Abstract

Background. Research Background Foreign direct investment (FDI) is an important component in accelerating the economic growth of developing countries. As competitive tax rates can be an important factor in foreign investors' investment location selection, income tax policy has been the focus of attention in an effort to attract FDI. However, the real impact of these tax policies on foreign direct investment flows in developing countries is still in doubt. Purpose. This study aims to understand whether a reduction or increase in income tax rates has a significant impact on the amount and flow of foreign direct investment in developing countries, using panel data analysis. This research is expected to enhance the understanding of the role of tax policy in attracting FDI and its implications for the economic growth of developing countries. Method. Results. The analysis shows that developing countries' income tax policies and foreign direct investment are closely linked. The main results show that a reduction in income tax rates tends to increase foreign investment inflows, while an increase in rates can have the opposite effect. In addition, the interaction between tax policy and other economic components, such as political stability and infrastructure, also affects the impact of tax policy on FDI. Conclusion. This study shows that income tax policy plays an important role in determining the level of foreign direct investment in developing countries. Developing countries can increase foreign investment flows by lowering income tax rates. However, to create an effective policy, it is also necessary to consider other aspects such as political stability, regulation, and infrastructure.

Abstract

Background. Research Background The importance of occupational safety and health (OHS) standards to safeguard employee welfare and company performance, research on the review of companies' compliance with OHS through a field inspection approach is highly relevant. This background is due to the fact that OHS standards have been established and regulated, but companies' compliance with these standards is often inconsistent. Purpose. The objectives of this study are many-fold. As a first step, the study aimed to evaluate the company's level of compliance with applicable OHS standards. It is important to know the general level of compliance in the workplace. In addition, the purpose of the study was to find places where compliance may not be fully met. This identification can form the basis for improvement initiatives. Method. This study used the field inspection method, which involves a direct visit to a work site to observe and evaluate the implementation of occupational safety (OSH) standards. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with relevant personnel, and examination of OHS-related documents. A sample of companies was randomly selected from various industrial sectors to represent a wider range of people. Results. According to the study, there are differences in the level of companies' compliance with OHS standards. While some companies have low levels of compliance, others still have low levels of compliance. Compliance is often breached in areas such as the use of personal protective equipment, emergency evacuation procedures, and handling of hazardous chemicals. Lack of OHS training, lack of management oversight, and high production priorities are some of the factors affecting compliance. Conclusion. In conclusion, this study emphasizes how important it is to improve OHS standards in companies to make the working environment safer and healthier. Suggested improvements include more OHS training, more management supervision, and more sanctions for OHS violations.

Abstract

The integration of technology in education, especially cognitive technology, is important to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning assessment and evaluation process. Cognitive technology, which combines artificial intelligence and machine learning, offers new possibilities for adapting and personalizing learning experiences. However, its use in learning assessment is still limited and requires further investigation to identify its effectiveness. This research aims to analyze and evaluate the role of cognitive technology in learning assessment and evaluation. The main objective is to determine the extent to which this technology can improve the accuracy and relevance of feedback provided to students and explore the potential for improving learning outcomes through adapting learning content based on assessment data. This research uses quantitative methods with an experimental design. The research sample involved students at a university who used a cognitive technology-based assessment system during one academic semester. The results show that using cognitive technology in assessment can improve accuracy in diagnosing learning weaknesses and provide more personalized and timely feedback. Additionally, students who took assessments with cognitive technology showed greater improvements in academic achievement compared to a control group that did not use similar technology. This research concludes that integrating cognitive technology in learning assessment and evaluation offers great potential to improve the educational process by providing more relevant and personalized feedback. This technology supports teachers in identifying individual learning needs and helps students understand their weaknesses, facilitating more effective and efficient learning. Abstract

One of the impacts of the pandemic in the world of education is that the learning process must be carried out online. So efforts to provide learning media are too forced. Not only from an economic perspective, but also the ability to understand and use learning media. It takes creativity and solidarity between parents and teachers to outsmart and avoid bad things that will happen. The aim of this research is to determine the role of parents and determine teachers' strategies, designs and plans in determining learning media. This research uses qualitative methods using survey models and in-depth interviews. The results of this research are that parents and teachers have the same point of view and innovation in the use of learning media. This research confirms that the use of learning media is not only focused on learning objectives, but it is important to take into account several things: 1) how to select media, which consists of media selection models and reasons for using media. 2) media selection criteria consisting of the goals and objectives of media use, 3) media characteristics, 4) time and 5) cost of media use and 6) availability of the learning media. It is hoped that all steps chosen really take into account the principles of using learning media. Therefore, the limitation of this research is that researchers only focus on solution actions regarding innovation that make things easier for the parties involved in the learning process. It is hoped that future researchers can continue this research in certain subjects.
