Abstract

Background: Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by corona virus. Smokers are the most vulnerable group form Covid-1. Dirty hands can spread disease by providing entry to pathogens, bacteria, or viruses. Handwashing could be effective and efficient prevention to prevent covid-19 infection.Objective: To determine the relationship between gender and smoking habits, handwashing and nutritional behavior among respondents.Methods: A descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Respondents were 966 people who lived in Bengkulu Province. Data collection was carried out by online questionnaire which were distributed through WhatsApp media. Data analysis used the chi-square test.Results: There were significant relationship between gender and smoking habits (p = 0.003), gender and handwashing (p = 0.000), gender and nutritional behavior related with fresh food consumptions (p = 0.026). There were no relationship between gender and nutritional behavior related to preserved/instant foods consumption (p = 0.463), nutritional behavior and fruit-vegetable consumption habits (p = 0.090).Conclusion: There is a relationship between gender and smoking and handwashing habits.

Abstract

Background: Children who often suffered from diseases will affect their nutritional status.Purpose: To determine the risk factors of disease history with nutritional status among stunted children under-five in Pidie Jaya Regency.Methods: A descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Total sample were 34 children. Weaning initiation patterns and disease history were obtained through interviews with questionnaire. The nutritional status among children under five were measured by anthropometric. Data were analyzed using chi-square test.Results: Children's disease history in the last three months were correlated with the nutritional status on the HAZ index (P-value = 0.015 (0.05) with OR = 6.0. There was no correlation betweeen disease history with the nutritional status by WAZ and WHZ index (P-value 0.05).Conclusion: The history of the disease in the last 3 months has a significant relationship with HAZ of children under five.

Abstract

Background : Hypertension is a condition when systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure  ≥ 90 mmHg blood. One of herbal therapies to help lowering blood pressure is by utilizing foods which contain high potassium, such as bananas, melons, and young coconut water.Objective : To analyze the effect of banana melon and young coconut water pudding on lowering blood pressure levels of hypertensive patients at the Palembang Public Health Center.Method : A quasi-experimental study with pre and pos test control group design. The subjects were 60 hypertensive patients at Palembah PHC who were eagerly fulfilled inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis were used t-dependent and t-independent tests to analyze the effect of melon banana pudding and young coconut water with blood pressure.Results : The results showed there was an average decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the treatment group of 13.07 mmHg (p= 0.000) and 6.93 mmHg (p= 0,000). Consumption of banana melon pudding and young coconut water showed a significant effect on reducing 6.1 mmHg systolic blood pressure (p=0.003) and 4.56 mmHg diastolic blood pressure (p=0,000). T-independent test showed that systolic blood pressure in the treatment and control groups obtained p-0.005 and diastolic blood pressure obtained p-value 0.048.Conclusion : Consumption of banana melon pudding and young coconut water could lower blood pressure levels f hypertensive patients

Abstract

Abstrak: Selama masa pandemi covid 19 anak usia sekolah lebih banyak melakukan aktivitasnya di rumah sehingga waktu yang dihabiskan anak di depan layar perangkat digital (screen time) menjadi meningkat. Screen-time yang tinggi, tingkat aktivitas fisik yang rendah, membuat pola makan menjadi kurang sesuai sehingga dalam jangka panjang dapat mempengaruhi status gizi. Edukasi gizi ini bekerjasama dengan SDIT At-Taufiq Al-Islamy dan SDN Cilolohan Tasikmalaya. Adapun jumlah siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan ini sebanyak 83 orang. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa sekolah dasar mengenai gizi seimbang dan aktivitas fisik yang diaplikasikan melalui demo masak makanan sehat dan permainan tradisional. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dan praktik. Media penyuluhan edukasi yang digunakan adalah power point, booklet dan video. Sedangkan media praktik aktivitas fisik yang digunakan adalah permainan egrang batok dan tarik tambang. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perubahan yang baik pada pengetahuan siswa mengenai gizi seimbang dan aktivitas fisik.Abstract: During the covid 19 pandemic, school-age children do more activities at home so that the time spent by children in front of the screen of digital devices (screen time) becomes increased. High screen-time, low levels of physical activity, make the diet less appropriate so that in the long run it can affect nutritional status. This nutrition education is in collaboration with SDIT At-Taufiq Al-Islamy and SDN Cilolohan Tasikmalaya. The number of students who participated in this activity was 83 people. This activity aims to increase elementary school students' knowledge of balanced nutrition and physical activity applied through healthy food cooking demos and traditional games. The methods used are counseling and practice. Educational extension media used are power points, booklets and videos. While the medium of physical activity practice used is a game egrang batok and tarik tambang. The results showed that there were good changes in students' knowledge of balanced nutrition and physical activity.

