Abstract

The brain plays an important role in the language process in humans, both in processing oral and written information. In oral information, sound is processed in the temporal lobe and forwarded to Wernicke's area to be interpreted. If a verbal response is needed, this interpretation is sent to Broca's area via the arcuate fasciculus. This is different from written information which is directly processed in the visual cortex (occipital lobe) before being forwarded to Wernicke's area via the angular gyrus. In addition, the left hemisphere of the brain is more dominant in language function. Disorders in the left hemisphere can cause decreased language ability. Conversely, disorders in the right hemisphere have a greater effect on narrative and inference abilities. This article also discusses speech disorders that occur due to brain damage, such as aphasia caused by stroke.

Abstract

This study applies case-based learning and project-based learning models assisted by artificial intelligence technology with the aim of realizing differentiated learning, improving learning outcomes, and student participation. This study uses a Quasi Experimental design, with five main steps, namely: Preliminary Study, Preparation of Research Design, Technology Implementation, Data Collection, Data Analysis, and Interpretation of Results. The subjects of the study were 159 students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program in semester 1 who took the Indonesian Language course. Data were obtained through observation, formative evaluation, summative evaluation, student satisfaction surveys, and questionnaires. Based on the correlation analysis of the results of the Summative test in the CBL and PjBL classes, it is known that there is no significant difference in learning outcomes for the two classes. However, the scores obtained in both classes were on average High, namely 79, or A- according to the University of Jambi's value scale. This shows that both models, namely CBL and PjBL combined with the use of AI technology, the Chat GPT application is effective in influencing the success of student learning in the Indonesian Language Course, the topic of Writing Scientific Papers. While in terms of student participation there is a significant difference between classes using CBL and PjBL. Based on the analysis, it is known that the average student participation in the CBL class is 71.56%. While the average student participation in the PjBL class is 87.49%. The results of this study strengthen the results of previous studies which show that the use of AI technology combined with the modern learning models CBL and PjBL can increase student participation in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of smartphones as a medium to develop students' learning interest in IPAS (Science and Social Studies Integration) learning in elementary schools. The research was conducted using a descriptive method with the subjects being fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 28/IV Jambi City during the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Research data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique employed was interactive analysis, consisting of data collection, verification, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the use of smartphones in learning was implemented in stages: (1) identifying key activities, (2) determining the sequence, (3) allocating time and resources, and (4) implementation. The use of smartphones in the implementation stage brought benefits for both teachers and students teachers became more creative and innovative, student attention and interest increased, understanding was enhanced, learning objectives were achieved, and a more enjoyable learning environment was created. Furthermore, the use of smartphones had both positive and negative impacts. Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to identify and understand external factors that hinder children's language development, as well as develop effective strategies to overcome them. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach, which was chosen because it allows researchers to explain these external factors in depth and detail. The research results reveal that parenting patterns, the order or number of children, the surrounding environment, and social settings are the main external factors that hinder children's language development. In conclusion, implementing appropriate strategies, such as optimizing parenting patterns, paying attention to the order or number of children, creating a supportive learning environment, and adapting to social settings can optimize children's language development, facilitate better communication, and understanding of their social environment.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental right for every individual without exception, including children with special needs (CWSN). Therefore, the education system must ensure equal access and services for all students. The concept of inclusive education emerges as a response to this need, emphasizing the importance of adapting learning processes to align with each child's characteristics and needs. Each CWSN has a unique learning style, thus requiring tailored teaching strategies to ensure they receive equal educational rights. This study aims to identify and describe the teaching practices for CWSN at the inclusive school SDN 131 Kota Jambi. The research employs a qualitative phenomenological approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the lecture method remains the primary approach used by teachers. In lower grades (Grade II), teachers actively collaborate with Special Education Assistants (GPK) to provide additional explanations directly to CWSN until the material is understood. In contrast, in higher grades, material repetition is conducted only once or twice, as some CWSN are able to follow the lessons independently. One student even demonstrated significant progress to the point of no longer needing assistance from a GPK. These findings suggest that adapting teaching strategies and providing support through GPK are crucial for the learning development of CWSN, and over time, they can achieve independence in the learning process.

Abstract

This article explores the integration of environmental education and local wisdom into elementary school learning to foster global awareness and cultural appreciation from an early age, particularly within the context of digital advancement in the Society 5.0 era. The study employs a qualitative analytical method with a conceptual approach, based on scientific articles published over the past ten years (2015-2025). Data analysis was conducted through data selection, thematic categorization, and descriptive-qualitative interpretation to examine the relationship between theory and real educational practices in the context of elementary education in Society 5.0. The findings indicate that environmental education and local wisdom play a significant role in shaping students' character at the primary level, especially amid rapid technological development. These values can be effectively integrated through thematic-contextual learning approaches aligned with students’ developmental stages and curriculum content. Teachers hold a strategic role in designing and implementing meaningful learning, serving as facilitators, character builders, and instructional innovators. The article concludes that integrating environmental and cultural values into elementary school learning is a relevant strategy to cultivate global consciousness and cultural identity from an early age. Keywords - Environmental Education, Local Wisdom, Elementary School, Society 5.0, Global and Cultural Awareness.

Abstract

Education with a global perspective at the elementary school level is a strategic approach in shaping the character of students who care, think critically, and have broad insights from an early age. This article examines a number of global issues such as the environment, human rights, social inequality, cultural migration, and the development of information technology, and explores how these issues can be integrated into contextual, fun, and relevant learning for elementary school students. The role of teachers as learning facilitators is crucial in realizing global education through thematic, project-based approaches and strengthening multicultural literacy. This approach is in line with the values of the Pancasila Student Profile and contributes to forming a generation that is ready to face global challenges, without losing the roots of national identity and culture.
