Abstract

This study looked at students' literacy skills by using modules based on realistic mathematics education (RME) approaches of cultural value. The use of modules in learning that are developed according to the needs of students can help students in learning to develop student literacy skills, the modules used have been through validation tests and effectiveness tests so that they can be implemented to students, the design of this research is non equivalent control group design, which consists of control classes and experimental classes. From the results of the research, it is known that the use of modules based on rme approach is culturally valuable, can improve students' literacy ability by 78% which can be classified as effective

Abstract

Kecemasan matematika adalah bentuk perasaan seseorang baik gugup, takut dan takut, cemas atau takut dalam menghadapi masalah matematika atau dalam melakukan pembelajaran matematika. Perkembangan gejala kecemasan matematika sangat mengkhawatirkan, sehingga pembelajaran matematika menjadi kurang efektif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik kecemasan siswa SMA dalam pembelajaran matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa SMA. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen wawancara dimodifikasi dari instrumen Abbreviated Math Anxiety Scale (AMAS) yang terdiri dari 9 item soal dan 2 aspek kecemasan matematika. Data yang telah diperoleh akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode perbandingan tetap. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat karakteristik kecemasan matematika siswa SMA yang dapat dibagi menjadi 3 jenis; tipe cemas, tipe cemas dalam proses belajar, dan tipe cemas dalam evaluasi. Tipe cemas merupakan kategori kelompok yang terdiri dari mata pelajaran yang perlu diperhatikan. Tipe cemas dalam proses adalah kategori kelompok yang terdiri dari mata pelajaran yang dibutuhkan untuk cemas dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Tipe cemas dalam evaluasi adalah kategori kelompok yang terdiri dari mata pelajaran yang cemas tentang aspek evaluasi matematis. Kata kunci: Kecemasan, Matematika, Proses Pembelajaran, Evaluasi

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pentingnya Kemampuan Berpikir Reflektif Matematis (KBRM) Kemampuan tersebut mendukung keberhasilan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan lainnya seperti menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam matematika. Tahapan KBRM berguna untuk mengetahui sampai jenjang mana seseorang sudah mencapainya. Bahan ajar juga menunjang untuk peningkatan KBRM, dengan demikian pada penelitian ini akan dikembangkan bahan ajar untuk meningkatan tahapan kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis. Dengan demikian, target khusus penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan bahan ajar yang mendukung peningkatan tahapan KBRM. Metode yang  dilakukan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar KBRM adalah penelitian pengembangan. Kegiatan pengembangan bahan ajar tahapan KBRM meliputi 1) analisis kebutuhan, 2) pengembangan produk, 3) validasi desain dengan uji ahli, 4) revisi desain, dan 5) uji coba skala kecil. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA di Kota Serang. Hasil yang sudah diperoleh adalah bahan ajar cetak berupa lembar kerja siswa yang sesuai 7 tahapan KBRM yang berisi judul, materi, indikator, soal KBRM, panduan pertanyaan meningkatkan  KBRM.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the lack of ability of student teachers of mathematics FKIP University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa in developing worksheets and media exploratory hands on activity. Based on observations in the course clump of learning (planning, strategies and evaluation) and the implementation of microteaching done by the students, obtained the fact that students in developing a worksheet is a collection of questions and do not require the capability of understanding the concept of the student. In addition, student teachers are still rarely use the media in learning, due to difficulties in designing and creating instructional media. Hence the need for teaching material that can be used as guides student teachers to develop explorative and media worksheet hands on activity. Thus the formulation of the problem and the purpose of this study is how to develop teaching material based worksheets and media exploratory hands on activity. The method used in this research is the development method includes preliminary studies, draft development, testing and development of the final product.The results of this research is a module consisting of four units, units of learning theory, the difference unit worksheets and job sheets, media unit hands on activity and worksheet exploratory unit. In each unit consists of several sub-units that correspond to the unit. Based on the results of expert testing and limited trials showed that the worksheet-based development modules exploratory and hands on activity worthy of media used. Keywords: Teaching Material, Worksheet Explorative, Media Hands on Activuty

Abstract

This research aims to gain quality learning materials gamifikasi of mathematics seen in terms of feasibility, attractiveness, as well as to obtain responses to learners and educators in learning materials that have been developed. The subject developed was set. One of the basic necessities in the process of teaching and learning are the presence of materials of interest. The research method used i.e. research and development (Research and Development) consisting of: (1) model development, (2) development of procedures, and (3) product trials that are components in research development (developmental Research). Based on the analysis of data obtained from some experts that is media experts, linguists, and the material can be stated that the learning materials gamifikasi of mathematics worthy of use, and the results of the analysis of data obtained from educators and learners is expressed that the materials developed are very interesting. Abstract