Abstract

Stunting is a disorder and problem for children's growth and development if it is handled early so that. This study aims to determine the relationship between stunting and the development of toddlers. The study used a cross-sectional research design. This research was conducted in Panjang District, Bandar Lampung City. The subjects of this study were toddlers aged 1-3 years with stunting with a total sample of 84 children. The chi-square test was used to analyze the relationship between stunting, mother's education, mother's occupation, and toddler development. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between stunting and the development of toddlers p = 0.002, while education (p = 0.371) and mother's occupation (p = 0.229) had no relationship with the development of toddlers. The conclusion is that the status of efforts that can be made to deal with stunting toddlers is to improve the abilities and skills of mothers and cadres in providing stimulation to the development of stunting children optimally and strive for the child's developmental body to take place in harmony both in terms of physical, mental and psychosocial and improve sanitation. environment and hygiene as a preventive effort against infectious disease attacks in stunting toddlers.

Abstract

In March 2020 the public was shocked by the Covid-19 pandemic which began to spread to Indonesian territory. Covid-19 is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 or SARS-CoV-2) and is an infectious disease. Naturally, Covid-19 pandemic affects people's attitudes to adopt a healthier lifestyle. The research objective was to analyze the description of the attitudes and lifestyles of the Indonesian people during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used a cross-sectional design with random sampling and data collection was done by distributing online questionnaires via WhatsApp. Data analysis used the univariate test with the number of respondents as many as 6.557 people. The results showed that the attitudes of respondents regarding the Covid-19 pandemic obtained 6.136 respondents agreed that Covid-19 could be controlled, 6.038 respondents agreed that Indonesia would be free from the coronavirus and 6.489 respondents agreed that consumption of balanced nutritional food, maintaining distance and washing hands properly can prevent the transmission of Covid-19. A total of 3,861 respondents did physical activity less than 3 times a week, 6.234 respondents processed their food, 3,309 respondents sometimes consumed fruit and vegetables, 5.111 respondents always washed their hands using running water and soap, 3.576 respondents sometimes sunbathing above 9 o'clock. Overall, the respondents' behavior towards pandemic conditions shows an optimistic attitude that they can avoid Covid-19 by making healthier lifestyle changes.

Abstract

Meniran tea is a functional beverage that contains a variety of active components. Meniran tea contains a variety of active components including flavonoids which act as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to study the formulation of meniran leaf tea (Phyllanthus niruri) as a functional drink. The design used in this study is an experimental design with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Meniran leaf tea formulation is done by mixing dried meniran leaves with dry black tea leaves with formulations 25%, 50%, and 75%. Organoleptic test results (hedonic and hedonic quality) were analyzed by statistical tests using the Kruskal-Wallis test, while antioxidant capacity data would be analyzed by ANOVA statistical tests. Analysis of antioxidant capacity was carried out using the Spectrophotometry method. Organoleptic test results showed that the hedonic quality parameters typical aroma tea is in the range (2,45 – 2,93), the typical aroma of meniran (2,86 – 3,10), bitter taste (3,76 – 4,45), taste foreign (2,83 – 3,38), and steeping color (1,52 – 3,21). The hedonic organoleptic test showed that the beverage aroma parameters were in the range (3,31 – 3,34), taste (1,96 – 2,55) and steeping color (3,07 – 3,65). Antioxidant capacity test shows that F3 functional drinks have the highest antioxidant content of 87,3%. Overall F1 meniran tea (25% meniran leaves, 75% black tea leaves) is the best formula based on organoleptic test results and antioxidant capacity.Teh meniran merupakan minuman fungsional yang memiliki kandungan berbagai komponen aktif. Teh Meniran mengandung berbagai komponen aktif diantaranya golongan flavonoid berperan sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari formulasi teh daun Meniran (Phyllanthus niruri) sebagai minumal fungsional. Desain penelitian ini yaitu eksperimental melalui Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Formulasi teh daun meniran dilakukan dengan mencampurkan daun meniran kering dengan daun teh hitam kering dengan formulasi 25%, 50%, dan 75%. Data hasil uji organoleptik (hedonik dan mutu hedonik) dianalisis dengan uji statistik menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis, sedangkan data kapasitas antioksidan akan dianalisis dengan uji statistik ANOVA. Analisis kapasitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Spektrofotometri. Hasil uji organoleptik mutu hedonik menunjukkan bahwa parameter aroma khas teh berada pada kisaran (2,45 – 2,93),  aroma khas meniran (2,86 – 3,10), rasa pahit (3,76 – 4,45), rasa asing ( 2,83 – 3,38), dan warna seduhan (1,52 – 3,21). Uji organoleptik hedonik menunjukkan bahwa parameter aroma minuman berada pada kisaran (3,31 – 3,34), rasa (1,96 – 2,55) dan warna seduhan (3,07 – 3,65). Uji kapasitas antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa minuman fungsional F3 memiliki kandungan antioksidan paling tinggi sebesar 87,3%. Secara keseluruhan teh meniran F1(25% daun meniran, 75% daun teh hitam) merupakan formula yang terbaik berdasarkan hasil uji organoleptik dan uji kapasitas antioksidan.

