Abstract

This research presents an examination of the flouting of conversational maxims in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, featuring Anne Hathaway as the guest. The objectives of this study are to identify which maxims are flouted by both the host and the guest, and to explore the underlying reasons for these violations. This analysis employs a qualitative method, with data sourced from a YouTube video. The primary research instrument consists of a transcript of the dialogue between Jimmy Fallon and Anne Hathaway that includes instances of flouted maxims. To identify and interpret the occurrences of maxim flouting, this study utilizes Grice’s theory of the Cooperative Principle, which comprises four categories of maxims: quantity, quality, relevance, and manner. The results of the study demonstrate that the maxim of quantity is the most frequently flouted with (50%) percentage, followed by relevance (29%), manner (14%), and quality (7%). Based on the results, the interaction in those interviews often relies on providing too much information, so the guest will mostly speak. The goal of this flouting is to give a sense of humor to engage the audience's interest in the conversation on this talk show.

Abstract

Sekam padi merupakan salah satu limbah hasil penggilingan padi. Sekam padi dapat dipakai sebagai sumber biomassa yang dijadikan bahan utama pembuatan briket. Penambahan barang perekat pada briket sekam bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai kalor dari briket. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis potensi briket sekam sebagai energi alternatif. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode pirolisis dengan pembakaran menggunakan tungku tertutup dan menggunakan ayakan dengan ukuran 20 mesh. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancang Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor sekam bakar, tapioka dan oli (0 g, 5 g dan 10 g). Analisis briket terdiri dari kadar air (metode Gravimetri), kadar abu (metode Gravimetri), pengukuran kerapatan (densitas) (SNI 013235 2000), pengukuran berat jenis (SNI 013235 2000), kadar zat menguap (volatile matters) (SNI 013235 2000), laju pembakaran (SNI 013235 2000), nilai kalor menggunakan bomb colorimeter Parr 6200 (ASTM D4809). Sampel B (penambahan oli 5 g) menunjukkan hasil yang optimal dibandingkan dengan sampel A (tanpa penambahan oli) dan C (penambahan oli 10 g). Sampel B memiliki kadar air terendah (10%). kadar abu terendah (27,96%), densitas terendah (0,73 g/cm2), berat jenis tertinggi (72,04 kg/m3), kadar zat menguap (volatile matters) tertinggi (72,04%), laju pembakaran tertinggi (0,22 g/menit) dan memiliki nilai kalor sebesar 3024,33 kkal/kg.

Abstract

This activity aims to provide counseling on off-balance sheet financing techniques for accounting employees at STEI Jakarta. The method used in this activity is counseling based on processing materials delivered by competent speakers. The results of this community service activity indicate that participants are able to understand the importance of off-balance sheet financing counseling techniques, share capital and retained earnings for accounting employees. In addition, participants also gain an understanding of managing and organizing financial funding more efficiently and effectively.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the industrial era 4.0 requires elementary school teachers to have digital literacy skills and create technology-based LKPD learning tools. However, many teachers still use conventional LKPD, so they do not support 21st century skills and an independent curriculum with a deep learning approach. This service activity aims to assist teachers of SDN Pasirhalang 1 Sukabumi in compiling LKPD assisted by Whizer.Me applications and training digital literacy skills. The method used is participatory action with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). As a result, teachers' digital literacy competencies increased significantly: the average pre-test score of 58 increased to 82 in the post-test (an increase of 41%). The resulting interactive e-LKPD received an expert validation score of 87% (very valid) and product quality of 85% (good–very good), especially in the aspects of interactivity (88%) and material uniformity (86%). As many as 93% of teachers feel that this mentoring is very useful to improve skills.

