Abstract

Lecturers as educators at universities should speak according to the norms or maxims of language politeness as a form of providing an example for students in speaking politely. Therefore, this research aims to examine language politeness which is indicated in everyday conversations in the academic sphere, especially conversations between lecturers in universities. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method by collecting data through observation and conversation notes. The data analysis technique consists of three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and analysis, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research found that there are 5 maxims of language politeness that are carried out in the lecturer's room by lecturers in the Public Administration Study Program in daily conversations. The maxims found consisted of two maxims of generosity, one maxim of appreciation, one maxim of simplicity, one maxim of consensus, and one maxim of sympathy, while the maxim of wisdom was not found during research data collection.

Abstract

Pendidikan anak usia dini adalah suatu hal yang paling mendasar, pada masa ini sering disebut juga masa periode emas (Golden Age). Salah satu penunjang agar proses pembelajaran anak usia dini berlangsung secara efektif adalah dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan terdapat beberapa peserta didik yang malas atau tidak bersemangat saat melakukan kegiatan yang berkaitan dalam mengembangkan motorik kasar pada anak. Adapun rumusan masalah yaitu bagaimana mengembangkan keterampilan motorik kasar anak dan peran guru dalam mengembangkan keterampilan motorik kasar anak usia 5-6 tahun melalui bermain egrang batok kelapa. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan keterampilan motorik kasar anak usia 5-6 tahun melalui permainan tradisional egrang batok kelapa. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian lapangan (field research) yang bersifat kualitatif dan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah anak-anak sangat antusias dalam bermain permainan batok kelapa, karna prmainan ini juga merupakan sebuah permainan tradisional yang sangat menarik dan salah satu manfaatnya yaitu dapat mengembangkan motorik kasar anak. Dengan adanya permainan ini sangat membantu guru dalam mengembangkan keterampilan motorik kasar anak usia 5-6 tahun melalui bermain egrang batok kelapa.

Abstract

This article is aim to analysis some part of theories and previous study about the analysis of the effect teaching strategies using film or video to improve student motivation in studying English in speaking and listening. In the last decade, learning English is important part of for we to communicate and collaborate in many aspect including politic, economic, social, and education with others people around the world. However, Indonesian Student that has young learner they often lack of Interest to learning this language. The main reason to the lack of students motivation are the teaching method that tend to be boring and teachers centered. Therefore, one of the alternative solutions to answer this problem are implementing of watching film or video in classroom. One of the simplest way to using film and videos are watching music and watching music video with groups of students. The teacher will show some films and videos and see how they would enthusiasm using this method. This also will enrich the student speaking and listening along film or videos was played on. Hence, this paper will describe theory of the affect using film or videos, with using quantitative descriptive as a methods for this research and see the advantage of using film or videos and how to imply that film or videos using in English classroom

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in Islamic religious education learning using problem-based learning. This research is a classroom action research that uses four steps, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subject of this study is junior high school students. The data of this study was obtained by test and observation techniques. Tests are used to measure learning outcomes and observations are used to analyze the learning activities of teachers and students. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive statistics by comparing the results obtained with research success indicators. The results of the study show that problem-based learning can improve student learning outcomes in Islamic religious education learning. This can be seen from the increase in the percentage of student learning completeness in each cycle with details of 40.19% in the pre-cycle, 75.37% in the first cycle and 88.72% in the second cycle. Thus, the use of problem-based learning can be used as an alternative to improve student learning outcomes in Islamic religious education learning.

Abstract

Hasil kajian tentang fenomena sosial munculnya pilihan pengobatan tradisional chiropractic dan resistensi dekgradasi kepercayaan pada pengobatan medis, tinjauan antropologi sosial masyarakat kota Medan, sangat diharapkan akan dapat memberikan alternatif jawaban atas dinamika yang sedang terjadi pada masyarakat kota Medan saat ini. Sejatinya fenomena dinamika masyarakat tentu tidak akan pernah berhenti bahkan proses demikian akan menghasilkan berbagai karya budaya. Kearifan lokal pengobatan tradisional Chiropractic membangun satu nilai kepercayaan kepada diri melalui peningkatan literasi dalam wujud terapi dengan menjanjikan penyembuhan yang natural, karena tubuh memiliki kemampuan self healing atau menyembuhkan dirinya sendiri. Diyakini tingginya pilihan masyarakat kota Medan memilih kearifan lokal pengobatan tradisional Chiropractic ini, erat kaitannya dengan eksistensi pengobatan ini sendiri yang mudah didapatkan relatif murah. Hasi penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa tingginya animo masyarakat tersebut ternyata berbanding terbalik pilihan masyarakat kota Medan dengan pengobatan medis. Berkaitan dengan fenomena itu, maka dapat kita munculkan bagaimana fenomena sosial munculnya pilihan pengobatan tradisional chiropractic dan resistensi dekgradasi kepercayaan pada pengobatan medis, tinjauan antropologi sosial masyarakat kota Medan? Adapun sumber data berasal dari informan terpilih secara pourposive dengan mempertimbangkan kelayakan, ketokohan, atau seseorang yang dianggap banyak mengetahui tentang permasalahan yang diteliti. Temuan riset ini kemanfaatannya akan sangat penting karena dapat dijadikan instrumen untuk menjawab realitas sosial mengapa fenomena dekgradasi kepercayaan pada pengobatan medis dapat terjadi pada masyarakat Kota Medan, dan masyarakat mulai menjatuhkan pilihannya pada pengobatan tradisional Chiropractic sebagai salah bentuk kearifan local, tinjauan antropologi sosial.

