Abstract

This study aims to determine the perspective of Bajo fishermen on children's formal education, to describe the living conditions of Bajo Tribal fishermen and the factors that influence formal education for their children. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects in this study were the Bajo Tribe fishing community and the Bajo Tribe customary leader. Data collection techniques carried out by observation, interviews, literature review and research documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Bajo tribe has fairly adequate living conditions. In addition, the livelihood of the Bajo tribe still expects a large portion of their income from marine products. The Bajo are a minority ethnic group and are closed to other tribes. The life of the Bajo tribe which had always been difficult resulted in many of their children dropping out of school. Besides they also have to help their parents at sea. So that disrupt their learning activities and even cause them to drop out of school. In terms of motivating their children to go to school, only a small portion of Bajo fishermen pay attention to their children for school. Economically and the ability of the Bajo to finance their children to go to school is still quite low. It is not education that is their main goal but how to support their families.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution of sediments basedon the type of grain and sorting values in the waters of the island DutunganBarru. Seabed sediment sampling was also carried out by using a bottomgrab samples were performed at each station. Note the position and timepengamatan.Sampel drawn on the bottom sediment grab samples insertedinto the sediment sample bag and labeled. Laboratory analysis to determinethe type, grain size / diameter of the bottom waters. Field data collectionactivities carried out at 12 sampling points, but there are two points that didnot work because the bottom waters sampled in the form of hard coral, making it very difficult for the presence of basic sediment samples waters. The results showed that the characteristics of the sediment on the islandconsists of silt Dutungan greatest on Observation Station 4 with a value of0.09 grams sorting medium, very fine sand to the largest measurementstation 8 at 8.20 grams with sorting pretty good value, fine sand onmeasurement station 9 at 56.02 grams with sorting value ugly, sand is beinggreatest at Observation Station 1 at 58.28 grams with sorting pretty goodvalue, most large coarse sand on Observation Station 5 at 54.11 grams witha very good value, very coarse sand greatest at 8 Observation Station at21.84 grams with sorting pretty good value, and most large gravel onObservation Station 7 of 63.5 grams with moderate sorting value. On theMeasurement Station 1 is dominated by sand sediment medium (0.25 to 0.85mm) although containing fine sand (0.15 to 0.25 mm) and silt (<0.15 mm)higher than the measurement station other. This is due to its location furtheraway from the beach and sheltered from the effects of ocean waves and thenumber of organic matter and detritus that brought water to accumulate inthe waters of this river, especially at lower currents.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Google Classroom application in learning geography for class X students of SMA Negeri 14 Makassar referring to learning outcomes. This is a pre-experimental study involving one experimental group, namely class X MIPA 5 using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using learning outcomes tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is statistical analysis technique and product moment correlation. The results of the study stated that the use of Google Classroom on the geography learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 14 Makassar was not effective. The relationship between the two variables was tested for significant correlation coefficient with t test obtained tcount (2,386) > ttable (2,045), so that H0 was accepted with a contribution of 16.4025%. There are inhibiting factors, namely: constrained internet access and supporting factors, namely the application of Google Classroom and student motivation.
