Abstract

This research investigates the use of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method to improve student achievement in social studies learning in elementary schools. The PBL method is a student- centered learning approach where they learn through solving real problems. In this study, qualitative methods were used, including interviews and descriptive questionnaires with teachers. The research results show that PBL improves student learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, analytical skills, and problem solving abilities. Increasing student achievement is one of the main findings of this research. Students who are involved in learning using the PBL method show a better understanding of the subject matter and are able to apply their knowledge in real situations. Apart from that, students' critical thinking skills also experienced significant improvement. They become better able to evaluate information critically and make decisions based on in-depth analysis. Student motivation also increases as a result of implementing the PBL method. Students become more enthusiastic and motivated to learn because they feel more involved and have an active role in the learning process. PBL also contributes to improving the quality of student behavior and education, creating a more positive and productive learning environment. Overall, this study concludes that the PBL method is an effective strategy for social learning studies in elementary schools. By improving learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, and student motivation, PBL can help create a more meaningful and sustainable learning experience for elementary school students.

Abstract

The development of information technology creates very rapid changes in human life. Especially in the field of education, this can be seen from the use of the WhatsApp group application that is used in lectures. Our observations at the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University campus show that all lecturers and students use whatsapp groups in carrying out lectures. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Whatsapp Group on the value of the History of Islamic Civilization course for students of the journalism study program for the 2021/2022 academic year. This type of research is included in the type of qualitative research. The research method used is survey and interview. Our survey is to limit the object of our research study. We use this type of interview to describe student satisfaction descriptively with the use of WhatsApp Groups in the History of Islamic Civilization course. In addition, we also ask for permission from Mr. Zakaria to collect data on the value of journalism students for the 2021/2022 academic year. We also questioned the obstacles to using whatsapp groups in the History of Islamic Civilization lecture. Based on the results of our study, we got a positive result. The average value of the History of Islamic Civilization in the journalism study program gets a B and A grade. This value fulfills the credit score for the Islamic History course. However, we found problems in using WhatsApp Groups. In the form of difficulty controlling students in lecture activities, lack of capacity to send video durations on whatsapp., image quality when sent to WhatsApp becomes bad, and fills cellphone memory because of the large amount of material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine teachers' knowledge level about AI-driven learning platforms in STEM education, to determine the extent to which language teachers apply AI-driven learning platforms in STEM education, and to see whether the level of knowledge, attitudes and readiness of teachers is balanced with its application. This study uses a quantitative and qualitative design or mixed method and applies a correlation approach. The participants of this study involved 33 English teachers in Indonesia. The results of this study conclude that the level of knowledge of language teachers on AI-driven platforms in STEM learning is still classified as intermediate. The application of AI-driven platforms in STEM learning for English teachers is also in the intermediate category. Language teachers have not yet entered the high level of application of AI-driven platforms in STEM learning, although a small number of teachers can reach this level. The correlation between teacher knowledge of AI-driven platforms in STEM learning is directly proportional to their application in learning practices. However, the data shows no correlation between teacher attitudes and readiness towards AI-driven platforms in STEM learning and the application of AI-driven platforms in STEM learning.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is the study of the relationship between mathematical concepts and culture. This research aims to compare findings regarding the geometric forms of West Javanese Angklung and the sound they produce when played, drawing from three previous studies. Specifically, this study investigates the consistency of the relationship between geometric forms and the resulting sound characteristics based on data presented in the studies above. The researcher uses a document analysis method to review and compare data and information related to the geometric forms of West Javanese Angklung and their sound. The research showed that the angklung's length and diameter greatly affect the sound produced when played.