The research is a qualitative descriptive research, the purpose of this research is to analyze students reflective thinking ability in terms of learning style. learning style in this research consists of three types namely visual, auditorial, and kinestetik. The subjects of the study were class VIII in one of the middle schools in Serang district selected by purposive sampling. Based on the analysis results obtained description of students' reflective mathematical thinking ability as follows: (1) Visual students have been able to provide interpretation but not yet complete and correct calculation; (2) Auditorial and kinesthetic students are able to provide correct interpretation and calculation. (3) In identifying the concept, visual students have been able to identify the formulas, auditorial and kinesthetic students have not been able to. (4) In evaluating/checking the validity of visual and auditorial students is already capable while kinestetik yet. (5) In distinguishing between relevant data visual and auditorial students have been able, and kinesthetic students have not been able. (6) In drawing the analogy of two cases, visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic students have not been able to. (7) In harmonizing with reason, visual, auditorial and kinesthetic students have not been able.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan kemampuan spasial siswa sekolah dasar melalui pengkostruksian volume bangun ruang. Metode yang digunakan adalah design research terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu: preparing for the experiment; design experiment (Pilot experiment dan teaching experiment), dan retrospective analysis. Penelitiaan ini mengembangkan kemampuan spaisal dalam pembelajaran bangun ruang melalui serangkaian aktivitas, prosedur, dan strategi bagi siswa dalam menemukan kemampuan berpikir melalui pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education. Hasil penelitian ini berupa learning trajectory pada masing-masing aktivitas yaitu: 1) Aktivitas 1, siswa mengenal benda terkait dengan situasi kehidupan sehari-hari yang memiliki kapasitas atau volume kubus dan balok. 2) Aktivitas 2, siswa mampu beralih dari situasi kontekstual ke tingkat yang lebih abstrak yaitu menggambar konstruksi kubus dan balok. 3) Aktivitas 3, siswa mampu  memahami struktur dan menggunakan strategi penataan ruang untuk menentukan jumlah kubus dan balok.

Abstract

The background of the research is based on the fact that problem solving skills and its process is still low so that those create overload information. Another way to overcome this problem is to use a problem-based learning model which concerns on cognitive load theory. This study is aimed to determine on how students' problem solving skills when using a problem-based learning model modified by cognitive load theory. This research method uses a combination of research methods, namely quantitative as primary data and qualitative as secondary data. The population in this study are all students of grade VII Junior High School accredited A in Tangerang Regency. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling and the selected sample is 60 students of Grade VII SMP Negeri 3 Cikupa which divided into experimental class and control class. The instruments in this research are 5 short essay tests and non-tests, questionnaire and interview. Based on data analysis’ result, it can be concluded that the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities which use problem-based learning model modified by cognitive load theory is better than for those using problem-based learning generally.

Abstract

This study aims to describe student’s skills in explaining mathematical ideas using pictures and algebra based on Mason, Burton, and Stacey theory to solve a polyhedral problem. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subject of this research is grade IX students of SMPN 7 Kota Serang. Data were collected by test and interview methods. The analysis technique used is using the theory of Mason, Burton, and Stacey which include specializing, generalizing, conjecturing, and convincing. The results of this research showing that the student’s skills in explaining mathematical ideas using pictures and algebra which can be classified into three types of answers, namely; 1) incomplete picture answer type where students cannot fulfill the thinking stage of specializing, generalizing, conjecturing, and convincing, 2) semi-complete picture answer type where students can fulfill the thinking stage of specializing, but difficult for fulfill the thinking stage of generalizing, conjecturing, and convincing, 3) complete picture answer type where students can fulfill the thinking stage of specializing, generalizing, and conjecturing, but still difficult for fulfill the thinking stage of convincing. These results are expected to be the teacher’s consideration in carrying out the learning process in the classroom, in determining methods and teaching materials, which are expected to be able to improve student’s skills and accuracy.

Abstract

In the event of the COVID 19 pandemic, face-to-face learning in the classroom is replaced with online learning. In online learning, there needs to be an interesting and innovative learning plan in order for the learning to continue. Based on this, this research aims to produce teaching materials in the form of learning videos about SPLDV materials with problem based learning by using edmodo platform. This type of this research is Research and Development (R&D) with ADDIE model. This model has five steps or stages, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The subjects in this study were grade VIII students of SMPN 6 Serang on the even semester of  2019/2020. The results showed that the validation of material experts and media experts was 75,29% and 79,44% with the criteria "Worthy". Teacher response and student response were 83,52% and 89,03% with "Very Decent" criteria. While in the learning outcomes students get an average score of 83.2 with the percentage interval of student learning outcomes is 80% who get good criteria. This indicates that the teaching materials in the form of learning videos are effective for use.
