Abstract

Bullying in educational settings remains a significant challenge, despite the integration of moral education into the curriculum aimed at shaping students' character and reducing negative behaviors. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of moral education in addressing bullying while identifying barriers to its success. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with students and educators as participants. Data were analyzed thematically and through descriptive statistics to provide a comprehensive understanding. The key findings reveal a discrepancy between the moral values taught in schools and students' daily behavior. Barriers include inconsistent application of moral values, external influences such as social media, limited family involvement, and an overemphasis on formal religious practices without the internalization of moral values. This study concludes that a systematic and collaborative approach involving schools, families, and communities is essential to effectively reduce bullying, including refining moral education with a more comprehensive and practical approach applicable to students’ daily lives.

Abstract

This research aims to determine and describe the use of media in learning Islamic Religious Education at SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan Siblah Krueng, Bireuen Regency. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach, while the method used in this research is a descriptive research method. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of research conducted, it shows that the use of learning media can increase students' understanding and arouse students' enthusiasm and interest in participating in the learning process. Furthermore, the use of learning media ensures diversity and variety of learning methods, thereby enabling students to gain a more comprehensive understanding. In implementing media-based learning activities, Islamic religious education teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan Siblah Krueng, Bireuen Regency face several obstacles such as limited resources, technical skills, training support, and creativity development. Solutions that can be taken to overcome these obstacles include improving facilities, training teachers in learning technology, and encouraging teacher creativity by using available media so that the teaching and learning process becomes more effective and interesting.

Abstract

This study explores the innovative leadership practices of Islamic senior high school (known as Madrasah Aliyah) principals in Pidie Regency, Aceh, aimed at enhancing educational quality. It addresses the research gap regarding innovative leadership in madrasahs, particularly in Aceh—a post-conflict region with strong cultural and religious values. The study draws on Transformational Leadership and Adaptive Leadership theories to frame its analysis. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected from 32 informants, including principals, teachers, students, and school committee members, from eight purposively selected State Madrasah Aliyahs. Data collection methods included direct observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings identify five key components of innovative leadership: strategic vision, stakeholder orientation, collaboration, trust-building, and open communication. Practical strategies, such as technology-based learning and community engagement, were implemented to address challenges in student performance while preserving cultural and religious identity. These results underscore the pivotal role of innovative leadership in balancing tradition and modernity, offering actionable recommendations for principals and policymakers to develop adaptive leadership strategies in similar educational contexts. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi perilaku kepemimpinan inovatif kepala Madrasah Aliyah di Kabupaten Pidie, Aceh, dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Studi ini mengisi kesenjangan penelitian terkait terbatasnya kajian tentang kepemimpinan inovatif di madrasah, khususnya dalam konteks Aceh sebagai wilayah pasca-konflik dengan nilai budaya dan agama yang kuat. Dengan menggunakan teori Transformational Leadership dan Adaptive Leadership, penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, penelitian ini melibatkan 32 informan dari delapan Madrasah Aliyah Negeri yang dipilih secara purposive. Informan terdiri atas kepala madrasah, guru, siswa, dan anggota komite sekolah. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi lima aspek utama kepemimpinan inovatif: visi strategis, orientasi pada pemangku kepentingan, kolaborasi, pembangunan kepercayaan, dan komunikasi terbuka. Strategi praktis seperti pembelajaran berbasis teknologi serta keterlibatan komunitas diterapkan untuk mengatasi tantangan rendahnya hasil belajar sambil mempertahankan identitas budaya dan religius. Hasil ini menegaskan pentingnya kepemimpinan inovatif dalam menyeimbangkan tradisi dan modernitas, sekaligus menawarkan rekomendasi strategis bagi kepala madrasah dan pembuat kebijakan untuk mengembangkan kepemimpinan adaptif dalam konteks pendidikan serupa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in improving the ability to read the Qur'an at MA Darut Tahfidz Ajun, where PAI teachers function as educators as well as role models for students in the context of education that emphasizes the importance of mastering the Qur'an. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that PAI teachers implemented various strategies, such as self-reward, personal approach, implementation of tadarus before learning, and periodic evaluation to help students in reading the Qur'an. In addition, support from a conducive learning environment and parental involvement also contributed significantly to the development of students' abilities. This study recommends the need for continuous training for PAI teachers as well as the development of innovative teaching methods to further improve the quality of Qur'anic learning in these educational institutions. With various efforts made by teachers, students' Qur'an reading ability can be improved significantly.

