Abstract

Latar Belakang: Air adalah suatu kebutuhan dasar dalam kehidupan manusia yang biasa digunakan untuk mandi, mencuci, memasak, dan minum. Banyak penyakit yang sering menjumpai manusia berasal dari cemaran air. Mutu air minum secara biologis sangat penting karena diantaranya bisa menyebabkan munculnya berbagai macam penyakit salah satu nya diare yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Escerichia Coli. Menurut data DINKES Kalimantan Selatan pada tahun 2020 terjadi kasus diare sebanyak 5412 kasus, jumlah kasus ini mengalami kenaikan dari tahun 2019 yang terjadi sebanyak 1073 kasus. Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) mengatur bahwa maksimal cemaran mikroba dalam pangan olahan tidak boleh mengandung satupun bakteri Coliform. Coliform adalah salah satu penanda buruk nya kondisi air juga kebersihan pengelolaan pangan, penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa 5 sampel dari 16 DAMIU daerah kayutangi positif Coliform. Tujuan: Mengetahui cemaran bakteri coliform dan identifikasi bakteri Escerichia Coli pada air galon di jl Pramuka Banjarmasin. Metode: Metode observasional deskriptif menggunakan MPN meliputi penguat, penduga, dan pelengkap. Hasil: Hasil yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini dengan metode MPN pada uji penguat dan penduga dari 13 sampel semua positif mengandung bakteri Coliform dan kemudian pada metode MPN pada uji pelengkap 11 dari 13 sampel positif mengandung bakteri Coliform dan Escherichia Coli. Simpulan: Pada 11 dari 13 sampel menunjukkan bahwa sampel positif mengandung bakteri Coliform dan Escherichia Coli di Jl.Pramuka Banjarmasin.

Abstract

Penyakit infeksi merupakan suatu penyakit yang disebabkan karena virus, bakteri, protozoa ataupun jamur. Penggunaan antibiotik dalam pengobatan infeksi dapat menimbulkan efek samping dan resistensi. Daun pulutan secara empiris digunakan sebagai penurun panas, rematik, luka, bisul, dan sebagai antiseptik. Daun pulutan mengandung metabolit sekunder alkaloid, saponin, dan flavonoid yang diduga memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun pulutan (Urena lobata L) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, menentukan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) dan Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum (KBM) ekstrak daun pulutan (Urena lobata L) Terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah true experimental. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi cakram dan dilusi cair. Kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan Kruskal-Wallis dan Mann Whitney. Hasil ekstrak daun pulutan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri pada konsentrasi 100% zona hambat 14,09 mm dan konsentrasi 80% zona hambat 11,09 mm. Nilai KHM terdapat pada konsentrasi 80% dan tidak memiliki nilai KBM. Hasil uji statistik menunjukan terdapat perbedaan bermakna p value 0,004 pada Kruskall Wallis dan pada Mann Whitney menunjukan p value 0,025. Dapat disimpulkan Daun Pulutan (Urena lobata L) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri kategori kuat. Nilai KHM terdapat pada konsentrasi 80% dan tidak memiliki nilai KBM terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

Tanaman Benalu (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq.) merupakan salah satu kelompok tanaman yang dapat tumbuh liar, melekat menjadi parasit pada tanaman lain. Tanaman ini juga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai antioksidan, antiinflamasi dan antibakteri. Mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak dan fraksi n-Hexan daun Benalu (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq.) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Bacillus subtilis dan Enterobacter aerogenes. Metode yang digunakan adalah True Experimental yang membagi ekstrak dan fraksi n-Hexan menjadi beberapa kelompok perlakuan yaitu konsentrasi ekstrak dan fraksi 25%, 50%, dan 100%, serta kontrol negatif dan kontrol positif. Pengujian potensi antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi cakram dengan mengukur diameter zona hambat yang terbentuk.Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Bacillus subtilis dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 50; 100% diameter zona hambat sebesar 16,72; 22,28 mm. Sedangkan, dengan konsentrasi fraksi 50; 100% diameter zona hambat sebesar 9,90; 19,00 mm. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Enterobacter aerogenes dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 25; 50; 100% diameter zona hambat sebesar 14,49; 17,43; 22,52 mm. Sedangkan, dengan konsentrasi fraksi 25; 50; 100% diameter zona hambat sebesar 2,19; 17,46; 18,18 mm. Pada penelitian ini ekstrak mempunyai zona hambat yang lebih besar terhadap bakteri Bacillus subtilis dan Enterobacter aerogenes daripada fraksi n-Hexan pada seluruh konsentrasi yang diujikan.

Abstract

Background: According to WHO (2018), there are cases of antibiotic resistance in 500,000 people with suspected bacterial infections in 22 countries. Jeruju fruit extract (Achantus ilicifolius L.) has antibacterial activity because it contains secondary metabolite compounds such as alkoloids, phenols, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroids, which are expected to be an alternative choice in the treatment of bacterial infections. Objective: To identify the antibacterial activity of jeruju fruit extract (Achantus ilicifolius L.) against the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi to determine the MIC and KBM values. Method: Type of research design True Experimental Research Posttest Only With Control Group research design. Antibacterial testing uses disc diffusion and dilution methods. With concentrations of 500mg/ml, 800mg/ml, 1000mg/ml, positive control ciproflaxacin and negative control DMSO. Results: The results of the diffusion test showed that jeruju fruit extract was able to inhibit the growth of bacteria, there was a clear zone around the paper disc at a concentration of 500 mg/ml (9.95 mm). The results of the dilution test have a minimum inhibition at a concentration of 500mg/ml seen in clear media and the ability to kill bacteria at a concentration of 1000mg/ml. It can be said that jeruju fruit extract has MIC and KBM concentration values. Conclusion: Jeruju fruit extract has antibacterial activity with an inhibitory zone at a concentration of 500mg/ml (9.95 mm) and has the power to kill Salmonella typhi bacteria at a concentration of 1000mg/ml.

