Abstract

This study examines the influence of leadership and the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) on the quality of educational services from the perspectives of teachers and students. Ensuring service quality is essential for schools to remain competitive amid globalization and rapid technological change. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional correlational design, data were collected from 100 respondents (75 students and 25 teachers) through Likert-scale questionnaires. Data analysis employed correlation tests, simple and multiple regression, along with classical assumption tests. The results indicate that leadership and TQM simultaneously have a significant effect on the quality of educational services, with R² values of 0.809 (teachers) and 0.669 (students). However, partial analysis shows that only TQM exerts a statistically significant influence, while the effect of leadership becomes insignificant when controlled alongside TQM. These findings highlight that TQM principles—such as continuous improvement, broad participation, and a focus on customer satisfaction—are the dominant determinants of service quality. The novelty of this study lies in demonstrating the comparative weight of TQM and leadership within the Indonesian school context, showing that effective leadership alone is insufficient without a systematic quality management framework. The study contributes to the theory of educational leadership by clarifying its enabling role in implementing TQM, and to TQM theory by emphasizing its central role in educational service delivery. Practically, the findings suggest that schools and policymakers should prioritize comprehensive TQM adoption supported by transformational leadership to sustain quality improvements.

Abstract

Bali is well-known as a popular tourism location for both local and foreign tourists. There are nine areas designated for tourism, eight of which are coastal. However, due to coastal erosion, the coastline of Bali is changing every year. The purpose of this study is to determine the changes that took place between 2015 and 2020 using Sentinel-1 satellite imagery. The study was conducted along the coastline of Bali Island at coordinates 08° 53' 35.5648" S, 114° 24' 41.8359" E and 08° 00' 46.7865" S, 115° 44' 17.5928" E. The coastlines were identified using the Otsu image thresholding method and linear tidal correction was performed. The coastline change analysis was made using the transect method. Ground truths were conducted in representative areas where major changes had occurred, either as a result of abrasion or accretion. According to the Sentinel-1 analysis, the coastline changes in Bali during the period 2015 – 2020 were mainly caused by abrasion, apart from at Buleleng, which were generally caused by accretion. Abrasion in Bali is dominantly affected by strong currents and high waves meanwhile accretion which having weak currents and low waves was more affected by human factor such as the construction in this study area.

Abstract

Private universities in Jakarta face transformative pressures to manage innovation systematically amid intensifying educational competition and digital technology acceleration. This study aims to describe innovation management practices in Jakarta's private universities, analyze the innovation diffusion process through Rogers' theory, and map institutional positions on the S-curve of innovation diffusion. The study employs an integrative literature review approach, analyzing 32 journal articles from 2021-2025 through three-stage thematic analysis: open coding, axial coding, and narrative synthesis. Findings reveal that innovation management practices develop across three strategic domains: strengthening governance and entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and human resource capacity development. The majority of Jakarta's private universities are in the growth phase (early majority) of the S-curve, with innovation characteristics—relative advantage, compatibility, and observability—as primary adoption drivers, while technological complexity and resource constraints remain barriers. The study also identifies an "adoption leap" phenomenon in AI adoption contexts. This research enriches innovation diffusion theory with the concept of cumulative adoption readiness and provides strategic guidance for strengthening institutional innovation management in Jakarta's private universities.

Abstract

Teacher performance plays a crucial role in educational quality and school effectiveness and is influenced by both organizational and psychological factors. This study examines a multivariate model of teacher performance by analyzing the direct and indirect effects of transformational leadership, empowerment, trust, and achievement motivation among junior high school teachers in Bekasi City. A quantitative survey design was employed involving 177 teachers selected through multistage proportional random sampling from 19 schools. Data were collected using validated five-point Likert-scale instruments and analyzed using SEM-PLS, supported by SITOREM for indicator prioritization. The results show that transformational leadership (β = 0.351), empowerment (β = 0.195), trust (β = 0.271), and achievement motivation (β = 0.189) have significant positive effects on teacher performance. Leadership and empowerment also demonstrate indirect effects through trust and achievement motivation. The model explains a substantial proportion of variance in teacher performance. SITOREM analysis identifies work quantity and achievement orientation as priority areas for improvement, while work quality and teamwork should be maintained.