Abstract

Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu (SDIT) pada dasarnya merupakan sekolah berbasis Islam yang berkomitmen dalam menerapkan parenting dan keterlibatan orangtua sebagai salah satu program utama penentu keberhasilan pendidikan anak, karena sistem sekolah terpadu artinya sekolah dan orangtua bekerjasama dan terpadu dalam hal mendidik anak. Namun demikian masih ditemukan sejumlah SDIT yang belum menerapkan program parenting sejak awal didirikannya dan hal ini tentu saja bertentangan dengan makna dan sistem sekolah terpadu itu sendiri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) perencanaan; (2) pelaksanaan; (3) monitoring dan evaluasi; serta (4) tantangan dan kendala implementasi parenting di SDIT Kota Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada SDIT Nurul Islah Banda Aceh dan SDIT Bayyinah Tahfizhul Qur’ani Banda Aceh menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif melalui proses observasi, wawancara, dan telaah dokumentasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa impelementasi parenting di SDIT Kota Banda Aceh: (1) Perencanaan parenting belum melibatkan orangtua secara komprehensif, belum memiliki panduan baku, dan kegiatan perencanaan pada setiap rapat kerja awal tahun ajaran baru dan tinjauan perencanaan pada awal semester berikutnya sekaligus rapat evaluasi pelaksanaan program parenting yang terkendala, dan hal terkait lainnya. Aspek-aspek yang ditetapkan dalam perencanaan meliputi penetapan: waktu, tempat, materi dan pemateri, serta media yang dibutuhkan dalam pelaksanaan parenting; (2) Pelaksanaan dikategorikan menjadi 3 program, yaitu: (a) program tahunan; dilakukan dua kali per tahun berupa: pertemuan di awal tahun ajaran baru dan setiap akhir semester dalam bentuk: sharing class dan seminar/workshop terkait parenting, dll; (b) program mingguan; setiap akhir pekan, berupa kegiatan: tahsin quran, kajian keislaman, buku penghubung, dll; serta (c) program parenting insidental; khusus bagi anak yang membutuhkan bantuan orangtua wali dalam penyelesaian masalah dan konsultasi tentang anak dengan waktu yang tentatif; (3) Monitoring dan evaluasi dilakukan setiap akhir semester atau per dua bulan sekali, sekaligus dilakukan monitoring efektifitas program dan analisis kendala dan kekurangan program yang dihadapi untuk selanjutnya didiskusikan dan dievaluasi di akhir semester pada saat rapat evaluasi sekolah guna memudahkan adanya tindak lanjut keberhasilan parenting Islam di masa mendatang; serta (4) Tantangan dan kendala implementasi parenting di SDIT Kota Banda Aceh, terdiri dari 2 (dua) faktor, yaitu: (a) Faktor internal, terdiri dari: (1) belum adanya kurikulum dan panduan baku, (b) fasilitas dan prasarana sekolah untuk beberapa kegiatan yang belum memadai, dan (3) belum maksimalnya pelibatan orangtua dalam perencanaan pelaksanaan kegiatan parenting di sekolah, dll; dan (b) Faktor eksternal, meliputi: (1) keterbatasan waktu orangtua karena kesibukan bekerja dan/atau menjaga anak balita, (2) kurangnya kesadaran sebagian kecil orangtua akan pentingnya parenting, dan (3) kurangnya peran serta para ayah secara kontinu dalam kegiatan parenting dengan alasan yang sama, yaitu sibuk bekerja; sehingga yang umumnya lebih berperan adalah para ibu.Kata Kunci: Implementasi Parenting Islam, Anak Usia Pendidikan Dasar, Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Integrated Islamic Primary Schools (SDIT) are basically Islamic-based schools that are committed to implementing parenting and parental involvement as one of the main programs that determine the success of children's education, because an integrated school system means that schools and parents work together and are integrated in terms of educating children. However, there are still a number of SDITs that have not implemented parenting programs since their inception and this is of course contrary to the meaning and system of the integrated school itself. The aim of this research is to find out: (1) planning; (2) implementation; (3) monitoring and evaluation; and (4) challenges and obstacles to implementing parenting at SDIT Banda Aceh City. This research was conducted at SDIT Nurul Islah Banda Aceh and SDIT Bayyinah Tahfizhul Qur'ani Banda Aceh with conducted by qualitative research methods in the the process of observation, interviews and documentations review. As the results of the analysis showing the four outcome in  the implementation of parenting at SDIT Banda Aceh City; (1) Parenting planning does not involve parents comprehensively, does not have standard guidelines, and planning activities at each work meeting at the beginning of the new school year and planning reviews at the beginning of the next semester as well as implementation evaluation meetings hampered parenting programs, and other related matters. Aspects determined in the planning including the determining: time, place, materials and presenters, as well as the media needed for implementing parenting; (2) Implementation is categorized into 3 programs, namely: (a) Annual program; held twice per year in the form of: meetings at the beginning of the new academic year and at the end of each semester in the form of: sharing classes and seminars/workshops related to parenting, etc.; (b) the weekly program; every weekend, in the form of activities: tahsin quran, Islamic studies, connecting books, etc.; and (c) incidental parenting programs; especially for children who need help from guardians in solving problems and consulting about children at a tentative time; (3) Monitoring and evaluation is carried out at the end of each semester or once every two months, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of the program and analyzing the obstacles and shortcomings of the program faced for further discussion and evaluation at the end of the semester during the school evaluation meeting to facilitate follow-up on the success of Islamic parenting. in the future; and (4) Challenges and obstacles to implementing parenting at SDIT Banda Aceh City, consisting of 2 (two) factors, namely: (a) Internal factors, consisting of: (1) Lack of standard curriculum and guidelines, (b) the facilities and infrastructure schools for several activities that are not adequate, and (3) less of maximum involvement of parents in planning the implementation of parenting activities at school, etc.; and (b) the external factors, including: (1) parents' limited time due to busy work and/or looking after toddlers, (2) a small number of parents' lack of awareness of the importance of parenting, and (3) lack of continuous participation of fathers in activities. parenting for the same reason, namely being busy at work; therefore the ones who  generally play a bigger role in this section are the mothers.Keywords: Implementation of Islamic Parenting, Primary Education Age Children, Islamic Integrated Primary Schools