Abstract

Analisis pemotongan logam ST 37 dengan mesin brander CG1-30 menggunakan bahan bakar gas propane Musicool 22.Pemotongan pelat baja merupakan salah satu proses permesinan yang banyak digunakan di industri. Oleh karena itu, efisiensi dan kemudahan dalam proses pemotongan perlu terus ditingkatkan. Salah satu metode pemotongan yang umum digunakan adalah dengan campuran oksigen dan bahan bakar gas, karena dianggap efektif dan efisien dalam penggunaannya.Penelitian ini berfokus pada penggunaan bahan bakar baru, yaitu campuran gas oksigen dan propane Musicool 22 sebagai alternatif dalam proses pemotongan pelat baja. Karena bahan bakar ini memiliki komposisi yang baru, maka perlu dilakukan analisis mengenai pengaruh laju kecepatan pemotongan terhadap ketebalan pelat agar dapat menentukan kecepatan optimal dalam proses pemotongan.Mesin yang digunakan dalam proses pemotongan adalah gas cutting machine semiotomatis, karena mampu memotong dengan akurat serta memiliki pergerakan yang stabil di atas lintasan rel. Mesin ini juga dilengkapi dengan fitur adjusting speed dalam rentang 50–750 mm/menit, dapat memotong pelat dengan ketebalan 3–100 mm, serta memiliki komponen pengapian yang menghasilkan nyala api stabil.Pengujian dilakukan pada pelat dengan ketebalan 5 mm, 10 mm, dan 15 mm. Hasil pemotongan menggunakan gas cutting machine dengan bahan bakar propane Musicool 22 menunjukkan kecepatan pemotongan optimal untuk pelat 5 mm sebesar 7,1 mm/s, pelat 10 mm sebesar 10,4 mm/s, dan pelat 15 mm sebesar 18,3 mm/s.

Abstract

Scientific publication is one of the main indicators in assessing the academic quality of a lecturer and higher education institution. However, many lecturers still face obstacles in improving the quality and quantity of their publications. One solution to overcome this problem is to apply bibliometric methods in scientific research and publications. Bibliometrics is a data analysis technique that allows researchers to identify research trends, scientific collaboration, and the impact of publications. This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of STAI Nusantara Banda Aceh lecturers in scientific publications through bibliometric training. This training includes an introduction to the basic concepts of bibliometrics, the use of software such as VOSviewer and Publish or Perish, and publication strategies in reputable journals. The evaluation results showed that after attending the training, there was an increase in lecturers' understanding of bibliometric concepts as well as increased motivation in writing and publishing scientific articles. This activity is expected to contribute to improving the quality of scientific publications of lecturers and the academic reputation of STAI Nusantara Banda Aceh.

Abstract

The serious challenges faced by coastal areas are coastal ecosystem degradation due to exploitation of marine resources, abrasion and lack of public awareness of coastal area conservation. This study aims to analyze community empowerment strategies in strengthening coastal ecosystem resilience through Ocean Guardian Village, a community-based development model that emphasizes collaboration between local knowledge, community participation and the principles of sustainable marine ecology. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with thematic analysis. The results of the study indicate that community empowerment through ecoliteracy training, strengthening local institutions, and integration of village programs with multi-stakeholder support is able to increase the role of residents in protecting mangrove areas, managing coastal waste and utilizing marine resources sustainably. The Ocean Guardian Village concept has proven to be relevant as an adaptive action framework in responding to climate change and environmental crises in coastal areas including in Paluh Manan Village in realizing an environmentally friendly village.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using digital comic strips to improve vocabulary mastery among eighth-grade students at SMPN 6 Cilegon. The problem addressed is the low vocabulary achievement caused by conventional teaching methods that are less engaging and lack contextual relevance. To address this, digital comics integrating visual and narrative elements were applied in classroom instruction. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 17 students. A vocabulary test was used as the research instrument, administered before and after the intervention. The results showed that students who learned with digital comic strips demonstrated better vocabulary retention, higher motivation, and more consistent learning outcomes. Difficult words were more easily understood when presented through visual and narrative contexts. The study concludes that digital comic strips are an effective and inclusive instructional medium for vocabulary learning in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) settings. It is recommended that this media be integrated into curriculum design to enhance language learning outcomes.
