Abstract

The importance of conducting this research is to introduce to students that through English listening lessons, they can get used to listening in English. The researcher conducted this study to gather information about students' perceptions of learning listening at SMAN 1 Tembilahan as an illustration of whether the implementation of learning listening can support students' English language proficiency. The design of this research was Descriptive Quantitative. The sample of this study consists of 60 students from the 11th grade, which is divided into 9 classes, from SMAN 1 Tembilahan. To determine the sample, the researcher used the systematic random sampling technique. The total population is 306 students. In collecting data, the researcher used questionnaire as a research tool. This questionnaire is used to determine students' perceptions of the implementation of listening lessons at SMAN 1 Tembilahan. The questionnaire used in the study is presented in 5 (five) alternatives commonly known as the Likert Scale. The research results indicate that students' perceptions of listening learning are less (55.82%), because 55.82% is still in < 55%. So, it can be concluded that students' perception of listening learning at SMAN 1 Tembilahan is less.

Abstract

Discussion aims to examine the effect of teacher self-confidence on the teaching and learning process in schools. Teacher self-confidence is a key factor in educational success, because confident teachers tend to be more effective in conveying subject matter and motivating students to learn better. Teachers who have a high level of self-confidence tend to be more courageous in taking initiatives, being creative in presenting material, and more prepared to face challenges in managing the classroom. In addition, teacher self-confidence also has a positive impact on student motivation, where students tend to be more motivated to learn and participate actively in the learning process. Even so, there are several factors that can affect the level of teacher confidence, such as level of education and teaching experience. Teachers with higher formal education and more extensive teaching experience tend to have more confidence in dealing with complex classroom situations. In the context of improving the education system provide valuable information for schools and educational institutions to improve teacher competence and help increase their self-confidence. Professional training and development can be an effective strategy to increase teacher self-confidence, so that it can have a positive impact on the quality of the teaching and learning process in schools. In addition, an interactive approach between teachers and students and a supportive educational environment can also play an important role in increasing teacher confidence and the overall quality of learning .

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan wawasan mahasiswa melalui kuliah umum bertema “Tends in ELT: Artificial Intelligence and Psychological Issues”. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 60 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris FKIP Universitas Islam Indragiri. Tema ini diangkat sebagai respon terhadap meningkatnya penggunaan teknologi, khususnya Artificial Intelligence (AI), dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris serta urgensi pemahaman aspek psikologis yang memengaruhi proses belajar-mengajar. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa peserta memperoleh wawasan baru tentang penerapan AI dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris, penggunaan AI harus dilakukan secara bijak dan etis. Sementara itu, peserta menyatakan bahwa AI tidak dapat menggantikan sepenuhnya peran pendidik, yang menunjukkan adanya pengakuan terhadap pentingnya kehadiran manusia dalam pendidikan. Selain itu, peserta juga menyadari pentingnya aspek psikologis, seperti kepercayaan diri dan kesehatan mental, dalam keberhasilan penggunaan Bahasa Inggris sebagai alat komunikasi. Kegiatan ini juga memfasilitasi sesi tanya jawab yang berlangsung interaktif dan menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dari peserta. Beberapa pertanyaan kritis yang diajukan antara lain: bagaimana mengatasi kecanduan AI dalam pembuatan tugas, strategi agar tidak tertinggal oleh kemajuan teknologi, cara menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri dalam berbahasa Inggris, serta bagaimana menghadapi trauma dan isu kesehatan mental yang umum di kalangan generasi Z. Secara keseluruhan, kuliah umum ini memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual dan aplikatif mahasiswa terhadap teknologi AI dalam konteks ELT serta pentingnya aspek psikologis dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal dalam membangun generasi pendidik yang cakap teknologi, memiliki etika digital, dan berjiwa sehat secara mental dalam mengarungi dunia pendidikan abad ke-21

Abstract

Lake Toba area as one of the national super priority tourism destinations (DPSP) faces challenges in realizing sustainable tourism management. This study is important because it focuses on the need for evaluation of tourism policies that not only emphasize aspects of physical and economic development, but also integrate sound governance principles such as transparency, accountability, participation, effectiveness and responsiveness in every stage of its formulation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of sustainable tourism policies in the Lake Toba area with a good governance approach as an analytical framework. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with thematic analysis and SWOT analysis. The results of the study indicate that although there has been progress in infrastructure development and tourism promotion, the application of sound governance principles is still partial and has not been integrated systemically. The main weaknesses lie in the weak coordination between institutions, limited participation of local communities in decision-making, and the suboptimal public accountability mechanism. These findings emphasize the importance of reformulating sustainable tourism policies in the Lake Toba area through a more inclusive, collaborative, and data-based sound governance approach.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of giving rabbit urine POC on Odot grass production, such as plant height, leaf width, fresh production, number of tillers, and leaf length. Forage is the main feed component most needed by ruminant livestock, and in general, forage can be divided into three groups: grass (Gramineae), legumes (Leguminoseae), and non-grass. Feed is the most important factor in livestock raising; the success or failure of a livestock business is primarily determined by the feed provided. One of the forages for livestock is Odot grass, which can be reproduced using a vegetative method, namely by using the branches that grow best. This research used the experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and four groups as replications. The treatments given were as follows: P1: No rabbit urine fertilizer, P2: Pure rabbit urine (10%), P3: POC rabbit urine (10%), P4: POC rabbit urine (15%), P5: POC urine rabbit (20%). The variables observed were fresh production (kg), plant height (cm), number of tillers (stems), leaf width (cm), and leaf length (cm). The results and discussion of the results of this research show that the highest results were in treatment P5 (20% POC rabbit urine), where fresh production of Odot grass was 2.5 kg per hill, plant height 120.5 cm, the number of saplings 27.75 stems, leaf width 4 .75 cm and leaf length 69.5 cm. In conclusion, giving rabbit urine POC showed no significant effect on fresh production and plant height but really affected the number of tillers, leaf width, and leaf length of Odot grass.

