Abstract

Digital religious literature circulating on social media has reshaped how university students access and interpret Islamic teachings, yet limited research has examined how the narrative structure of these digital texts influences the formation of religious moderation. This study addresses this gap by analysing how digital interpretations of QS. Al Hujurat 49:13 construct specific emphases of meaning and how students internalise these messages. The research employs a descriptive qualitative design using two types of data: digital religious texts from tafsir applications, YouTube, and Instagram, and interview data from university students. These data were analysed through content analysis and hermeneutic interpretation to identify narrative patterns, framing strategies, and interpretive tendencies. The findings show three key patterns. First, digital interpretations consistently highlight equality, diversity, and social harmony, producing simplified moral messages that are easily circulated. Second, the structure of digital texts compresses and fragments Quranic meaning, reducing engagement with socio historical context and limiting interpretive plurality. Third, students’ levels of digital literacy significantly shape how they evaluate and internalise moderation narratives, functioning as an epistemic filter that distinguishes reflective understanding from superficial acceptance. These findings indicate that digital platforms do not merely transmit religious messages but actively shape interpretive outcomes through narrative design and algorithmic visibility. The study contributes to digital religion scholarship by demonstrating that religious moderation in the digital era is a mediated interpretive product. It recommends strengthening critical digital literacy and improving the contextual quality of digital religious content to support deeper and more balanced interpretations among students.

Abstract

This study aims to construct a philosophical framework of lifelong learning through a meta-synthesis of key concepts in the Qur'an using the thematic interpretation (tafsir maudhu'i) approach, while identifying points of convergence and divergence with contemporary educational philosophy discourse. Employing a philosophical meta-synthesis method with systematic literature review, this research collects and analyzes Qur'anic verses on knowledge, intellect, and learning, and compares them with paradigms of progressivism, humanism, and critical education. The findings indicate that the Qur'an constructs a holistic, integrative, and transcendentally teleological concept of lifelong education (based on ‘ubūdiyyah and khalīfah). Significant convergence is found in the emphasis on active, contextual, learner-centered, and decentralized learning. However, the Qur'an offers a theocentric foundation that provides deep meaning and intrinsic motivation, while also serving as a correction to the tendencies of extreme instrumentalism and secularism in some contemporary streams. The resulting synthesis offers a paradigm of lifelong education that is liberating, meaningful, and relevant for developing educational policies and practices in contemporary Muslim societies.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged adolescents to be more active on social media, online platforms, and various internet-based applications. However, such increased online activity also brings a higher risk of cybercrime, including data theft, phishing, account hacking, and identity misuse. This community service program aims to improve adolescents’ understanding of digital ethics and personal data protection in accordance with Article 39 paragraph (1) of Law Number 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection. The methods applied include educational seminars, digital literacy training, cybercrime case studies, and account security simulations, conducted using a participatory approach among senior high school students. The results revealed a significant increase in participants’ awareness of personal data protection, the ability to recognize privacy violations, and responsible use of digital platforms. Participants were also able to understand the legal consequences of misusing others’ personal data. Therefore, this community service program contributes to early cybercrime prevention, enhances awareness of personal data protection, and strengthens ethical digital behavior. In conclusion, continuous education and regulation-based digital literacy programs are strategic efforts to reduce cybercrime risks among adolescents.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises in Medan City face challenges in adopting digital technologies due to limited digital literacy and infrastructure, yet entrepreneurial leadership offers a pathway to overcome these barriers. This study aims to examine the characteristics, challenges, and strategies faced by MSMEs, as well as to analyze the impact of entrepreneurial leadership on digital business development in the digital economy era. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involves in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation with 10 enterprise owners in Medan who have adopted digital tools for at least three years. The findings reveal that proactive, innovative, and adaptive leadership enables these enterprises to use platforms like social media and e-commerce, enhancing market reach and transaction efficiency. However, inconsistent revenue growth highlights the need for sustained content strategies and advanced training, with only half of the enterprises reporting steady turnover increases. Challenges include low digital literacy, unstable internet, and limited human resources. Government and community support, through training and digital networks, strengthens these efforts. The study concludes that entrepreneurial leadership is vital for digital transformation, but success requires ongoing training and collaboration with stakeholders to build a robust digital ecosystem for enterprises in Medan.

Abstract

Based on statistical data, the population of Bandar Lampung city in 2021 reached 1,184,949 people, consisting of 603,532 males and 581,417 females. Furthermore, the religious composition in Bandar Lampung city based on Disdukcapil statistical data as of December 2021 shows that 93.4% of residents are Muslim, 3.4% Christian, 1.6% Catholic, 1.3% Buddhist, and 0.3% Hindu. Recently, the peaceful and serene city of Bandar Lampung was shocked by the arrest of Khilafatul Muslimin leader Abdul Qadir Hasan Baraja on Tuesday morning, June 7, 2022, at his center on WR. Supratman Street, Bumiwaras, Teluk Betung, Bandar Lampung. As reported, in mid-2022, followers of Khilafatul Muslimin in Bandar Lampung reached 2,000 people. A recent incident, as circulated on YouTube and other social media platforms, occurred in Rajabasa sub-district regarding a controversy over the use of a residential house for Christian worship activities, which culminated in the arrest of the local RT (neighborhood association) chairman, who was allegedly involved in prohibiting the use of the house for worship. This arrest by the Lampung Regional Police sparked solidarity among communities and mass organizations to demonstrate for the RT chairman's release. Efforts to voice the RT chairman's release by several Islamic mass organizations in Bandar Lampung were conducted peacefully at the Lampung High Prosecutor's Office. Meanwhile, the Bandar Lampung City Government, the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, FKUB (Religious Harmony Forum), NU PVC Bandar Lampung, and MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council) coordinated to formally mediate regarding the detention, hoping to prevent the situation from escalating further. Based on these facts, the researchers, together with relevant parties, provide solutions and best alternatives to prevent further disintegration within the community and strengthen understanding of moderate and tolerant religious values through religious moderation strengthening activities for preachers and khatib (Friday sermon deliverers) in Bandar Lampung city. This activity was implemented by providing concepts of religious moderation and tolerance, delivering materials on religious moderation, practicing sermon text preparation, and practicing sermons based on religious moderation.

Abstract

This study examines the principles of inclusive education within tarbawi hadiths through the educational practices of Prophet Muhammad SAW toward children, women, and persons with disabilities. Inclusive education is understood as an educational approach that ensures equal access, justice, and respect for human dignity without discrimination. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a library research design, this study analyzes hadith texts and relevant Islamic education literature to identify inclusive values embedded in prophetic educational practices. The findings indicate that the Prophet’s educational approach was fundamentally inclusive and humanistic. In the education of children, the Prophet emphasized compassion (rahmah) and emotional closeness as the foundation of character building. In terms of women’s education, hadiths demonstrate explicit recognition of women’s rights to access knowledge and participate actively in learning processes. Meanwhile, in educating persons with disabilities, the Prophet applied proportional justice by providing appropriate accommodations without diminishing their social roles or moral status. These findings affirm that inclusive education is not a modern construct imposed upon Islamic thought, but rather an integral part of prophetic pedagogy. The study concludes that the values of compassion, equality, and respect for diversity found in tarbawi hadiths remain highly relevant for developing inclusive Islamic education systems that respond to the needs of diverse learners in contemporary contexts.
