Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly accelerated the adoption of online learning, prompting extensive research on its implementation across various educational levels in Indonesia. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, analyzing 13 articles from the GARUDA database, published between 2019 and 2023. The findings reveal diverse platforms utilized for online learning, including Google Classroom (3 mentions), Quizizz (2 mentions), Edmodo (3 mentions), WhatsApp (2 mentions), and custom-developed platforms. At the primary and secondary education levels, platforms like Quizizz and Edmodo were associated with improvements in student motivation (42.5% increase in motivation) and learning outcomes (up to 84% in comprehension improvement for specific materials). However, challenges such as limited internet access and reduced interaction hindered learning experiences. In higher education, Google Classroom was the most frequently cited platform, enhancing accessibility and learning independence. Despite these benefits, issues such as unstable internet connectivity, skill-based material comprehension, and limited engagement persisted. This study concludes that online learning has notably improved accessibility, motivation, and learning outcomes, with significant potential to enhance educational quality. However, addressing barriers such as technical limitations and fostering better interaction are essential for further optimization. These insights provide valuable guidance for refining online learning practices and policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Social studies subjects are one of the subjects that must be passed by students from elementary to high school levels. History subjects at the high school level are about building students' awareness of the importance of time and place which is a process from the past, present and future, training students' critical power to understand facts, concepts and generalizations correctly based on a scientific and methodological approach. science. However, what happens in the learning process in schools does not pay attention to these goals so that students do not understand social studies. This study aims to provide a theoretical basis that in the learning process can use various sources in social studies subjects, namely museums. Museums are places where valuable items from the past are exhibited that can support the learning process. The national museum is one of the museum facilities that can be used. From various learning theories and the cone of Dale's experience, it shows that there are good results if learning is based on learning by doing.

Abstract

Rapid advances in educational technology have renewed calls for evidence-based models that translate digital tools into genuine gains in classroom engagement and peer interaction. This study investigates the impact of a purpose-built technology-integration framework in junior high school science lessons, combining a learning management system, live polling, and collaborative white-boarding. Employing a quasi-experimental, mixed-methods design, 102 students from two comparable schools were assigned to either an intervention class (n = 52) or a business-as-usual control (n = 50) for one semester. Pre- and post-test data were gathered with a validated Engagement in Learning Scale and an observation rubric tracking verbal and non-verbal interaction events. At the same time, click-stream analytics and semi-structured interviews triangulated the quantitative findings. ANCOVA results indicated a significant treatment effect on overall engagement (F(1, 98) = 15.27, p < .001, Hedges g = 0.63) and student-initiated interaction frequency (ΔM = 14.6 events per class, p = .002). Thematic analysis of 1,274 coded reflections revealed that instant feedback, visual progress cues, and low-stakes collaborative tasks were perceived as the chief motivators of participation. Collectively, the data suggest that strategically layered technologies can shift classroom dynamics from teacher-centered recitation toward student-driven discourse without extending instructional time. Limitations include single-subject focus and reliance on self-report for some measures. Future work should examine long-term retention effects and scalability across diverse curricular areas.