Abstract

This study examines the role of religious education in shaping resilient Christian character in the era of Society 5.0, where rapid technological and informational developments present complex challenges. Religious education plays a crucial role in building mental and social resilience while providing a strong moral foundation for the younger generation. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) show that 70% of Indonesian adolescents experience mental pressure due to the rapid technological advancements, highlighting the importance of holistic education. Findings from Satya Wacana Christian University reveal that students actively involved in religious education demonstrate more positive social behavior. Additionally, the use of technology in religious education increased by 40% during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering opportunities for innovative learning. However, only 30% of religious education teachers have received specialized training, indicating the need for educational reforms to enhance teaching quality. This study underscores that effective religious education can shape Christian character capable of facing the challenges of the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

This systematic literature review (SLR) examines the barriers hindering the development of teachers’ professional and digital competence in developing countries between 2020 and 2025. The study integrates findings from 30 peer-reviewed journal articles indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. Using the PRISMA 2020 framework, the review identifies five major categories of barriers: (1) individual factors (motivation, self-efficacy, and digital anxiety), (2) institutional and organizational constraints, (3) infrastructural and technological limitations, (4) policy and governance barriers, and (5) socio-cultural and contextual factors. The results reveal that teachers in developing regions face interrelated structural and psychological obstacles that limit their capacity to integrate digital technologies and sustain professional growth. The paper concludes with a conceptual synthesis outlining the need for holistic, context-aware professional development programs and equitable digital access policies.

Abstract

Public knowledge regarding first aid in emergency situations remains low, including in school settings. Teachers and students often lack basic skills in managing emergencies such as cardiac arrest, fainting, choking, or bone fractures. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of teachers and students at Alfityan School Kubu Raya through education, socialization, and demonstrations of Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid for Emergencies (PPGD). The activity employed a participatory approach through lectures, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations. A total of 35 students participated. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test questionnaires to assess changes in participants’ knowledge. The average knowledge score increased from 60.8 to 79.3 after the training. Statistical analysis showed a significant improvement (p<0.05). Participants demonstrated enhanced practical skills in performing CPR, Heimlich maneuver, and immobilization of fractures. Educational and demonstration activities on PPGD effectively improved participants’ knowledge and skills in providing first aid for emergencies. Continuous training and integration of PPGD programs into school curricula are recommended to strengthen preparedness for disasters and medical emergencies

Abstract

Teachers’ Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) represents extra-role behavior that is essential for enhancing school effectiveness and organizational sustainability, particularly in private vocational high schools facing increasing performance demands and institutional competition. This study aims to examine the effects of servant leadership, organizational culture, personality, and work motivation on teachers’ OCB, as well as to determine priority indicators for improvement using SITOREM analysis. A quantitative survey approach was employed involving private vocational high school teachers in West Jakarta. Data were analyzed using path analysis to investigate direct and indirect relationships among variables, and SITOREM analysis to classify indicators into priority areas for immediate improvement and indicators to be maintained or further developed. The results of the path analysis reveal that servant leadership and individual factors significantly influence teachers’ OCB. Furthermore, the SITOREM analysis identifies several priority indicators requiring immediate improvement, including good faith, tolerance, virtue, conscientiousness, willingness to listen, organizational norms, self-confidence, willingness, and emotional stability. Conversely, indicators such as empathy, mutual cooperation, responsibility, appreciation, humility, and openness to experience are categorized as strengths that should be sustained and enhanced. This study contributes to the development of organizational behavior and educational leadership theory and provides an evidence-based strategic framework for school leaders to systematically strengthen teachers’ OCB in vocational education settings.
