Abstract

Penyimpanan barang farmasi dalam gudang industri farmasi merupakan aspek penting untuk memastikan kualitas barang tetap terjaga hingga sampai ke tangan konsumen. Pengkondisian udara adalah salah satu faktor kunci dalam penyimpanan ini. Penelitian ini menguji prinsip exhaust fan sebagai alternatif pengkondisian udara untuk penyimpanan obat, dengan menggunakan panel surya sebagai sumber energi listrik alternatif. Alat ini berfungsi sebagai alat pengkondisian udara yang berfungsi untuk menciptakan sirkulasi udara yang sejuk dan segar dari luar ruangan sehingga dapat mereduksi suhu dalam ruangan. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan pengambilan data langsung pada perangkat yang telah dirancang. Data diperoleh dari empat variasi pengkondisian udara dengan menggunakan cooling fan sebagai penggerak udara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan exhaust fan dengan bantuan panel surya mampu menghasilkan kondisi lingkungan yang sesuai untuk penyimpanan obat. Temperatur udara dalam ruangan exhaust fan terpantau dalam kisaran yang diinginkan dengan variasi suhu yang terukur lebih rendah daripada suhu lingkungan. Kelembapan udara juga terjaga dalam batas yang diinginkan. Efektivitas penggunaan panel surya dalam mengurangi konsumsi energi listrik pada exhaust fan juga terlihat, mengurangi dampak lingkungan dan biaya operasional. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan exhaust fan dengan bantuan panel surya merupakan solusi yang efektif untuk pengkondisian udara dalam penyimpanan barang farmasi, dengan hasil yang menjanjikan untuk menjaga kualitas barang serta mengurangi dampak lingkungan.

Abstract

Penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang menarik dapat memotivasi belajar siswa dan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan dapat membuat suasana kelas menjadi lebih kondusif, aktif, dan menyenangkan. Salah satu metode pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk belajar agar hasilnya belajarnya efektif adalah lesson study berbasis case method. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran PDTM kelas X SMK Negeri 2 Solok melalui lesson study berbasis case method. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas X Jurusan Teknik Pemesinan di SMK Negeri 2 Solok tahun ajaran 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 24 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kenaikan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I ketuntasan klasikal siswa mencapai 66,6%, pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan menjadi 75,0%. Ketuntasan klasikal siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 8,4%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran lesson study berbasis case method dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study is to provide valid, practical, and effective Android application-based interactive learning media for the Basics of Mechanical Engineering subject in class X Mechanical Engineering at SMK Dhuafa Padang. This medium is intended to boost students' comprehension, motivation, and independence, allowing them to achieve better learning outcomes. The research approach employed is Research and Development (R&D), using a 4D development model (define, design, develop and disseminate). The primary data utilized in this study came from validators, teachers, and students. Data was analyzed descriptively to characterize the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the learning media developed. The validity test findings show that this learning medium, which had a media aspect score of 0,892 and a material aspect score of 0,950, was deemed valid by expert review. This media was also declared practical with a practicality score of 96,94% from teacher responses and 92,25% from student responses. In the effectiveness test, the Gain Score was 0,68, placing it in the medium category. Meanwhile, the t-test shows a Sig value (2-tailed) of 0.002 (2-tailed < 0,05) and a tcount value of 3,372 (tcount ˃ ttable), indicating a significant difference in learning outcomes between students who use this learning media (experimental class) and those who do not use the media (control class). Thus, this Android application-based interactive learning media is declared valid, practical and effective for use in the DDTM learning process.

