Abstract

ABSTRACT: Social comparison among adolescents in the digital era has the potential to affect their psychological well-being. This study aims to test the effectiveness of a single-session psychoeducation session “Kenali Diri” in improving adolescents’ understanding of social comparison. The study used a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involving 49 eleventh-grade students at a senior high school in Malang City, selected through cluster random sampling. The research instrument consisted of 10 cognitive questions based on levels C1-C2 of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Data were analyzed using a paired samples t-test after meeting the normality assumption as indicated by the Shapiro–Wilk with p=.106 (p>.05). The results demonstrated an increase in students’ cognitive understanding scores after participating in psychoeducation (p<.001) with a moderate effect strength (d=.55). Brief school-based psychoeducation is effective in improving adolescents’ basic psychological literacy related to social comparison. Further programs are recommended to be developed sustainably, enriched with practical components to support adolescent mental health in the school environment. Key words: psychoeducation, student, adolescent, social comparison. ABSTRAK: Kecenderungan perbandingan sosial di kalangan remaja di era digital berpotensi memengaruhi kesejahteraan psikologis mereka. Abstract

Abstract In the world of education, teacher well-being and happiness play a vital role in creating an effective and positive learning environment for students. Teachers who experience a deep sense of satisfaction and fulfillment in their professional duties are more likely to be motivated, engaged, and emotionally invested in the academic growth and success of their students. This study aims to determine the welfare of honorary teachers in a remote area, namely Talango Elementary School, Sumenep. This study uses a phenomenological approach with participants study This are six honorary teachers from S ekolah Dasar Negeri 1 Talango Sumenep. Eudaimonia and teacher happiness are two important aspects that influence job satisfaction and overall well-being in the field of education. There are several factors that contribute to teacher happiness. Teacher job happiness is very important in the successful implementation of educational reform and has a significant impact on their work performance, commitment, and motivation. Teachers who are satisfied and happy in their jobs are more likely to create positive and effective learning experiences for their students. Teachers in remote areas have close relationships with their students, which is beneficial for teacher well-being. Future research can further explore empirical evidence to support the proposed relationship between teacher well-being and student well-being

Abstract

The rapid growth of short-form social media platforms has intensified concerns regarding digital distraction and its implications for adolescents’ academic experiences. This systematic review aims to synthesize empirical evidence on the relationship between digital distraction associated with short-form social media use and academic identity among adolescents. Academic identity is conceptualized as adolescents’ self-perception, commitment, and sense of belonging related to academic roles and learning activities. Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic search was conducted across multiple academic databases to identify peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2020 and 2024. Eleven studies met the inclusion criteria and were included in the final synthesis. The reviewed studies employed cross-sectional, experimental, and mixed-method designs, with samples consisting primarily of adolescents and secondaryschool students. Quality appraisal was conducted using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal tools. The findings indicate that digital distraction, particularly in the context of intensive short-form social media engagement, is consistently associated with reduced academic focus, fragmented attention, and weakened academic identity. Adolescents who reported higher levels of distraction exhibitedlower academic self-concept, reduced motivation, and diminished engagement with academic tasks. While some studies explicitly examined TikTok use, others addressed short-form or social media use more broadly, suggesting that the observed effects reflect platform-amplified rather than platform-exclusive mechanisms. Protective factors, including strong academic identity, self-regulation skills, and supportiveeducational environments, were found to mitigate the negative academic consequences of digital distraction. Emotional responses related to perceived academic loss, conceptualized as academic grief, emerged as secondary outcomes when prolonged distraction contributed to disengagement and perceived academic failure. Overall, this review highlights academic identity as a central psychological construct linking digital distraction to adolescents’ academic functioning. The findings underscore the need for future longitudinal research to clarify developmental pathways and for educational interventions that strengthen academic identity and digital self-regulation in digitally saturated learning environments.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing increase in cyber bullying and the negative impacts it causes. This research aims to develop a cyberbullying measurement instrument using a mixed methods approach involving three stages. Theme exploration stage, namely the qualitative stage with open questionnaire data collection techniques to explore themes surrounding Cyberbullying. At this stage the data analysis technique applied is open coding (65 participants). The testing stage is the content validity stage where the instrument is assessed by experts using the Aiken formula. This stage also includes factor analysis with an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) approach which helps identify the factorial structure underlying the instrument, relationships between items, and grouping items based on dimensions (270 participants). Scale validation stage where at this stage confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was carried out to test and validate the factorial model identified through EFA (789 Participants). Sampling technique uses convenience sampling technique. The results of the research show that based on the CFA test, the cyber bullying scale showed that all items had loading factor values >0.5 and construct reliability >0.7, as well as AVE results >0.5, so that all the items used were forming factors of the latent variable. The items used are valid and reliable items so they can be relied upon as research measuring tools. Reliable Cyberbullying measurement instruments can more precisely identify cyberbullying behavior and thus can assist in a better understanding of this phenomenon, so that prevention and intervention efforts can be targeted more effectively.

Abstract

This study aimed to adapt and validate the Job Satisfaction Scale (JSS) developed by Çalışkan and Köroğlu (2024) into the Indonesian context. The adaptation followed the International Test Commission (ITC) guidelines through forward–backward translation, expert review, and readability testing. The study involved 250 employees from public and private sectors across Indonesia using a quantitative ex post facto design. Data were analyzed using Cronbach’s alpha and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The results showed high internal consistency for the overall scale (α = .956), with Internal Satisfaction (α = .901) and External Satisfaction (α = .925) demonstrating strong reliability. The CFA model indicated excellent fit indices (CFI = .999; RMSEA = .025), confirming the two-factor structure of the scale. These findings suggest that the Indonesian version of the JSS is a psychometrically valid and reliable instrument for assessing job satisfaction among Indonesian employees. Future studies are recommended to examine its measurement invariance across occupational and regional groups to strengthen its generalizability.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of dhikr therapy in reducing social anxiety in students at Islamic boarding schools. Using an experimental design with an experimental group that underwent dhikr therapy and a control group that did not receive intervention, this study measured changes in social anxiety using the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS) before and after the intervention. The results of the Wilcoxon analysis showed that the experimental group experienced a significant decrease in social anxiety with a Z value of -2.81 and p <0.05, while the control group did not show a significant change (Z = -0.577, p > 0.05). Dhikr therapy is effective in reducing social anxiety in students, both in terms of avoidance and anxiety. These results are in line with the theory of religious psychology and mindfulness, which shows that dhikr practices can calm the mind and increase emotional stability, helping individuals manage anxiety in social interactions. This study supports the application of dhikr therapy as an effective approach to reducing social anxiety in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of honor culture in mediating emotional regulation and students' aggressive behavior at school. The research participants were 245 students at high schools in Manggarai Regency, Flores, NTT, Indonesia who were recruited using purposive judgment sampling techniques. Research data collection used an aggression behavior scale, an emotional regulation scale and a culture of honor scale. All scales have been validated using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Data analysis used a mediation model regression, with the help of the SPSS For Windows 3.5.2 program. The research results show that honor culture plays a significant role in mediating the relationship between emotional regulation and students' aggressive behavior. Educators should empower a culture of honor to improve students' emotional regulation so that they do not behave aggressively at school.
