Abstract

The present study aims to examine the influence of emotions on the formation of social interactions among primary school-aged children in Malang City. The research sample consisted of two hundred children selected randomly from ten public or private elementary schools. The frequency and intensity of children's emotional expressions and emotional management abilities were primarily assessed through questionnaires and observation guides. Diverse aspects of social interactions and emotions were evaluated using a Likert scale ranging from "very rarely" to "very often" on a scale of 1 to 5. Multiple linear regression was utilized to examine the relationship between emotional regulation and relationship quality, and the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Algorithm was implemented to assess the validity of the instruments. Significant positive correlations were observed between the number of peers one has and the degree of happiness expressed. However, no observable correlation was found between the number of acquaintances or social interactions and emotions of sadness or rage.

Abstract

This research explores the verbal and symbolic aggression of Madurese women students. These two things will be examined as the leading models by looking at the oral and symbolic aggression models for Madurese women. Women’s aggression is a complex form of behavior. This complexity is essential to the cyclical activities of the self and its environment. Madurese women ‘do not have a voice’ in voicing their own opinions including in rural electoral power politics and household economic autonomy. This research uses mixed methods, quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative research uses statistical analysis using confirmatory factorial analysis (CFA), while qualitative research uses descriptive data about the types and forms of verbal aggression in women. Both explore verbal and symbolic tendencies of aggression in Madurese women. The women involved were students at universities in Madura. The research results show that women prefer symbolic aggression to verbal aggression. Women with higher education prefer symbolic aggression to verbal aggression. Types and forms of verbal aggression include cha’-nguca’e, hitting, pulling, harming, and injuring. This oral does not lead to the loss of another person's life. Another finding is that a symbolic attack always follows every verbal aggression. Meanwhile, symbolic aggression involves gossip, talking about bad things about other women with slander and backbiting, spitting on other people’s property rights, inviting other people to hate other women, constantly talking about other people’s bad things, looking for reasons to hate other people, not coming meeting with hated people.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the implementation of planning, implementation and evaluation of learning of Vygotsky constructivism through project-based learning on IPA exploration. This research uses a qualitative approach to the type of case study research. A case study is an enquiry to investigate phenomena occurring on the ground. This research was conducted at SDN Mojolangu 3 Kota Malang and the research subjects were 3 class teachers, students of 4.5 and 6. Data was collected through interview techniques, observations, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion delivery. The initial phase analysis is done by designing learning to determine the theme of the project, determine the implementation, and carry out evaluations to find out the project's success. Research results show that the application of Vygotsky learning through project-based learning to IPa learning can create new experiences for students and attract attention. Vygotsky's approach to constructivism emphasises student-centred learning in the acquisition of knowledge and the process of interaction with the social environment. Active participation of students in learning as the application of constructivist theory can be implemented in project-based learning, where learning project-based learning is one of the learning models that uses projects in problem-solving and student involvement independently through peer mediation in completing a project that has been designed by the teacher.

Abstract

This research focuses on the development and validation of a scale to measure the social skills of junior high school students in Indonesia. The study involved 420 students from various regions, utilizing a quantitative approach with a Likert rating questionnaire of four choices. The Rasch model was employed for analysis using Winsteps software. The item reliability index yielded a robust value of 0.80. Evaluation of item polarity across all aspects fell within the range of 0.12 to 0.78, while outfit-MNSQ values ranged from 0.12 to 1.90. Fourteen items were identified as unfit, failing to meet criteria due to Outfit MNSQ values > 1.5 and Pt Measure Correlation < 0.4, leading to their elimination. Additionally, two items with Outfit MNSQ > 1.5 were earmarked for editorial revision. The analysis revealed four items with nearly identical logit values, indicating redundancy in measurement. Consequently, one item from each pair was retained, simplifying the instrument. The study affirms the validity and reliability of the measurement instrument, indicating its suitability for assessing junior high school students' social skills.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the effect of service learning on students' prosocial behaviour in boarding schools. A quantitative research approach with a quasi-experimental research design was used in this study. Researchers chose to use a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design, which is a design that measures the behaviour of the experimental group and control group before and after treatment. The population in this study were Santri Pondok Pesantren Sabilul Ihsan Pamekasan with the characteristics of boarding students and following the study of Kitab Bidayatul Hidayah. Total sampling was carried out because the population in the study was small, then grouped into experimental groups and control groups. The collected data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANOVA) with the SPSS 16 for Windows program. From the analysis that has been done, the results of this study indicate that (1) There are differences in the prosocial behaviour of boarding school students before and after the application of the service learning method in the experimental class. (2) The application of the service learning method is more effective than the bandongan method to improve the students' prosocial behaviour. The results found that service learning had a greater effect on the prosocial behaviour of boarding school students in the experimental group than the students in the control group. The application of service learning conducted in the experimental group was able to increase the prosocial behaviour of students with an effective contribution of 50.1 per cent.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing increase in cyber bullying and the negative impacts it causes. This research aims to develop a cyberbullying measurement instrument using a mixed methods approach involving three stages. Theme exploration stage, namely the qualitative stage with open questionnaire data collection techniques to explore themes surrounding Cyberbullying. At this stage the data analysis technique applied is open coding (65 participants). The testing stage is the content validity stage where the instrument is assessed by experts using the Aiken formula. This stage also includes factor analysis with an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) approach which helps identify the factorial structure underlying the instrument, relationships between items, and grouping items based on dimensions (270 participants). Scale validation stage where at this stage confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was carried out to test and validate the factorial model identified through EFA (789 Participants). Sampling technique uses convenience sampling technique. The results of the research show that based on the CFA test, the cyber bullying scale showed that all items had loading factor values >0.5 and construct reliability >0.7, as well as AVE results >0.5, so that all the items used were forming factors of the latent variable. The items used are valid and reliable items so they can be relied upon as research measuring tools. Reliable Cyberbullying measurement instruments can more precisely identify cyberbullying behavior and thus can assist in a better understanding of this phenomenon, so that prevention and intervention efforts can be targeted more effectively.

Abstract

Academic stress not only occurs in students at school but also occurs in many college students. Several studies have shown that irrational thoughts about self-confidence and low resilience are related to high academic stress. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of resilience training to reduce academic stress in students. This study is an experimental study with a Randomized Pre-Test, Post-Test, and Follow-Up (RPPF) design. Researchers randomly divided participants into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received eight sessions of resilience training intervention for three weeks, with two to three sessions per week, each lasting 90 minutes. Both groups underwent measurements before the intervention (pre-test), after the intervention (post-test), and two weeks after the intervention (follow-up). This research instrument used an academic stress scale (α =0.842). Data analysis using Multivariate Analysis of Covariance showed that resilience training had significant effectiveness in reducing academic stress in students. The implications of further research are discussed.

Abstract

Previous studies have emphasized the influence of the school environment on students' prosocial behavior. However, few studies still concentrate on alternative mechanisms that contribute to developing students' prosocial behavior. This study aimed to investigate how moral identity plays a role as a mediator in the relationship between school climate and students' prosocial behavior in inclusive schools. A cluster random sampling technique was used to select participants. This study included 872 children attending inclusive schools in Surabaya City. The research instrument used a scale of moral identity (α=0.918), prosocial behavior (0.740), and school climate (0.889). Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The study's findings indicate a positive relationship between the overall school climate and the tendency of regular students in inclusive schools to engage in prosocial activities. This relationship is influenced by the role of moral identity as a mediator. These findings enhance our understanding of the importance of moral identity and have practical implications for intervention programs aimed at improving prosocial behavior among regular students in inclusive schools.