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning time allocation in Merdeka Curriculum at SDN Neusok Teubalui. Using a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation methods, this study found that the allocation of 3 hours of PAI intracurricular time per week is running well. However, co-curricular learning (1 hour for the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project or P5) is considered less effective. Time constraints, lack of collaboration between PAI teachers and class teachers, and the often neglected time allocation for P5 are the main obstacles. Some teachers only utilize co-curricular hours for reading, without integrating relevant themes. To overcome this problem, it is suggested that there should be better coordination in the implementation of P5, including the appointment of activity coordinators based on the learning phase. This study underlines the importance of optimizing learning time and collaboration between educators to improve the effectiveness of PAI learning in shaping students' character in accordance with the values of Pancasila.

Abstract

Paul Karl Feyerabend has an idea called Epistemological Anarchism, which is a method used to criticize the establishment of knowledge with the aim of developing science itself. Academic freedom is one of the attitudes to develop knowledge while prioritizing objectivity. This research will discuss the implications of Feyerabend's thinking on developing knowledge and science in Islam. This research uses a library research approach with the method of collecting library data related to the research topic. The study results show that Feyerabend's concept of epistemological anarchism holds that there are no methodological rules in the development of knowledge and science. Feyerabend, finding a truth does not have to be through unnecessary falsification, but a truth can be found through new theories that have practical benefits. Epistemological anarchism has relevance to the epistemology of science development in Islam, namely as a way or steps to obtain educational knowledge based on Islamic fundamentals.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas kebijakan dan implementasi integrasi ilmu agama dan ilmu umum di UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, sebagai langkah untuk mengatasi dikotomi ilmu pengetahuan yang sering kali memisahkan ranah spiritual dan intelektual dalam pendidikan tinggi Islam. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini mengkaji kebijakan resmi universitas, struktur kurikulum, serta praktik pengajaran yang diterapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa UIN Ar-Raniry memiliki kebijakan yang secara eksplisit menekankan pentingnya penggabungan nilai-nilai Islam dengan keilmuan modern, yang tercermin dalam visi dan misi institusi, serta didukung oleh kurikulum interdisipliner pada berbagai program studi. Implementasi integrasi ini diwujudkan melalui mata kuliah yang mengombinasikan perspektif Islam dan ilmu umum. Kebijakan ini menunjukkan komitmen yang kuat dalam membentuk lulusan yang memiliki pemahaman holistik dan mampu menghadapi tantangan kontemporer dengan landasan nilai-nilai Islam

Abstract

Dayah is a designation for the traditional Islamic boarding school in Aceh, an institution that plays a crucial role in education, knowledge dissemination, and shaping religious identity in Aceh society. To produce well-rounded graduates, Dayahs must stay abreast of modern developments and cultivate a dynamic, inclusive academic culture. However, Dayahs have struggled to demonstrate such openness, leading to challenges to their relevance. This research employed qualitative methods to investigate the academic culture within the Dayah education system in Aceh, re-evaluate factors influencing its development, and outline future growth prospects. The study focused on three Dayahs: Ruhul Islam, Ruhul Falah, and Darul Maghfirah. The findings revealed that the academic culture in these institutions has been declining due to several factors: reliance on a traditional curriculum and teacher-centered instruction, generational transmission of outdated practices, and lack of contemporary organizational structure. These issues hinder learning, stifling the freedom to voice opinions, knowledge acquisition, and effective management. To improve the academic culture in Dayah, it is recommended to enhance engagement and communication with all stakeholders, implement a structured development plan, and improve the quality of human resources. By addressing these areas, Dayahs can foster a more dynamic and inclusive academic environment.
