Abstract

This study aims to discuss the effectiveness of traumatic counseling for children victims of natural disasters as a strategy to have a positive psychological impact on children victims of natural disasters. Traumatic counseling has an important role in providing assistance to victims of natural disasters, especially for children. Traumatic counseling helps clients who have experienced such trauma. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach including, 1) compiling and managing research designs, 2) choosing research subjects, 3) collecting data and analyzing data, 4) presenting research data, and 5) research drawing conclusions. The results showed that traumatic counseling is needed for children affected by natural disasters so that there is no trauma effect for victims of natural disasters. This is because children are more prone to trauma because at a very young age they are more sensitive to imagine the events they experience.

Abstract

Journalistic language is the language journalists use in writing, presenting, and disseminating actual, factual, and reliable news and information to attract viewers' attention. There are 17 main characteristics of journalistic language, namely simple, short, concise, straightforward, clear, pure, interesting, democratic, populist, logical, grammatical, avoiding speech informal, avoiding foreign words and terms, choosing the right words (diction), prioritizing active sentences, avoiding technical words terms, and complyingwith ethical rules. This study uses a qualitative approach. Methods of data collection in this study use observation and document analysis. This study aims to determine the application of journalistic language to the information caption used by the @coppamagz account on Instagram. The theory used in this study is the Sumadiria theory (2016). The research results on the application of journalistic language in information captionson the @coppamagz account on Instagram, which was published on 24 February – 24 March 2023, show that it almost meets the characteristics of using journalistic language. But also found some errors in the application of journalistic language. Following are the results of the frequency of data obtained: (1) 8 simple aspects, (2) 8 short aspects, (3) 10 concise aspects, (4) 10 straightforward aspects, (5) 10 clear aspects, (6) 10 pure aspects,(7) 10 interesting aspects, (8) 10 democratic aspects, (9) 7 populist aspects, (10) 10 logical aspects, (11) 8 grammatical aspects, (12) aspects avoiding speech (informal) totaling 8, (13) aspects avoiding foreign words and terms totaling 4, (14) aspects choosing the right words (diction) totaling 10, (15) aspects prioritizing active sentences totaling 8, (16) aspects avoiding technical words or terms as many as 7, and (17) aspects of complying with ethical rules as many as 10.

Abstract

Changes that occur in social, economic, technological, and cultural arrangements along with times, require humans to be able to adapt to any changes that exist. Human development from generation to generation accompanied by modernization produces different characters from one generation to another. One of the most widely used generations today is the millennial generation which is considered very influential for society, especially in the field of education. The rapid use of technology in the world of education will be used in changing educational models, namely the growing distance and more choices of available learning resources such as e-books, and easy access to digital applications such as e-libraries, e-forums, e-journals. The purpose of this study is to find out how effective digital learning media is in increasing independence for Indonesian millennial students. This study uses a qualitative method by utilizing and a questionnaire. The results of the study show that digital learning media is quite effective in increasing learning independence for Indonesian millennial students.

Abstract

The current development of internet technology around the world is increasingly sophisticated, all levels of society can enjoy the benefits of this internet. The existence of social media has now become a primary need that cannot be separated from human life. The presence of increasingly diverse social media has become a place for young K-Pop fans to cyberbully on various applications, one of which is Twitter. The selection of topics in this article aims to find out the motives or reasons behind these young K-Pop fans carrying out acts of cyberbullying. In research on this topic, the author will use qualitative methods by collecting non-participatory observational data and in-depth interviews with two informants, whom the author has traced and indeed indicated to be perpetrators of cyberbullying on social media Twitter. The results of the study found that the motives of young KPOP fans to carry out cyberbullying on Twitter social media were due to the nature of fanaticism towards idols, feeling annoyed and angry when they saw posts/tweets that vilified idols, jealousy or envy of other idol fans, lack of understanding of ethics and norms -norms of behavior on social media, and feel satisfied and happy if they feel they have won the debate.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks third out of eight countries contributing 2/3 of TB (tuberculosis) cases in the world. DHF is a disease that spreads not from one human to another, but from the Aedes Aegypti mosquito. The role of cadres in empowering the infectious disease community is urgently needed as an intermediary for sources of information from medical personnel. Cadres are not only as Posyandu or Posbindu services but cadres can also help medical personnel to turn residents into healthy communities. The purpose of this study was to find out whether Posyandu Cadres and health workers in had carried out their duties to make the community a healthy society or not, and whether they had been optimal in dealing with infectious diseases and also how the cadres worked in handling infectious diseases. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, namely by interviewing one of the cadres in the village of Rt.06 Petir and also the second method, namely by observation. The cadres have worked according to their capacity and have done well, and maybe in the future it will be even better. The results of this research have implications for policy development and implementation of dengue fever eradication programs. Apart from that, finding cadres who have carried out their duties in accordance with their capacity and standard procedures can improve cooperative relations with other related cadres and institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to provide information related to news framing analysis on CNN Indonesia online media in the Bali earthquake. This framing analysis research uses the approach by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study are based on the use of four structures including 1) The syntactic structure in this news has a headline, 2) the script structure in this news shows that the main purpose of this news is to provide information about the natural earthquake disaster that occurred in Bali, 3) The theme emphasized in this news is about the M 4.8, 4) There are three rhetorical structures in the news, which are shearing, landslides, rock falls. It can be concluded that the syntactic aspect in the headline section is mentioning the Earthquake in Bali. The lead and background information contains information from BMKG. For the quotation section, there is only one source, namely Daryono. Then, CNN Indonesia online media does not write statements and opinions in the news. The script element in this media has reached perfection, where CNN has used the 5W + 1H elements in writing its news properly and correctly. The thematic element in CNN Indonesia media is explanatory coherence. Lastly, the rhetorical element in the media uses a choice of substitute words that are rarely known by the public