Abstract

Meniran is an herbal plant that has many health benefits. Meniran tea contains phytochemicals like teas in general such as saponins, phenolics, flavonoids, and tannins. This study aims to determine the effect of the meniran leaf tea brewing method on the preference value and content of an antioxidant activity. This research was a laboratory experiment with a completely randomized design (CRD). Meniran tea was brewed using the Decoction Brew (DB), Cold Brew (CB), and True Brew (TB) methods with filter and non-filter treatments. The organoleptic test in this study used 30 untrained panelists. Organoleptic test data collection consisting of color, aroma, and taste attributes were assessed using a 9-scale hedonic scale questionnaire. Organoleptic data that had been collected was then tested for normality using Kolmogorov Smirnov, if normally distributed, continued with ANOVA statistical test and then Duncan's further test with 99% CI. Organoleptic test results in the form of attributes of color (p= 0,000), aroma (p= 0,003), and taste (p= 0,000) of panelists preferred tea with the TBF brewing method. Based on the antioxidant activity content of selected meniran tea (TBF) around 2,33 – 2,81 mg/mL. In conclusion, the panelists prefer tea with the TBF brewing method based on the attributes of color, aroma, and taste as well as high antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Food security and the problem of fulfilling nutrition during the Covid-19 pandemic are new problems in the community because people are required to do physical distancing so that the spread of the virus can be reduced. This study aimed to analyze the effect of health interventions with video tutorials on food security and family nutrition knowledge during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was an experimental study with a group pre and post-test design with a sample of 70 people. This research was carried out in 4 villages in Tasikmalaya City, namely Sukahurip Village, Sumelap Village, Sukamaju Kidul Village, and Cipedes Village with several samples. The intervention in this study was the provision of video tutorials on how to obtain food needs through planting in polybags and cultivating budikdamber which were published on youtube and distributed via WhatsApp to the public. Based on the Paired Sample T-test Dependent test between pretest and posttest scores, p-value=0,000 (p-value<0,05), it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between knowledge about family food security before and after being given a video. Giving videos affects increasing subjects knowledge. Researchers suggest further studies on the practice of directly applying it in real life at home.

Abstract

Chronic energy deficiency is the cause of an imbalance between energy intake and expenditure. Efforts that can be made to overcome SEZ are by providing energy-rich foods. There must be innovative foods given to SEZ youth, such as cupcakes that use durian seed flour substitution. This study aims to determine the best formulation and acceptability and utilization of durian seed flour in the manufacture of high energy and protein cupcakes through proximate and fiber analysis. This research was conducted in March 2021. This study used an experimental research method with a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD). The results of this study produced the selected cupcake, namely F2 with the formulation (75 g wheat flour and 75 g durian seed flour) and produced 328.92 kcal of energy (Per 100 g) of protein 12.23%, fat 12.60%, and carbohydrates 41, 65%. Further research is needed on the effect of giving durian seed flour cupcakes to KEK adolescents.
