Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by increased fasting blood glucose. The purpose of this studyto analyze the relationship between nutrient intake, nutritional status and physical activity with blood sugar levels. This research design usescross-sectionalwith a total of 42 respondents. Data on fiber and cholesterol intake usingSQ FFQ. Waist circumference data measured with a measuring tape with an accuracy of 0.1 cm and physical activity data measured using the Physical Activity Scale for the Elderly (PASE). Fasting blood glucose levels were measured using hexokinase. There was a significant relationship between fiber intake (p=0.001), cholesterol intake (p=0.006), and physical activity (0.014) to the increase in fasting blood glucose. However, waist circumference did not have a significant relationship to the increase in fasting blood glucose (p=0.895). Increased blood glucose was related to fiber intake, cholesterol intake, and physical activity, while waist circumference was not significantly related in the prolanis participants of Kedaton Health Center.

Abstract

Angka penyalahgunaan NAPZA masih tinggi baik di dunia maupun Indonesia. Pada tahun 2023, laporan dari UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) menunjukkan sekitar 5,6% populasi dunia, atau 296 juta orang di seluruh dunia dilaporkan menggunakan NAPZA (UNODC, 2023). Penyalahgunaan NAPZA (Narkotika, Psikotropika, dan Zat Adiktif lainnya) merupakan permasalahan serius yang dapat memengaruhi perkembangan generasi muda, khususnya siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan siswa dengan perilaku pencegahan penyalahgunaan NAPZA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan kualitas tidur pada remaja di SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan cross-sectional dengan analisis observasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 350 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik stratified random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner penelitian sebelumnya yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Variabel independen adalah pengetahuan, sedangkan variabel dependen adalah perilaku pencegahan penyalahgunaan NAPZA. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan signifikan antara pengetahuan dan adalah perilaku pencegahan penyalahgunaan NAPZA (p=0,017). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan dan adalah perilaku pencegahan penyalahgunaan NAPZA.

Abstract

Abstract Diabetes Mellitus causes complications in the form of sexual libido dysfunction. Some of the treatment for libido dysfunction was aphrodisiac (piperin) which consist in black pepper. This study aimed to determine the effect of black pepper (piper nigrum l) extract on male white rat (Rattus norvegicus) libido (sexual behavior) with diabetes mellitus. The study was an experimental laboratory with a post-test only control group design using 30 samples of male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) which divided into 5 groups. Each divided into, control group 1 (K1) consist of normal rats; control group 2 (K2), diabetic rats induced by alloxan 150 mg/kg; treatment group 1 (P1), diabetic rats induced by alloxan 150 mg/kg and given black pepper extract 122.5 mg/kg; treatment group 2 (P2), diabetic rats induced by alloxan 150 mg/kg and given black pepper extract 245 mg/kg; treatment group 3 (P3), diabetic rats induced by alloxan 150mg/kg and given sildenafil 1mg/kg. Libido’s measurement was done by observing intromission latency in second, mount latency in second, mount frequency by its quantity. Kruskal-Wallis test was used to analyzed introducing  latency, whereas mounting latency and mounting frequency was analyzed with One Way ANOVA.  The results showed that introducing latency of group P1 and P2 significantly different compared to group K2 (p=0,003, p=0,003), Mounting latency of group P1 significantly different compared to group K2 (p=0,000) and mounting frequency of group P1 and P2 significantly different compared to group K2 (p=0,000,p=0,006). Black pepper extract enhances male white rat (Rattus norvegicus) libido with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with malnutrition in adolescent girls. The study design was a cross-sectional study with a stratified proportional random sampling, which resulted in samples of 156 adolescent girls aged 10 to 24 years in high schools in Tasikmalaya City. Chi-square test is used to analyze factors associated with malnutrition in adolescent girls. Menstrual cycle, knowledge, physical activity, and stress were significantly associated with malnutrition, while a history of infectious disease was not significantly associated. The implication of this research is that during the pandemic, adolescent girls need to maintain knowledge, physical activity, and coping skills to avoid malnutrition.

