Abstract

Socio-cultural changes from the existence of a tourism development affect the order in society. The study of socio-cultural changes can be seen from the changing forms of culture in the surrounding community. Socio-cultural changes that can be seen in terms of changes in mindset, behavior patterns, and of course changes in the form of physical objects. For this reason, this study aims to study the impact of the construction of the Mandalika Circuit on socio-cultural changes. The literature search in this study was based on the Google Scholar database, which produced 21 published articles from 2019-2022 using the keyword Mandalika Circuit Development. The Direct Knowledge database with the keywords social impact tourism in the 2018-2022 range of 10 articles. After going through the process of screening, quality assessment, data extraction, and adjustment to the inclusion criteria, 31 articles were obtained as reference articles that could be used in this study. The results of this study obtained various impacts of the construction of the Mandalika Circuit on socio-cultural changes in the form of changes in people™s mindsets and behavior patterns. The mindset and behavior of the community towards progress and its impact are in the eyes of the needs of a more heterogeneous community, the community feels proud of the construction of the Mandalika Circuit, and some of the impacts on the economic sector and MSMEs. In addition to the positive impacts, negative impacts are also inevitable, let alone the erosion of one™s own culture which is full of good values. In the future, the community will not be complacent and will not be displaced by migrants because they are less competitive due to the limited competence of both hard skills and soft skills in the tourism sector. Researchers in the field of special socio-cultural studies due to the construction of the Mandalika Circuit are still not significant.

Abstract

Currently, social media cannot be separated from the lives of Indonesian people due to the needs and developmental characteristics of its generation. Apart from that, social media is also very useful in improving people™s social and economic capabilities where they can gain income and wider knowledge. However, the massive use of social media has not been matched by an understanding of its ethics. This article was written with the aim of revealing how social media ethics are understood by Rina Hasanah Vocational School students. Through this research, it is hoped that it can contribute to overcoming social media ethical issues because understanding is an important component in forming behavior. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. These approaches and methods were chosen in order to be able to describe and describe the actual general state of students™ understanding and experience regarding ethics in social media. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used are reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verifying data. The rese™rch results show that the understanding of social media ethics at Rina Hasanah Vocational School can be said to be sufficient, but still needs to be improved where students rarely think about the ethics of an action before behaving on social media. They understand that social media must take positive and beneficial actions. However, they have not been able to understand and think about the impact if they take unethical actions on social media.

Abstract

This study aims to examine sociology teachers’ initiatives in implementing contextual and meaningful learning at the senior high school level. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through classroom observations and in-depth interviews with sociology teachers in Bandung and Cimahi. The findings reveal four key themes: differentiated instruction, inclusive classroom management, contextual transformation of sociological concepts, and creative use of media and methods. Teachers demonstrated sensitivity to students’ social backgrounds, interests, and learning stages, linking abstract theories to current social issues and real-life experiences. These practices fostered participatory learning, critical reflection, and deeper student engagement. The study underscores the essential role of teachers in creating inclusive and transformative learning spaces where sociology is not only taught but lived.

Abstract

Purpose – This study analyzes the influence of financial knowledge on students' investment intentions, with financial attitude as a mediating variable. In the context of the increasing importance of financial literacy among Generation Z, this research explores how financial education shapes the investment behavior of students enrolled in capital market courses at Widyatama University. Methodology/Approach – This study employs a survey of 200 undergraduate students taking capital market courses. The analysis is conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach to examine the relationships between financial knowledge, financial attitude, and investment intention. A 5-point Likert scale is used to measure the studied variables. Findings – The results indicate that financial knowledge significantly influences students' financial attitudes, which in turn positively impact their investment intentions. Mediation analysis confirms that financial attitude plays a key role in linking financial knowledge to investment intention. While financial knowledge directly affects investment decisions, students with a stronger financial attitude are more motivated to invest. Novelty/Value – This study provides deeper insights into the investment behavior of university students in Indonesia by highlighting the mediating role of financial attitude. The findings suggest that financial literacy programs should not only focus on increasing knowledge but also on fostering a positive financial attitude to encourage active participation in the capital market.

Abstract

A film called Night Butterfly produced by MD Pictures presents the realities of women's lives as commercial sex workers. The purpose of this study was to find out how women commercial sex workers were represented in the film Night Butterfly. This research uses Roland Barthles' semiotic analysis model using the approach of social exchange theory. The method used is the analysis of scenes that have symbols, meanings, and messages played by Laura's character in representing women commercial sex workers. The result of this study is to know the social reality of women from the side of sex workers as commodities in the gluttonous capitalist economic machine. In addition, the scenes from the film give a clear picture of the reality and the driving factors for a person to do the work, namely economic factors, so that the assumption is formed that marginalized groups are easier to portray and represent in the form of films, as well as women. Like Laura's character being further marginalized by focusing on sexuality.
