MA NU 01 Limpung, which is a science and skills-based madrasah, has two superior programs, namely life skills and volleyball extracurriculars which can improve the quality and competitiveness of the madrasah. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The sampling technique used is a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation studies. Next, the data is analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and verification or drawing conclusions. Test the validity of the data using the data triangulation method. The research results prove that MA NU 01 Limpung is synonymous with its life skills program and is an attraction for prospective new students. Meanwhile, extracurricular volleyball has resulted in championship achievements in every volleyball competition. Abstract

This study investigates the influence of school leadership and academic supervision on teachers’ professional competence in public high schools in Batang District, Central Java. Using a quantitative approach with survey methods and linear regression analysis, the research involved 85 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. The findings reveal that school leadership significantly affects teachers’ professional competence (Sig. = 0.000; effect size = 71.4%), as does academic supervision (Sig. = 0.000; effect size = 64.7%). Combined, both variables also exert a significant influence (Sig. = 0.000; effect size = 66.2%). These results underscore the importance of effective leadership particularly in fostering innovation—and robust academic supervision, especially in evaluation and follow-up, in enhancing professional competence. The study recommends that school leaders strengthen these areas and collaborate with teachers to support professional growth. Teachers are also encouraged to deepen subject mastery and adopt more effective teaching strategies to improve instructional quality and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of “instructional leadership, learning community, and teacher efficacy” on “learning quality’ in Madrasah Aliyah Swasta in Batang Regency. Utilizing a survey method, this study adopted a quantitative approach. All private Islamic senior high school (Aliyah Madrasah) teachers in Batang Regency formed the population for this research. From this population, a sample of 137 individuals was chosen using simple random sampling. A validated and reliable Likert scale questionnaire served as the data collection instrument. Then the data were analyzed by utilizing linear regression analysis. The results of data analysis show that partially and simultaneously, instructional leadership, learning community, and teacher efficacy have a positive and significant effect on learning quality. Instructional leadership applied by madrasah principals is able to encourage teachers to improve learning quality. An active learning community plays a role in strengthening collaboration and developing teacher professionalism. Meanwhile, high teacher efficacy contributes to the implementation of more effective and innovative learning. Thus, improving the quality of learning in Private Aliyah Madrasahs needs to be done through strengthening instructional leadership, fostering a dynamic learning community, and increasing teacher efficacy on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of the school principal as an academic supervisor in enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competence at SD Negeri 1 Pamotan, Rembang. Pedagogical competence, as mandated by Law No. 14 of 2005 on Teachers and Lecturers, is a critical component in managing the learning process and fostering meaningful classroom experiences. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews with key school stakeholders, classroom observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis was used to explore the principal’s supervisory practices and their influence on teacher development. The findings reveal that the principal implemented a structured and collaborative supervision process, encompassing planning, implementation, follow-up, and evaluation stages. However, the integration of educational technology and innovative teaching strategies was found to be limited, thereby reducing the overall effectiveness of the supervision in improving student learning outcomes. This study contributes to the existing body of literature by underscoring the strategic role of principals in strengthening pedagogical competence through academic supervision that embraces technology and innovation. It also highlights the importance of ongoing professional development and systematic feedback in enhancing teacher quality and instructional effectiveness.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of teachers’ pedagogical competence on learning quality in public junior high schools (SMP Negeri) in Rembang Subdistrict. The 2024 Education Report Card reported an average learning quality score (68.14) below the tuntas madya threshold (80.42), indicating the need for competency improvement. Employing a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 145 teachers in six schools through proportional random sampling. A validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire (Cronbach’s Alpha > 0.90) measured both variables. Data analysis using simple linear regression showed that pedagogical competence significantly and positively affects learning quality (β = 1.520, p = 0.013), explaining 42.0% of its variance (R² = 0.420). Teachers with high pedagogical competence marked by adaptive planning, effective strategies, and accurate assessment achieved better learning outcomes. The study highlights pedagogical competence as a key determinant of learning quality and recommends broader research with additional variables such as technology integration and school climate.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of School-Based Quality Management (SBQM) at SD Negeri Gunungpati 03, Semarang City, as a strategy to enhance the quality of primary education in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation, and were analysed using the Miles and Huberman model with triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal that SBQM at the school level fosters participatory planning, localized curriculum development, continuous teacher professional development, transparent resource management, and increased community engagement. These efforts have contributed to improved learning outcomes, strengthened teacher competencies, and a more inclusive learning environment. However, significant challenges remain, particularly related to limited financial resources and inadequate technological infrastructure. Strong leadership, stakeholder involvement, and adaptive strategies have proven crucial in overcoming these barriers. The study offers practical insights for educational policymakers and school leaders seeking to implement effective, context-sensitive quality management in similar educational settings.