Abstract

AbstrakZat gizi memegang peranan penting selama kehamilan, di mana kekurangan energi dan protein kronis dapat menyebabkan dampak buruk pada ibu dan janin. Salah satu strategi untuk mengatasi kebutuhan gizi ibu hamil adalah melalui program pemberian makanan tambahan berbasis pangan lokal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader kesehatan dalam menciptakan kudapan bergizi bagi ibu hamil dengan memanfaatkan pangan lokal, seperti ikan lele dan jantung pisang. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa kegiatan edukasi dan demonstrasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada 28 Agustus 2024 pukul 13.00 di Balai Desa Cipadang, Kabupaten Pesawaran, Lampung. Sebanyak 30 kader berpartisipasi dalam sesi edukasi dan pelatihan yang mencakup pembuatan kudapan risol lele jantung pisang (RILPIZ). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa nilai pengetahuan kader sebelum dilakukan penyuluhan dan pelatihan sebesar 79.67 ± 9.64 poin. Setelah melalui kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan, nilai post-test meningkat menjadi 88.67 ± 10.08 poin, dengan kenaikan rata-rata pengetahuan sebesar 9.00 ± 10.94 poin. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kegiatan penyuluhan yang disertai dengan pelatihan dapat memberdayakan kader untuk menciptakan solusi inovatif berbasis pangan lokal dalam upaya meningkatkan gizi ibu hamil dan berpotensi sebagai pendekatan berkelanjutan untuk mengatasi tantangan gizi pada ibu hamil. Kata kunci: ibu hamil; jantung pisang; kudapan; pangan local; pemberian makanan tambahan AbstractNutrition plays a crucial role during pregnancy, where chronic deficiencies in energy and protein can adversely affect both the mother and fetus. One strategy to address the nutritional needs of pregnant women is through supplementary feeding programs based on local food sources. This community service initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of health workers in creating nutritious snacks for pregnant women using local food ingredients, such as catfish and banana flower. This community service is in the form of educational and demonstration activities. This activity was carried out on August 28, 2024 at 13.00 at the Cipadang Village Hall, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung. A total of 30 health workers participated in education and training sessions, which included the preparation of the nutritious snack rissole filled with catfish and banana flower. The results of the activity showed that the knowledge value of the cadres before the counseling and training was 79.67 ± 9.64 points. After going through the counseling and training activities, the post-test value increased to 88.67 ± 10.08 points, with an average increase in knowledge of 9.00 ± 10.94 points. These findings confirm that counseling combined with practical training can empower health workers to develop innovative local food-based solutions for improving maternal nutrition, with the potential to serve as a sustainable approach to addressing maternal nutrition challenges. Keywords: pregnant women; banana flower; snacks; local food; supplementary feeding

Background : Hypertension is a condition when systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure  ≥ 90 mmHg blood. One of herbal therapies to help lowering blood pressure is by utilizing foods which contain high potassium, such as bananas, melons, and young coconut water.Objective : To analyze the effect of banana melon and young coconut water pudding on lowering blood pressure levels of hypertensive patients at the Palembang Public Health Center.Method : A quasi-experimental study with pre and pos test control group design. The subjects were 60 hypertensive patients at Palembah PHC who were eagerly fulfilled inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis were used t-dependent and t-independent tests to analyze the effect of melon banana pudding and young coconut water with blood pressure.Results : The results showed there was an average decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the treatment group of 13.07 mmHg (p= 0.000) and 6.93 mmHg (p= 0,000). Consumption of banana melon pudding and young coconut water showed a significant effect on reducing 6.1 mmHg systolic blood pressure (p=0.003) and 4.56 mmHg diastolic blood pressure (p=0,000). T-independent test showed that systolic blood pressure in the treatment and control groups obtained p-0.005 and diastolic blood pressure obtained p-value 0.048.Conclusion : Consumption of banana melon pudding and young coconut water could lower blood pressure levels f hypertensive patients

