Abstract

The use of TikTok as a short-video social media platform has transformed the way Generation Z builds social interaction and relationships. This study aims to identify changes in communication practices and social relations among Generation Z resulting from the use of TikTok. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design focusing on the Generation Z community in Kelurahan Kota Matsum, Sumatera Utara. Informants were selected using purposive sampling with the criteria of Generation Z individuals who actively use TikTok, with a total of six informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and non-participant observation. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings reveal that the use of TikTok encourages changes in communication practices from face-to-face communication toward digital interaction characterized by visual, brief, and symbolic forms. Social relationships among Generation Z tend to become more flexible and fluid, and are no longer entirely dependent on physical proximity. Social relations are interpreted as digitally mediated connections influenced by self-representation and audience responses. In addition, TikTok’s algorithm plays a role in shaping social connectivity through content visibility mechanisms. These findings indicate that TikTok functions as a digital social space as well as a primary medium in the transformation of Generation Z communication practices from face-to-face interaction to digital interaction. The study implies that the dominance of digital interaction reshapes the quality of social relations and social cohesion among Generation Z at the local community level, highlighting the need for adaptive communication strategies to maintain a balance between digital interaction and face-to-face communication.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Employee Income Supplement (TPP) on the performance of BPKAD employees of Dompu Regency. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive. The Sample Technique uses a saturated sample of 52 employees or the entire population is used as a sample. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a likert scale. Data analysis used Simple Linear Regression, determination coefficient test and t test with the help of SPSS version 24. Based on the results of the study, it is shown that the free variable (X), namely additional employee income, has a positive and significant influence on the bound variable (Y), namely Performance. This is shown through a simple linear regression equation, namely: Y = 18.937 + 0.502X. The correlation value (r) is 0.627 in a positive direction. The coefficient value of the determination (r2/R Square) is 0.394 or 39.4%. The variation in performance of 39.4% can be explained by the variation in the provision of additional employee income. The value of the t-test (significance test) is 5.697 with a significance of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that the Additional Employee Income (TPP) has a significant influence on the performance of BPKAD employees of Dompu Regency

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memperkuat strategi pengembangan pariwisata desa melalui pemanfaatan teknologi Augmented Reality (AR) berbasis budaya Melayu di kawasan wisata pantai Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai. Program dilaksanakan bersama komunitas pemuda Telangkai melalui pengembangan infrastruktur pariwisata digital berupa video visual 3D yang menampilkan ekspresi artistik Melayu sebagai identitas budaya lokal. Pemanfaatan teknologi AR menjadi strategi inovatif dalam mendukung pembangunan desa wisata yang adaptif terhadap transformasi digital dan berorientasi pada pariwisata berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini didukung teori sustainable tourism dan new media theory yang menekankan pelestarian budaya serta pemanfaatan media digital interaktif dalam meningkatkan pengalaman wisatawan. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui observasi, pemetaan potensi budaya, perancangan visual artistik, produksi konten AR, dan implementasi media digital. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara, dokumentasi visual, dan studi literatur. Program ini diharapkan mampu memperkuat citra desa wisata kreatif berbasis budaya dan teknologi.

