Abstract

The use of the lecture method causes low participation, student progress, student attention, and interest cannot be monitored. The inactivity of students during the learning process is one of the factors that can cause students to difficult to understand the concept of material. If this happens it can result in less than optimal learning outcomes obtained. The type of research used is True-experimental Design with Pretest-Posttest control group Design type. The independent variable in this study is the PQ4R model with a scientific approach. While the dependent variable is learning outcomes. The population in this study were students of class VIII. The sample of this research is a class of 25 students. Determination of the sample using a cluster type random sampling technique. Data collection instruments include lesson plans, observation sheets of student activities, observation widths of teacher activities, pre-test, and post-test learning outcomes. The data analysis technique used an independent sample t-test which was previously tested by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method with the help of SPSS for windows version 17.0. The results showed: (1) The teacher can carry out PBM activities well and in accordance with the learning plan in accordance with the syntax. (2) Student activities are in accordance with what is expected from the frequency of the many activities that illustrate PBM with the PQ4R strategy with a scientific approach. Abstract

The ability to reflect on yourself or think metacognition is very important for students. Because with this ability students can learn to analyze their mistakes or weaknesses to be corrected and developed in the future. During the pandemic, lectures were carried out online, this resulted in a tendency for students to not seriously attend lectures. The absence of direct supervision from lecturers is one of the reasons this can happen. Thus, researchers assume that the level of metacognition of students who carry out lectures online will also decrease. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the level of student metacognition during online lectures that have been implemented. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive research approach with a survey method. The research subjects were 120 students who had attended online courses at least 8 meetings or 2 months. The results showed that 83 students were at the lowest level of metacognition (Tacit Use). Meanwhile, students who are at the highest metacognition level are 2 students (Reflective Use). Thus, researchers can conclude that the level of student metacognition during online lectures is still very low.

Abstract

The instrument for measuring knowledge in the subject of Elementary School Curriculum Study and Development has been created to measure students' understanding of teacher candidates in applying concepts, implications and curriculum development at the elementary school level. In order to make reliable and feasible instrument for measuring students knowledge in the subject of Elementary School Curriculum Study and Development, this study aims to produce empirical evidence about the validity and reliability of test instruments using the Rasch model analysis. The study was conducted by testing 20 items on 142 elementary school teacher candidate at one of the State Universities in the City of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara. The validity and reliability of the instrument were measured by the Rasch analysis model using the Winstep program. The one-dimensional testing of 20 items has a variance measured at 42.7% which exceeds the minimum points of 40.0% desired by the Rasch model. The reliability index of the respondents was 0.65 and the item reliability index was 0.98. All items show a positive value for Point Measure Correlation (PMC) in terms of item polarity which means there is no conflict between the item and the construct being measured. Outfit Mean Square value also shows that all items that almost all items have an MNSQ Outfit value smaller than 1.5 which means the measurement value can be said to be productive except for item 13 (3.77) and item 16 (3.77). Both of these items need to be re-examined because they have problems in measuring their validity. The results of this study have proven that the knowledge measurement test instrument in the Elementary School Curriculum Study and Development course has validity and reliability values that meet and are empirically feasible to be used in measuring Basic School Curriculum Study and Development knowledge for prospective teacher students.