Abstract

Background: Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by corona virus. Smokers are the most vulnerable group form Covid-1. Dirty hands can spread disease by providing entry to pathogens, bacteria, or viruses. Handwashing could be effective and efficient prevention to prevent covid-19 infection.Objective: To determine the relationship between gender and smoking habits, handwashing and nutritional behavior among respondents.Methods: A descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Respondents were 966 people who lived in Bengkulu Province. Data collection was carried out by online questionnaire which were distributed through WhatsApp media. Data analysis used the chi-square test.Results: There were significant relationship between gender and smoking habits (p = 0.003), gender and handwashing (p = 0.000), gender and nutritional behavior related with fresh food consumptions (p = 0.026). There were no relationship between gender and nutritional behavior related to preserved/instant foods consumption (p = 0.463), nutritional behavior and fruit-vegetable consumption habits (p = 0.090).Conclusion: There is a relationship between gender and smoking and handwashing habits.

Abstract

Background: Seruit is an indigenous food in Lampung. The dish typically consists of a combination of seafood, vegetables, and spices that are stir-fried together to create a savory and aromatic dish beloved by locals and visitors alike. The key ingredient in seruit is the use of fresh seafood such as shrimp, squid, and fish. Objectives: The study aimed to determine a formula based on acceptability and macronutrient content, especially proteins. Methods: The study used a completely randomized experimental design. Seruit was a typical Lampung chili sauce, consisting of shrimp paste chili sauce supplemented with grilled snakehead fish meat. The seruit formulation used in this study consisted of a mixture of 30, 40, and 50 g of chili sauce and 70, 60, and 50 g of snakehead fish. Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was used to analyze organoleptic. Proximate test was used to determine the content of water, ash, crude fiber, carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Results: The acceptability was conducted by 30 semi-trained panelists with the selected formula, namely F3 with a mixture of 50 g of snakehead fish with color indicators (3.50±1.09), aroma (3.72±0.88), taste (3.87±0.94), and texture (3.62±1.02). 100g of harpoon contains 19.67% water content, 1.18% ash content, 2.63% crude fiber, 12.36% protein, 3.17% fat, and 60.98% carbohydrates. Seruit with F3 formula was chosen by the panelists and is a high source of protein. Conclusions: Seruit formula F3 with the addition of 50 g grilled snakehead fish is the selected formula and has potential as a local food source of protein that can be served in the daily diet according to a balanced nutritional diet.

Abstract

Background: Waffle is sweet food like cake but cooked differently, are a beloved snack for teenagers. Chaya is a leafy vegetable that is often consumed because it has a nutritional content that is beneficial for health and can be made into snacks such as waffles. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the nutritional and cyanide content of Chaya Leaf waffles using a selected formula as a potential solution for iron deficiency anemia in adolescents girls. Methods: Experimental research with a randomized complete design was conducted, varying the amount of Chaya Leaf are 0g, 25g, 50g, and 75g in waffle formulations. Sensory analysis is based on hedonic test results which are evaluated using SPSS version 25 analyzed using one-way ANOVA followed by DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) analysis, while proximate analysis was conducted following SNI 4305:2018 guidelines. Iron content was measured using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SNI 01-2896-1998) and cyanide content using the acid titration method and the wet titration method based on SNI 4305:2018. Results: A hedonic test involving 30 semi-trained panelists favored formula F4, containing 75 g of Chaya Leaf, for its color (p-value<0.001), taste (p-value=0.001), and texture (p-value=0.019). In 100 g of waffle, water content was 54.15%, ash content was 2.06%, protein was 20.90%, fat was 12.16%, and carbohydrates were 63.67%. The iron content was 0.43 mg, and cyanide levels were found to be 0.919 mg/g. Conclusions: Formula F4 was preferred by panelists for its high iron content and safe cyanide levels, suggesting the potential of Chaya Leaf waffles as a nutritious snack for teenagers.