Abstract

This study examines the process of religious integration between the Sikh and Hindu communities in Medan within the context of differing religious recognition statuses in Indonesia. Both communities are part of the Indian diaspora and share close ethnic, cultural, and migratory backgrounds; however, they occupy different positions within the state's religious recognition system, where Hinduism is officially recognized while Sikhism has not received formal recognition. This places the Sikh community between two identities: maintaining their Sikh religious identity while navigating administrative systems that favor officially recognized religions. A qualitative approach was employed through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that religious integration is shaped by shared ethnic and cultural backgrounds, kinship ties, and social interactions across various communal and religious activities, where differences in recognition status influence integration patterns, while religious practices continue to preserve Sikh identity through traditions, worship, and the gurdwara as the center of religious activity. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture and leadership on work discipline in employees of the Woja District Office, both partially and simultaneously. Using a saturated sample, all employees in the agency were directly involved as respondents as many as 45 respondents. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that partially, organizational culture had a positive and significant effect on employee work discipline, while leadership did not have a significant influence independently. However, simultaneous testing proves that organizational culture and leadership together have a positive and significant influence on shaping employee work discipline. These findings indicate that although personal leadership style is not the primary determinant of discipline that has been bound by bureaucratic regulations, the synergy between internalizing strong work culture values and leadership support remains an important combination for an orderly work ecosystem. This research provides practical implications for government organizations in strengthening work culture, increasing leadership effectiveness, and creating a work environment that is able to encourage employee compliance, responsibility, and productivity in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif deskriptif ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penentuan harga pokok produksi (HPP) dan harga jual kompetitif kue tar menggunakan metode Full Costing pada Toko Kue Hum’aisyah Cake di Kabupaten Dompu, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Data primer diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara langsung, sedangkan data sekunder bersumber dari laporan keuangan usaha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Full Costing menghasilkan perhitungan HPP yang lebih akurat dibandingkan metode sederhana yang diterapkan perusahaan selama ini. Total biaya produksi dengan metode sederhana tercatat sebesar Rp55.100.250 (Rp185.000/unit), sedangkan metode Full Costing menghasilkan Rp57.395.250 (Rp195.000/unit). Terdapat selisih sebesar Rp2.295.000 secara total atau Rp10.000 per unit. Selisih ini terjadi karena metode sederhana milik perusahaan belum memperhitungkan seluruh unsur biaya produksi, khususnya biaya overhead pabrik secara rinci.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the principal's leadership style on the performance of teachers and educational staff at SDN 1 Dompu. This study uses a quantitative approach with explanatory research and a causal-comparative method. The sample was taken saturately, involving all 48 teachers and educational staff, with 40 questionnaires suitable for analysis. Primary data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS) through SmartPLS 4.0. The results of the study indicate that the principal's leadership style has a positive effect on the performance of teachers and educational staff. Principals who combine authoritarian and democratic styles in a balanced manner are able to create a disciplined, participatory, and productive work environment. This study suggests the need to develop principals' leadership competencies to improve educational quality and recommends further studies with a broader scope to strengthen the generalization of the findings.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) technology and Learning Management System (LMS) on improving the skills of vocational high school students majoring in hospitality and culinary arts. Qualitative findings show time efficiency, technical challenges, and training needs. This study recommends the integration of WebXR-based AR to overcome the limitations of device specifications in vocational high schools. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of AR and LMS in improving practical skills and learning management in vocational high schools. Method: Mixed-method research with quasi-experimental (30 hospitality students, 30 culinary students) and LMS analysis using log activity data from Moodle. Results: AR improves the understanding of housekeeping practices by 28% (paired sample t-test, p<0.05), while LMS reduces teacher administration time by 40%. Conclusion: AR-LMS integration has the potential to be a cost-effective solution for vocational high schools.

Abstract

Abstraksi Teknologi komunikasi dan media baru saat ini membawa dampak ke dalam kehidupan manusia saat ini. Salah satu perkembangannya adalah adanya media sosial yang awalnya digunakan oleh setiap orang untuk melakukan interaksi kapan saja, dimana saja, dan tanpa batas. Pengaruh dari penggunaan media sosial saat ini berakibat bagaimana manusia menjadi ketergantungan dan sulit untuk melepaskan diri. Pengaruh media sosial saat ini selain sebagai alat interaksi adalah dapat mempengaruhi pola pikir dan/ atau melakukan asimilasi atau penyerapan budaya. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari zaman globalisasi yang memungkinkan setiap orang dibelahan dunia dapat berinteraksi satu sama lain. Adanya persebaran budaya pop culture atau trend saat ini bisa menjadi contoh karena adanya persebaran melalui teknologi komunikasi saat ini, yang salah satunya melalui media sosial. McLuhan seorang pakar komunikasi dengan teori komunikasinya, menyatakan bahwa manusia tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh “isi” dari media tetapi dapat dipengaruhi juga oleh media itu sendiri. Penggunaan media sosial saat ini membawa pengaruh bagaimana setiap orang tidak dapat lepas dari telepon genggam karena akses dan informasi yang ada di media sosial yang membuat orang untuk melepaskannya. Penelitian dimaksudkan bagaimana determinasi teknologi khususnya media sosial sebagai media baru berpengaruh terhadap masyarakat di Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need to communicate in the family with the negative impact of using gadgets on children. Therefore, this study aims to determine the extent of parental understanding of the appropriate use of gadgets in children, also to find out the obstacles experienced by parents, and to find out the efforts made by people to prevent the negative impact of using gadgets on children.This type of research is a qualitative research with a case study method, The research subjects are families, especially parents and also the object of the research is family communication to children to prevent the negative impact of using gadgets on children. The data collection methods used observation, in-depth interviews and documentation.. The results showed that family knowledge, especially parents, about family communication with children in preventing the negative impact of gadgets on children.
