Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of women fishermen in Pamekasan in managing family resources and the challenges they face in carrying out these roles. This study uses a qualitative method with in-depth interviews with women fishermen in Pamekasan who were selected purposively and analyzed using a gender analysis approach developed by Caroline O.N. Moser, which divides women's roles into three dimensions: productive, reproductive, and socio-community. The results of the study indicate that women fishermen play a significant role in managing family resources. In the productive dimension, they are involved in managing marine catches and side businesses, such as making salted fish or fish crackers. In the reproductive dimension, despite the large domestic burden, they are able to integrate household tasks with economic activities, maintaining family harmony. In the socio-community dimension, although more supportive, their involvement strengthens the solidarity of the fishing community. However, major challenges related to gender inequality hinder their dual roles. Women fishermen are often hampered by a lack of access to capital, training, and technology that increases business capacity. The heavy burden of domestic work limits the time and energy to develop economic capacity. Inequality in the division of domestic tasks worsens their emotional and mental well-being. On the socio-community side, despite their activeness, women are often isolated from wider social networks, with their social roles under-recognized. This study suggests more comprehensive empowerment measures to address these inequalities, including access to capital, training, and wider social networks.

Abstract

This study conducts a juridical analysis of the limitations in law enforcement against transnational human trafficking (TPPO), focusing on the case study of Indonesian citizens (WNI) exploited in Cambodia through online fraud schemes (scam compounds). Although both Indonesia and Cambodia are bound by international (UNTOC, Palermo Protocol) and regional (ACTIP, MLAT) legal instruments, the effectiveness of cross-border cooperation remains far from optimal. The research identifies major obstacles stemming from inconsistencies in the legal definitions of TPPO and standards of proof, weak mechanisms for extradition and Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA), and inadequate information exchange. Specifically in Cambodia, enforcement is hampered by the inconsistent application of the 2008 TSE Law, insufficient victim protection, and high levels of structural corruption. Using a normative juridical approach, this study concludes that human trafficking, as an extraordinary crime, cannot be addressed unilaterally. It requires strengthened and integrated international cooperation including the optimization of MLA, extradition, the formation of Joint Investigation Teams (JITs), and the harmonization of regulations at the ASEAN level to close legal loopholes and enhance the justice response. Recommendations include improving the capacity of investigators, standardizing TPPO definitions, and establishing comprehensive victim protection mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) to enhance the quality of Islamic Education using a library research approach. By reviewing accredited journals, books, proceedings, and relevant documents, TQM is explored as a strategic approach to improving Islamic Education effectiveness through principles of continuous improvement, customer focus (students), process strengthening, and human resource empowerment. The findings indicate that TQM implementation positively impacts the quality of Islamic Education, teacher professionalism, classroom management, and the development of students' religious character. The study also identifies supporting factors such as Leadership commitment, a quality culture, and data-driven evaluation systems. At the same time, challenges include a limited understanding of TQM concepts and the lack of measurable quality standards for Islamic Education. Literature synthesis emphasizes that integrating TQM into Islamic Education has significant potential to comprehensively enhance Islamic education when applied consistently, collaboratively, and contextually. This research is expected to serve as a conceptual reference for educational institutions in developing TQM-based quality strategies for Islamic Education.

Abstract

One of the problems that often occur in mathematics learning at the elementary school level is the low ability of students to use critical and creative thinking skills, including high-level thinking skills. This is due in part to the weaknesses of students in the aspects of higher-order thinking skills needed to solve problems. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to learn how to propose problems. Submitting a problem itself is giving assignments that encourage students to be able to think critically and creatively. This class action research was conducted to answer "whether the application of learning by submitting a problem can improve the ability to think of high-level students in class IV SDN Middle Hamlet in flat build material?". The results of this study indicate that not all aspects of higher-order thinking skills increase, especially one aspect of creative thinking abilities, namely originality in solving problems. But for aspects of critical thinking skills FRISCO all increased.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the concept of the relativity of human lifespan in order to present a balanced understanding between divine predestination and human effort, while also addressing the assumption of a contradiction between the texts of the Qur’an and the hadith. The study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach and descriptive analysis to explain the findings. The findings indicate that, according to Ibn ‘Ashur, the notion of increase and decrease in lifespan in Surah Fatir verse 11. It shows that such expressions do not indicate any change in Allah’s eternal decree, but rather represents the realization of his will, which always operates in accordance with His knowledge. Human actions such as charity and maintaining family ties are not understood as factors that alter destiny or literally extend lifespan, but instead as signs that Allah has already known and willed the length of a person’s life trought these means. Furtheremore, this article emphasizez that human effort retains its value and significance without negating the certainty of divine knowledge. Inthis way, the study affirms a balanced theological perspective while also opening space for further conceptual discussion on destiny in relation to the realities of contemporary society.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effectiveness of cost leadership and product differentiation strategies in reducing bankruptcy risk among labor-intensive textile and textile product firms in Indonesia. It also analyzes the moderating role of firm size in these relationships.Method: This study adopts a quantitative approach using secondary data derived from the financial reports of textile companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2014–2024 observation period.Result: The findings indicate that both cost leadership and product differentiation strategies significantly reduce bankruptcy risk, suggesting that efficiency-based and innovation-oriented strategies enhance firms’ financial stability. Firm size strengthens the effect of cost leadership on the reduction of bankruptcy risk, implying that larger firms benefit from scale advantages. However, firm size does not significantly moderate the relationship between product differentiation and bankruptcy risk.Practical Implications for Economic Growth and Development: This study provides valuable insights for managers and policymakers in formulating competitive strategies that enhance firm survival and financial resilience in the labor-intensive textile industry. By reducing bankruptcy risk, effective strategic choices may contribute to employment stability, industrial sustainability, and long-term economic growth in developing economies such as Indonesia.Originality/Value: This study offers new empirical evidence by comparing the effects of cost leadership and product differentiation strategies on bankruptcy risk and by examining the moderating role of firm size in Indonesia’s labor-intensive textile industry, an area that has received limited attention in previous research.