Abstract

Background: Dyslipidemia is a disease that can have a negative impact on human health. Dyslipidemia treatment has 3 levels based on intensity, namely disease with high intensity, medium intensity, and low intensity. In this study, the drugs used were Pravastatin and Rosuvastatin, both of which were of medium intensity. Objective: Knowing the comparison of the effectiveness of the drugs Rosuvastatin and Pravastatin as anti-dyslipidemia in rats. Methods: The research method used in this study is True Experimental. The research design used in this study was the posttest only control group, namely by taking samples after being given the drugs Rosuvastatin and Pravastatin, so that it would be seen the effectiveness of the treatment given to the group of rats tested. Results: Rosuvastatin can lower LDL cholesterol better than Pravastatin because rosuvastatin has the highest binding interaction with HMG-CoA reductase, resulting in the strongest inhibition of cholesterol synthesis of all other statin groups. Pravastatin has the ability to lower LDL. From the results of the average values of the two statin class drugs, Rosuvastatin has a better average value than Pravastatin, but the statistical results can be concluded that there is no significant difference from the 0.5% Na CMC control to Rosuvastatin compared to Pravastatin. Conclusion: The statin class drug Rosuvastatin has better effectiveness than Pravastatin.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia has natural wealth in the form of plants that can provide benefits to humans in terms of medicine and health, one of which is papaya leaves. This plant has many health benefits, such as being a source of nutrients, antioxidants, helping maintain a healthy digestive tract, managing diabetes, helping reduce inflammation, and helping skin health. Papaya leaves have been identified to contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroids/triterpenoids. Pharmacognostic studies are a systematic process of investigating, studying, and analyzing a topic, problem, or phenomenon using scientific methods or a structured approach.Objective: This research aims to understand the physical, chemical and pharmacological properties of papaya leaf simplicia.Methods: This type of research is experimental research, in testing papaya leaves extracts were made using the maceration method.Results: The analysis results showed that the drying loss of papaya leaf samples was -63.04%, in accordance with herbal pharmacopoeia standards which require drying loss ≤ 10%. Meanwhile, the water soluble extract content test produced a value of 21.976%, while the ethanol soluble extract content test showed a value of 21.872%. The results of the non-specific parameter test showed that the total ash content of papaya leaves was 11.025%, while the acid insoluble ash content was 0.82%. Conclusion: The maceration extraction method with 96% ethanol solvent was proven to be effective in extracting these compounds from papaya leaves.

Abstract

Abstract. Hypertension is a significant health problem contributing to increased morbidity and mortality due to cardiovascular diseases. Low adherence to long-term therapy and limited public understanding of hypertension management highlight the need for an herbal-based educational approach that is more easily accepted by the community. This study aims to improve the knowledge of posyandu cadres regarding herbal therapy through education and practical administration of celery juice. The method employed was a community education activity conducted in Desa Sungai Baru with 11 participants. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test assessments, along with blood pressure measurements before and after the intervention. Results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge scores from 10–30 to 90–100, with an average improvement of 79.1%. Additionally, all participants experienced a reduction in systolic blood pressure by 13–20 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 8–15 mmHg. These findings indicate that education about celery juice is effective in enhancing cadre knowledge and has a positive impact on blood pressure control. The conclusion is that herbal education using celery juice can be an applicable and relevant non-pharmacological alternative in promotive and preventive efforts against hypertension at the community level. Abstrak. Hipertensi merupakan masalah kesehatan yang signifikan serta berkontribusi pada peningkatan morbiditas dan mortalitas akibat penyakit kardiovaskular. Rendahnya kepatuhan terhadap terapi jangka panjang dan terbatasnya pemahaman masyarakat tentang penanganan hipertensi menyoroti perlunya pendekatan edukasi berbasis herbal yang lebih mudah diterima oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader posyandu mengenai terapi herbal melalui edukasi dan praktik pemberian jus seledri. Metode yang digunakan adalah kegiatan edukasi masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di Desa Sungai Baru dengan 11 peserta. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan penilaian pre-test dan post-test, serta pengukuran tekanan darah sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan skor pengetahuan peserta dari 10–30 menjadi 90–100, dengan rata-rata peningkatan sebesar 79,1%. Selain itu, seluruh peserta mengalami penurunan tekanan darah sistolik sebesar 13–20 mmHg dan tekanan darah diastolik sebesar 8–15 mmHg. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa edukasi tentang jus seledri efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan kader dan memberikan dampak positif terhadap pengendalian tekanan darah. Kesimpulannya, edukasi herbal menggunakan jus seledri dapat menjadi alternatif non-farmakologis yang aplikatif dan relevan dalam upaya promotif dan preventif terhadap hipertensi di tingkat masyarakat.
