Abstract

The advancement of technology in line with the demands of 21st-century learning presents a new perspective. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking skills. According to the findings from this study, students exhibit low critical thinking abilities, and learning remains teacher-centered. To address this issue, the solution proposed is the creation of interactive multimedia. The research aims to produce, validate, and assess the practicality of this interactive multimedia. The design of the interactive multimedia follows the Dick & Carey learning design model. Based on the research results, an interactive multimedia resource was developed featuring six syntax elements of discovery learning, aimed at enhancing students' critical thinking skills related to the topic of parabolic motion, created using Google Sites. The validation results indicated a very high validity, with a Cohen's kappa value of 0.80, categorized as valid. Additionally, the practicality test results demonstrated a value of 0.83, indicating that the multimedia is very practical. Thus, it can be concluded that the interactive multimedia based on discovery learning, supported by Google Sites, for the material on parabolic motion, is valid and practical for improving high school students' critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

The process of making cement goes through quite long stages, one of the processes is grinding at the Raw Mill. Raw Mill is divided into two large groups, Horizontal Mill and Vertical Mill, in Horizontal Factory. The milling result at the Horizontal Mill is Raw Mix 2 and quality testing will be carried out. In quality testing, testing is usually carried out on chemical parameters and there is no testing based on physical parameters. By looking for the magnetic susceptibility score of raw cement samples in Raw Mix 2 using the Bartington Magnetic Susceptibility Meter Type B sensor, you can see the consistency of magnetic minerals in raw cement in Raw Mix 2. Samples were taken from the Padang Semen Factory every hour of every day from February 1 to February 10, 2022, the samples were then measured using the Bartington Magnetic Susceptibility Meter Type B Sensor. The measurement results showed that the magnetic susceptibility value of Raw Mix 2 ranged from 79.8 x/kg to 206.9 x/kg, and standard deviation calculations were used. The data is interpreted into a graph and it shown that the magnetic susceptibility value of Raw Mix 2 obtained can be said to be consistent and of good quality. The magnetic properties of Raw Mix 2 obtained according on the magnetic susceptibility score obtained are antiferromagnetic. The grain type in Raw Mix 2 was found to have almost no superparamagnetic grains or contained less than 10% superparamagnetic grains.

Abstract

Abstract

This research is experimental research which aims to see whether there are differences in students' collaboration skills taught using the STAD and Jigsaw learning models. The type of research used in this study was quasi-experimental and non-equivalent control group research design. The population in this study were students of class X MAN 2 Padang City. This research instrument is a collaboration skills assessment sheet. While the data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis technique, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing with a significance value of 0.05. According to the results of research data analysis it is known that the average value of collaboration skills in the STAD class is 81.69 higher than that in the Jigsaw class 78.97. Meanwhile, based on the results of testing the hypothesis obtained tcount = 3.487 and ttable = 1.994. In this study tcount is greater than ttable (3.487 > 1.994). Based on this, therefore H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, which means that there are differences in the improvement of students' collaboration skills taught by the STAD and Jigsaw learning models.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to combine, analyze, and conclude previous studies in order to obtain accurate results regarding the effect of integrated teaching materials using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' problem solving abilities in terms of the types of teaching materials, grade levels, and subject matter. The research method used is meta-analysis by reviewing 28 articles from national and international journals. The research results obtained included: overall the mean effect size of the PBL model integrated teaching materials on students' problem solving abilities was 0.858 which was in the high category. In terms of Teaching Materials, the largest mean effect size is 2.372 with the high category belonging to the E-module. Based on the class level, the largest mean effect size is owned by class XI, which is 0.990, which is in the high category. Based on the material unit, rotational dynamics has the largest mean effect size value of 2.522 which is included in the high category. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that in general teaching materials that are integrated with the PBL model can improve students' problem-solving abilities in learning physics. If viewed from the moderator variable, it can be concluded: First, the most effective teaching material is the e-module. Secondly, it is most effectively applied to class XI. Third, it is most effectively applied to rotational dynamics material

Abstract

This research is a meta-analysis to see the influence of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in learning science and physics on students' critical and creative thinking skills. The method used is meta-analysis with a population and research sample, namely scientific articles that have been published through Google Scholar on a national to international scale in 2016–2023, that discuss the application and influence of the PjBL model in learning science and physics on students’ critical and creative thinking skills. Overall, the results of the research show that the application of the PjBL model in learning science and physics has an influence in the high category, both on students' critical and creative thinking skills. In the school-level category, the implementation of the PjBL model had the highest effect on students' critical thinking skills at university levels. Whereas in terms of creative thinking skills, the implementation of PjBL has the highest influence at the elementary school levels. In the subject category, the application of the PjBL model has a high effect on both critical thinking skills and creative thinking when applied to science and physics subjects.