Abstract

This study was triggered by the existing teaching modules for the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) subjects taught at vocational high schools, which do not align with the Freedom to Learn-Independent Campus (FLIC) learning objectives, and do not provide a systematic organization. In order to enhance the learning experience, this research developed a new learning module that integrated Problem-based Learning (PBL), promoting critical thinking, and the practical application of theoretical concepts, following the FLIC curriculum. Utilizing a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the Instructional Design Institute (IDI) model, this study involved two welding instructors and four lecturers as validators to assess the content and usability of the module. The IDI model comprised three steps: instructional (define), development (develop), and institute (evaluate). The research findings regarding the validity assessment by subject matter experts yielded a final validity score of 0.924, while media and language experts provided a score of 0.936, meeting the valid criteria. The practical usability test of the learning module resulted in a score of 94%, indicating that it is highly practical for students to use as learning media. Based on the validity and practicality assessments of the developed module, it can be concluded that the SMAW learning module is highly practical to use as teaching media, aligning with FLIC curriculum.

Abstract

The energy demand in Indonesia continues to increase, particularly in the transportation sector, which remains highly dependent on fossil fuels such as gasoline. This dependency causes several issues, including the depletion of fossil fuel reserves and the rise of greenhouse gas emissions that negatively impact the environment. One potential solution to address these challenges is the development of bioethanol as a renewable and environmentally friendly alternative fuel. Bioethanol can be produced from starchy materials, one of which is white cassava (Manihot esculenta), known for its high productivity and wide availability in Indonesia. The production process of bioethanol consists of several stages, including liquefaction, fermentation, and distillation, where fermentation temperature plays a crucial role in determining the ethanol yield. Previous studies have shown that variations in fermentation temperature significantly influence the efficiency of bioethanol production. This study aims to characterize bioethanol produced from cassava fermentation at various temperature variations and to evaluate its potential as a fuel for gasoline engines. The results are expected to contribute to the improvement of bioethanol production efficiency and to promote cassava utilization as a renewable energy source in supporting national energy sustainability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kinerja alat uji konduktivitas termal pada material padat melalui pendekatan simulasi numerik menggunakan perangkat lunak ANSYS Steady-State Thermal. Kajian ini didasarkan pada metode Comparative Cut Bar yang mengacu pada standar ASTM E1225, di mana dua batang logam identik digunakan sebagai meter bar untuk memastikan aliran panas berlangsung secara linier dan satu dimensi. Sumber panas menggunakan Catridge Heater bertenaga 300 W dengan sistem pengendali suhu REX C-100, sedangkan pendinginan dilakukan menggunakan Heat Sink Water Block untuk menjaga kestabilan temperatur. Simulasi dilakukan pada dua jenis material spesimen, yaitu kuningan dan kayu, dengan variasi suhu sumber panas sebesar 150°C, 250°C, dan 350°C. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa distribusi temperatur pada kuningan bersifat lebih merata dibandingkan kayu karena nilai konduktivitas termalnya yang lebih tinggi. Nilai konduktivitas termal rata-rata yang diperoleh dari hasil simulasi adalah 109 W/m·K untuk kuningan dan 0,12 W/m·K untuk kayu. Temuan ini mengonfirmasi bahwa material dengan konduktivitas termal tinggi mampu mentransfer panas lebih efisien, sedangkan efektivitas sistem Heat Sink berperan penting dalam menjaga kestabilan suhu dan mengurangi kehilangan panas selama proses pengujian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis ekspansi termal dan distribusi tegangan pada alat uji konduktivitas termal tipe Comparative Cut-Bar Method menggunakan pendekatan Finite Element Method (FEM) melalui perangkat lunak ANSYS R2 2025. Analisis dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh temperatur kerja dan beban mekanik terhadap kestabilan komponen utama alat sebelum tahap pembuatan prototipe. Geometri alat dirancang dengan komponen utama berupa heat source, meter bar, spesimen, heat sink, isolator, dan shell, dengan kondisi pembebanan termal pada suhu 200°C dan tekanan mekanis penjepit sebesar 0,1 MPa. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa distribusi temperatur menyebar secara aksial dari heat source menuju heat sink dengan suhu tertinggi sebesar 202,1°C. Nilai deformasi maksimum sebesar 0,0040569 mm terjadi pada spesimen kuningan, sedangkan deformasi terkecil terdapat pada heat sink sebesar 0,00000019885 mm. Nilai tegangan ekuivalen tertinggi sebesar 241,18 MPa terjadi pada heat source dengan yield strength 305 MPa, menghasilkan safety factor 1,26. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa seluruh komponen masih berada dalam batas elastis material dan aman terhadap deformasi plastis. Secara keseluruhan, alat uji konduktivitas termal hasil perancangan menunjukkan performa struktural yang baik dan stabil terhadap pengaruh temperatur kerja maupun beban mekanik. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan dasar dalam proses optimasi desain serta pembuatan prototipe fisik alat uji konduktivitas termal berbasis metode Comparative Cut-Bar.