Abstract

Peningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam mengurangi risiko penyakit yang ditularkan nyamuk, seperti demam berdarah, malaria, dan chikungunya perlu dilakukan melalui sosialisasi. Pendekatan berbasis komunitas menggunakan metode ovitrap digunakan untuk mengedukasi warga mengenai hal ini. Selama satu bulan pengamatan, metode ini berhasil menunjukkan penurunan signifikan jumlah jentik nyamuk dari minggu ke minggu. Ovitrap, sebagai alat sederhana, memutus siklus hidup nyamuk dengan menjebak telur di wadah khusus berisi air. Selain pengenalan metode, pelatihan diberikan untuk memaksimalkan hasil penerapannya. Monitoring berkala dan kolaborasi dengan kader kesehatan serta pemerintah setempat memungkinkan evaluasi berkelanjutan terhadap keberhasilan program ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan rata-rata jumlah jentik nyamuk menurun secara konsisten, yang membuktikan efektivitas metode ini dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih sehat dan bebas nyamuk. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat direplikasi di wilayah lain sebagai upaya berkelanjutan dalam pencegahan penyakit berbasis lingkungan.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh disiplin dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai di UPT Asrama Haji Embarkasi Medan. Kinerja pegawai sangat penting untuk menjaga suatu organisasi beroperasi dengan baik, terutama di organisasi pelayanan publik. Motivasi dan Disiplin kerja dianggap sebagai dua komponen utama yang mempengaruhi produktivitas dan pencapaian tujuan kerja karyawan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 82 karyawan UPT Asrama Haji Embarkasi Medan. Pengaruh motivasi kerja dan disiplin terhadap kinerja karyawan dinilai melalui analisis data regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa disiplin kerja memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, sedangkan motivasi kerja tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan di UPT Asrama Haji Embarkasi Medan. Kesimpulannya menunjukkan bahwa disiplin kerja adalah faktor utama dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. Oleh karena itu, untuk mencapai efektivitas kerja yang lebih baik, organisasi harus lebih berkonsentrasi pada meningkatkan kedisiplinan karyawan.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the financial performance of PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk for the 2016-2023 period in terms of liquidity ratios and solvency ratios. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The research data used is secondary data in the form of company financial reports that have been published by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). The results of the analysis show that the measurement of PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk's liquidity ratio for the 2016-2023 period shows an unhealthy condition, because the Current Ratio (CR), Quick Ratio (QR) and Cash Ratio (CR) values ​​are below industry standards. The results of measuring the Solvency Ratio at PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk for the 2016-2023 period show an unhealthy condition because the Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) values ​​are still below industry standards. PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk's financial performance is at the "unhealthy" assessment level in liquidity research. Because the company is unable to meet its short-term obligations. And likewise, its solvency ratio is at an "unhealthy" level. Because the company is unable to meet its long-term obligations. To further increase its level of liquidity and solvency, companies should reduce the amount of long-term debt and increase their assets.

Abstract

Era Gen-Z ditandai dengan kemajuan teknologi yang pesat, perubahan gaya hidup, serta pola pikir yang lebih terbuka dan kritis. Generasi ini mendominasi populasi mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi umum saat ini, sehingga pendidikan karakter menjadi tantangan sekaligus kebutuhan yang mendesak. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pentingnya pendidikan karakter di perguruan tinggi umum dalam membentuk pribadi mahasiswa yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual, tetapi juga berintegritas, bertanggung jawab, dan memiliki kepedulian sosial. Melalui pendekatan studi ini mengeksplorasi strategi-strategi yang diterapkan oleh perguruan tinggi dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter kepada mahasiswa Gen-Z, serta hambatan-hambatan yang dihadapi dalam proses tersebut. Hasil tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi pendidikan karakter dalam kurikulum, kegiatan organisasi kemahasiswaan, dan pemanfaatan media digital memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap pembentukan karakter mahasiswa. Namun demikian, keberhasilan pendidikan karakter sangat bergantung pada konsistensi implementasi, peran aktif dosen, serta dukungan lingkungan kampus secara keseluruhan termasuk unsur-unsur pendidikan didalamnya yang merupakan salah satu efek utama dari peradaban era society 5.0. Serta sektor pendidikan harus mampu beradaptasi dengan digitalisasi sistem pendidikan yang berkembang akibat kemajuan teknologi yang begitu cepat dan signifikan. Agar tantangan masyarakat era society 5.0 dapat sesuai, maka harus direncanakan dan dikemas secara matang. Tulisan ini merekomendasikan perlunya model pendidikan karakter yang adaptif, kontekstual, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik Gen-Z agar dapat memberikan dampak yang optimal serta penerimaan masyarakat atas kehadiran kembali mahasiswa ditengah-tengah lingkungan sosial.

Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence of training on employee performance, whether there is an influence of work motivation on employee performance, whether there is an influence of training and work motivation on employee performance at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional II Medan City, this study aims to determine and analyze the influence of training on employee performance, to determine and analyze the influence of work motivation on employee performance, to determine and analyze the influence of training and work motivation on employee performance at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional II Medan City. The methods used in this study are validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, linear regression, and hypothesis test. Data were measured or processed using SPSS, with samples using questionnaires distributed to 40 employees at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional II Medan City. The results of this study indicate that the training variable has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The work motivation variable has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The training and work motivation variables have a positive and significant effect on employee performance.
