplikasian tekan dan lepas rem lebih banyak ditekan dari pada dilepas (20 detik ditekan dan 10 detik dilepas). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan suhu tertinggi yang didapatkan pada pengaplikasian rem selama 20 detik dan lepas selama 20 detik pada rem tromol standard mencapai 61,8oC, sementara pengaplikasian rem 10 detik dan lepas selama 30 detik mencapapi 46,3oC, dan pengaplikasian rem 20 detik dan lepas selama 10 detik mencapai kenaikan suhu 73,5oC.