Abstract

Vocational education plays a critical role in preparing students to meet industry demands and enter the workforce effectively. This study aims to evaluate the One Heart Education Program in the Motorcycle Engineering and Business expertise competency at SMKN 1 Luak District, focusing on context, input, process, and product aspects, using the CIPP evaluation model. The study examines whether the program has been managed optimally. Employing a mixed-method approach, the research uses purposive sampling, involving 36 respondents, 26 for quantitative data and 10 as qualitative informants. Data collection methods include questionnaires and interviews. The evaluation results show that the program achieved an overall score of 72.24, categorized as sufficient, indicating suboptimal management. In detail, the context aspect related to program objectives is rated as poor, though the environmental aspect is good. The input, process, and product aspects are also found to be lacking. Key recommendations include optimizing the context aspect by refining program goals, adopting a centralized approach in the input aspect to explore students’ potential, enhancing the learning process in the process aspect to better align with industrial standards, and improving outcomes in the product aspect. These improvements aim to enhance the overall effectiveness and impact of the One Heart Education Program.

Abstract

Effective practical learning in vocational education requires instructional tools that support collaboration and contextual problem-solving. Jobsheets integrated with Collaborative Project-Based Learning (CPjBL) are expected to address this need in Lathe Machining subjects. This study employed a modified 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) to create a CPjBL-based jobsheet. The research involved 11th-grade Machining Engineering students at SMK Negeri 5 Padang, selected via purposive sampling. Data collection instruments included expert validation sheets, student questionnaires, observation checklists, and pretest-posttest assessments. The jobsheet featured collaborative tasks such as producing lathed components, with defined roles and peer coordination. Validation scores indicated strong content and design quality: material experts (92%), media experts (87%), and teachers (95%). Practicality was rated highly by both teachers (92.33%) and students (84.67%). The effectiveness test showed a significant learning gain with an N-Gain score of 0.65 (high category). Observations revealed active student collaboration through defined group roles, communication, and joint accountability. The CPjBL-based jobsheet effectively enhanced student engagement and machining competencies. Its integration into vocational learning aligns educational practices with industrial expectations and supports the development of collaborative, work-ready graduates.

Abstract

This study examines the factors that influence the success of Industrial Work Practice (PKL) implementation in the Mechanical Engineering Program at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat. Using a quantitative research design with Partial Least Squares (PLS), data were collected from 58 students who participated in the 2023 internship program. The research investigates the contribution of five variables: productive subjects, general subjects, curriculum alignment, school mentoring, and industrial mentoring. The findings show that productive subjects have the strongest influence on PKL success, followed by school mentoring and industrial mentoring. In contrast, general subjects and curriculum alignment do not demonstrate a significant effect. These results highlight the crucial role of technical competence and consistent guidance in ensuring effective internship experiences. The study emphasizes the need for stronger collaboration between schools and industry to enhance the relevance of vocational learning. It also suggests aligning instructional practices with workplace expectations to better prepare students for real industrial environments. Overall, this research provides empirical evidence that reinforces the importance of practical skills and structured mentoring in improving internship outcomes within vocational education.