Abstract

The use of journalistic language cannot be separated from the journey of print media in everyday life. The meaning conveyed through arranged words can give birth to meaning. Understanding related to the implementation of journalistic language must be in accordance with the rules or guidelines of journalistic language, so that a journalist is required to master the rules of writing journalistic language. The purpose of this study is to determine the application and characteristics of journalistic language characteristics used by the news category of the Visi Nusantara online media organization, then to find out the impact of the news category for students who are active in organizations. The researcher conducted a document analysis on Visi Nusantara’s organizational category news as many as 18 news editions in 2022. The results show that the characteristics of journalistic language consist of simple, short, dense, straightforward, clear, clear, interesting, populist, logical, democratic, grammatical, avoiding speech, foreign words and terms, appropriate diction, prioritizing active sentences, avoiding technical words or terms, and submitting to ethical rules. The existence of this category of news has a positive impact on students because the news contained is packaged informatively, although there are some mistakes in the writing, it does not rule out the possibility of this news becoming a field of information and inspiration for students and people who play a role in the world of organizations. Abstract

One of the financing institutions in Indonesia in the form of BUMN is PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) or commonly abbreviated as PT PNM (Persero). PT PNM (Persero) was established by the Government on June 1, 1999 with the special task of empowering micro, small, medium enterprises and cooperatives (UMKMK). Increasingly growing and having carried out business transformation, in 2015 PT PNM (Persero) launched the product PNM Mekaar (Building a Prosperous Family Economy) which provides special services for underprivileged women who are ultra micro business actors, both those who want to start a business or develop a business. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method because most of the data used in this study came from interviews with research subjects in the form of sentences or narratives. The Mekaar Program or Fostering a Prosperous Family Economy is a program to help improve the welfare of Indonesian families, especially groups of underprivileged women. The approach is taken to customers or prospective customers by motivating them to want to do business by adhering to the principles of hard work, honesty, and discipline to achieve success and improve socio-economic status or welfare. The Mekaar program also emphasizes the importance of the group's role as a forum to promote harmony, kinship, and mutual cooperation. Mentoring and financing facilitation provided by Mekaar is also carried out using a group model. As a financing program, Mekaar targets women in the underprivileged category, who are required to form groups of 10-30 members. Loans are provided without collateral using the joint responsibility method, which means that if one member of the group is unable to pay the weekly installments, the payments are the responsibility of all group members.

Abstract

The learning media is evaluated in several aspects: the content, teaching methods, and preparation of the teaching and learning, as well as the effect on the student’s comprehension.This study aims to analyze the quality of the AR and VR content integration as PBT influences the students’ comprehension of reading. The mixed method was utilized in this study. Need analysis, situation analysis, and curriculum analysis were used to gather the preliminary data before assigning students of the Reading Course to conduct the project. The syllabus and guidelines for Project-Based Tasks were formulated based on the findings in the initial study. Modelling was required before the students independently work on the project. Experts evaluated the media. Then, the significance of the development project to the students’ improvement was also seen based on the statistical analysis of pre-and post-tests. Therefore, result of the expert evaluation and students pre and post-test result are major source of the data.Based on three aspects measured in learning media, course materials, teaching, and learning language, the result from the expert evaluation shows perfect scores are dominant in all aspects. The students’ scores also significantly improved in the post-test. It is highly recommended for teachers to combine AR and VR content development properly as the product of project-based tasks as the teaching and learning media.

Abstract

Diabetes is a chronic disease that is considered a significant health problem worldwide. Early detection and prediction of diabetes is a crucial step to enable early intervention and prevent complications. This study aims to apply the Naïve Bayes algorithm in predicting the probability of someone having diabetes. The dataset used in the study was obtained from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. Attributes such as gender, age, body mass index, glucose level, and others were used as independent variables in the Naïve Bayes algorithm to classify them into two groups: having or not having diabetes. From the research results, it has been shown that the Naïve Bayes algorithm can produce a prediction accuracy of 84.6%, 82.3% precision, and 60.8% recall.
