Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the influence of taxpayer attitudes, awareness, and knowledge on land and building tax compliance, with urban village officer control as a moderating variable. Understanding these factors is crucial for enhancing tax compliance and optimizing local tax revenue collection. Research Design and Methodology: The research adopts a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) to analyze the relationships among variables. The study focuses on registered land and building taxpayers in Wajo District, Makassar, and examines the moderating role of urban village officer control. Data were gathered through structured questionnaires and analyzed using SmartPLS software to assess direct and moderating effects. Findings and Discussion: The results show that taxpayer attitudes, awareness, and knowledge positively and significantly affect tax compliance. Moreover, urban village officer control strengthens these relationships, increasing taxpayer adherence to regulations. These findings align with the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), which emphasizes the role of intention, attitude, and perceived control in shaping compliance behavior. Implications: The study contributes theoretically by extending tax compliance models to include regulatory control. Practically, it suggests that tax authorities should improve taxpayer education, service quality, and enforcement mechanisms. Strengthening urban village officer control as part of administrative enforcement can enhance compliance and optimize tax revenue collection.

Abstract

The study explores contemporary audit and assurance practices within emerging global regulatory frameworks, aiming to elucidate their evolution, challenges, and implications. The purpose is to analyze the impact of international accounting and auditing standards adoption, particularly IFRS and ISAs, on audit practices and regulatory landscapes. Employing a systematic literature review methodology, the research synthesizes existing scholarly works to uncover patterns and trends in audit practices. Findings indicate a significant shift towards convergence in audit practices across jurisdictions due to globalization and regulatory harmonization efforts. However, challenges persist, including variations in interpretation and application of standards, as well as the need for auditors to adapt to emerging risks and technologies. The discussion highlights the role of risk-based auditing methodologies in addressing contemporary business complexities and stakeholder expectations. Implications suggest the necessity for continuous adaptation and innovation in audit practices, leveraging technology, collaboration among stakeholders, and regulatory oversight to ensure audit quality and relevance.

Abstract

Butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea L.) is a medicinal plant known for its anthocyanin pigment content, which imparts a blue color to its flowers. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of shading on butterfly pea flower growth and production. The research design utilized a randomized complete block design (RCBD) for shading treatments. We replicated each treatment level four times, resulting in 20 experimental units, each containing four plants, for a total population of 80 plants. We conducted the experiment at the Experimental Garden of Gunadarma University Campus F7, implementing shade nets at different intensity levels (55%, 65%, 75%, and 85%), along with a control treatment without shading. We made observations on various plant growth parameters such as leaf count, plant length, days to first flower appearance, flower count, fresh weight, and dry weight. The results indicated that shading significantly influenced butterfly pea plants' growth. Plants without shading tended to exhibit better growth in several parameters, such as increased leaf count, higher plant length, and earlier days to first flower appearance. These findings underscore the importance of sunlight in supporting the growth and production of butterfly pea plants. Therefore, careful consideration of shade management is essential in agricultural practices to ensure optimal growth and maximum yield from butterfly pea plants.

Abstract

Climate change threatens the sustainability of coffee production in Indonesia. One of the causes of climate change is the reduction in carbon stocks. Coffee stands have a big role in maintaining carbon stocks. Carbon stocks are part of the global carbon cycle. This research aims to create a carbon stock distribution map on coffee fields in Gowa Regency. This research uses a spatial analysis method which is integrated with the results of soil analysis using the Walkey and Black method to determine the carbon content in the soil which produces a Carbon Stock Distribution Map in Gowa Regency. The research results explained that the highest carbon content was 2,85% in Tanete Village, Tombolopao District (TB2) with a production of 2 kg per tree. This is because the existence of coffee stands in these two regions is still maintained. The carbon content in Pattapang Village, Tinggi Moncong District (TM3) shows the lowest percentage of organic carbon content at 0,82% with a plant age of >10 years and a production of 0,5 kg per tree. Horticultural farming and the massive change in use of agricultural land into villas/settlements is one of the main causes. This also happened in Bungaya and Bonto Lempangan sub-districts. It is hoped that there will be guidelines for adaptation to climate change that include coffee insurance scheme strategies to balance climate risks, diversified multi-strata shelter management to manage seasonal rainfall variability and extreme temperatures, and institutional strengthening, namely community organizations to face increasing market risks related to the resilience of coffee production.

Abstract

Sexual violence against women continues to occur to this day, with the increasing cases of sexual violence against women becoming one of the topics frequently discussed and examined by society. Various efforts and studies have been conducted to address and reduce the number of sexual violence incidents against women. Sexual violence is increasingly alarming because it impacts the victims, making them feel threatened, humiliated, scared, ashamed, and so on. This research uses Normative Juridical research (normative legal research method) with a qualitative approach. Additionally, this research also employs a Legislative approach and a Comparative approach. The data collection technique is conducted through document/literature study, where the research objects are primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. All forms of sexual violence are subject to criminal penalties, and Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes has clearly regulated this issue. In Islamic law, the sanctions given are in the form of ta'zir punishment. Ta'zir punishment includes all penalties other than hudud and qisas, but the punishment may be more severe and encompass more than hudud and qisas. According to the Syafi'i School, the sanctions can include diyat (compensation) accompanied by mahar (mithil), as well the had zina for the perpetrator.