Abstract

Pemberian air susu ibu sangat penting bagi tumbuh kembang yang optimal baik fisik maupun mental dan kecerdasan bayi. Masalah yang sering terjadi pada ibu nifas dalam menyusui salah satunya adalah ASI yang tidak lancar atau keluarnya hanya sedikit, penyebab utama kegagalan dalam proses menyusui sering disebabkan beberapa hal yang menghambat pemberian ASI ekslusif. Tujuan umum dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Efektivitas Pemberian Daun Katuk dan Buah Kurma terhadap Kelancaran ASI pada Ibu Menyusui di PMB I Kota Bogor Tahun 2025. Desain penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Study Case Literature Review kepada dua kelompok sampel ibu menyusui sebanyak 6 orang di PMB I Bogor. Kelompok 1 diberikan konsumsi Daun Katuk dan kelompok 2 diberikan konsumsi Buah Kurma. Pengkajian dilakukan pada kedua kelompok di hari pertama, hari ke–4 dan hari ke–7 meliputi pemeriksaan fisik dan evaluasi hasil pompa ASI. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian perbandingan efektifitas kelancaran ASI terdapat perbedaan peningkatan produksi ASI dimana kelompok 1 yaitu ibu menyusui yang diberikan konsumsi sayur daun katuk mengalami peningkatan lebih besar terkait kelancarani ASI dibandingkan dengan kelompok 2 ibu menyusui yang diberikan buah kurma. Sehingga ibu dapat mengimplementasikan pemberian sayur katuk sebagai upaya meningkatkan kelancaran ASI pada ibu menyusui.

Abstract

Electrical Conductivty (EC) merupakan besaran fisika dan mekanika tanah yang digunakan sebagai indikator salinitas tanah dan ketersediaan nitrogen untuk tanaman. EC juga menjadi besaran untuk memperkirakan sifat tanah lainnya, seperti kelembaban tanah dan kedalaman tanah. Konduktivitas listrik tanah dapat diukur karena adanya elektrolit yang terlarut dalam partikel dan larutan tanah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan kalibrasi silang sensor EC pada soil comprehensive sensor tipe RS485 terhadap WET-2 sensor. Kalibarsi dilakukan agar mendapatkan nilai yang tepat dan sesuai untuk mewakili kondisi lingkungan yang diinginkan.  Pada penelitian ini kalibrasi dilakukan pada 40 titik sampel lapangan di Badan Riset dan Teknologi Nasional (BRIN) Teknologi Penerbangan (TEKBANG) Kecamatan Rumpin, Kabupaten Bogor. Hasilnya menunjukkan nilai R square 0.8127 memberikan informasi bahwa hubungan antara sensor dan kalibrator sangat tinggi, kemudian multiple R sebesar 0.9015 mengindikasikan hubungan yang kuat antara sensor dan kalibrator. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa sensor yang digunakan cukup mampu mewakili nilai kalibrator.

Abstract

Corrective feedback (CF) for academic writing is essential to improve writing skills. This study discovers how CF strategies are reinvented in an academic writing synchronous course. Therefore, within the framework of sociocultural and humanistic approaches in education, 71 students from two non-quasi classes in a university contributed by sharing their points of view for the CF they received. Class observations and surveys were conducted to gather data on how the CF was given and how the students perceived it. The main findings indicate that the CF was choral to the class, explicit, unfocused, and mixed of oral and written. Furthermore, peer reviews were conducted as the follow-up activity. Through these CF strategies, most participants have positive acceptance and comprehension. They also approve that their academic writing skills improved after the course ended. Despite a small number of students who preferred a direct one-on-one basis, this research shows pedagogical CF strategies and efficacies towards independent learning that are prevalent and feasible to the continuous online or hybrid learning systems nowadays.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the illocutionary acts that exist in Ariana Grande’s interview. This is a qualitative study with the data collected from the speech by both the interviewer and the interviewee on the YouTube channel entitled “Eternal Sunshine’, Wicked & Tour (Apple Music)”. The data from the interview was observed, transcribed and analyzed using Searle’s theory. The results of this study found a total of 60 data, which contains four types of illocutionary acts used, namely 19 assertive and directive respectively, 18 expressive, and 4 commissive. From the 60 illocutionary acts data, it shows that the most dominant speech act, assertive, shows the emphasis on her strong beliefs and commitment toward the film. The second most dominant speech act, directive, showcases her intention to promote the film and create engagement with the audience. Furthermore, Grande’s use of expressive speech acts show the intimate and emotional interaction and ambiance . In contrast, declarative types of illocutionary acts did not appear in this study indicating a lesser focus on commitments to future actions within the context of this interview. This study on Illocutionary Speech Acts enriches our understanding of public figures’ discourse, revealing their intentions, emotional states, and values.
