Abstract

Teachers have a wide opportunity to develop teaching modules according to their needs, student characteristics and regional characteristics.  However, the reality in the field has not fully run as it should. It can be seen from the teaching modules used that there is no connection with local wisdom found in the area where education is carried out. For this reason, a training is needed through teacher empowerment, especially elementary school teachers in Siak Regency who have high potential to be able to develop teaching modules based on local wisdom. This service program aims to improve teachers' pedagogical competence in making teaching modules based on local wisdom in Siak. The service was carried out to teachers of SDN 004 Buatan II, Koto Gasib District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The method used in this service is the participatory method, which involves the community as a subject in development. Empowerment activities are carried out in the form of face-to-face workshops (offline).

Abstract

This community service activity aims to (1) increase teachers' knowledge about the behavior of Attention Deficit And Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) children and (2) improve teachers' ability to identify and treat ADHD at SD Negeri 90 Pekanbaru. The achievement of these objectives was carried out through training using the methods of lecture, question and answer, demonstration, and practice. The activity began with a focus group discussion (FGD) which was attended by various parties. After the training activities, monitoring or evaluation was carried out by the activity implementation team to see and assist teachers in completing the task of identifying and handling ADHD in elementary schools. The results showed that the community service program went well and smoothly. This program is able to provide teachers with an understanding of how to improve and identify ADHD behavior and how handling actions are carried out. The suggestions that can be made from the results of this community service program are that elementary school teachers are expected to have motivation and always cultivate a caring attitude towards the environment and student learning needs, especially with students with special needs (PDBK). Practitioners and experts, it is hoped that they can always assist elementary school teachers in activities related to the learning process in inclusive schools.

Abstract

Kemampuan menyimak anak di TK Negeri Pembina 2 Kota Pekanbaru masih perlu ditingkatkan, karena masih terdapat beberapa anak yang masih belum berkembang pada kemampuan menyimak oleh karena itu diperlukannya e-book audio bahasa berbasis gamifikasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai adakah pengaruh e-book audio bahasa berbasis gamifikasi terhadap kemampuan menyimak anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Negeri Pembina 2 Kota Pekanbaru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen kuantitatif dengan desain one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu anak TK Negeri Pembina 2 Kota Pekanbaru usia 5-6 tahun yang berjumlah 108 orang. Sampel penelitian adalah 18 orang. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan penelitian yaitu data primer melalui lembar observasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan menyimak dilihat dari skor perolehan rata-rata sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil analisis data Thitung 14,662 lebih besar ttabel 2,110, kemudian berdasarkan uji gain terdapat pengaruh yang cukup signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Negeri Pembina 2 Kota Pekanbaru sebesar 69,26% dengan kategori sedang.

Abstract

Enhancing Early Mathematics Learning Through an Interactive Storybook: A Development and Validation Study. Objective: This research aims to develop and implement an active mathematics learning paradigm for early childhood through illustrated storybooks that integrate fundamental mathematical concepts, namely numbers, patterns, geometry, measurement, and statistics. The goal is to provide a developmentally appropriate platform that encourages engagement, improves math proficiency, hones problem-solving skills, and makes learning more meaningful and enjoyable. Methods: The methodology used is a development research based on the Dick and Carey model. The validation process involved mathematicians, early childhood education experts, kindergarten educators, and media experts. Data were obtained through surveys, interviews, observations, and limited trials involving 14 children aged 5–6 years in Pekanbaru, Riau Province, Indonesia. Quantitative data analysis employed descriptive statistics, pretest-posttest comparisons, normality tests, and homogeneity tests. At the same time, qualitative data were obtained from expert evaluations and instructor comments. Findings: The validation results showed that the developed media met the criteria of validity, practicality, and efficacy, with scores from PAUD experts of 88.00%, mathematics experts of 89.33%, early childhood teachers of 81.54%, and media experts of 88.00%, with an overall category of "very good". In the limited trial stage, an average pretest score of 17.59 and a posttest score of 25.2 were obtained, indicating a significant increase in all mathematics indicators. The normality test (p > 0.05) indicated that the data were normally distributed, while the homogeneity test (p > 0.05) indicated that the data were homogeneous. The t-test results showed that the calculated t-value for all indicators was greater than the t-table value (1.771) with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the media had a significant impact on improving children's mathematics abilities. Observations revealed positive responses from the children, including increased interest, focus, and active involvement. Conclusions: Active math storybooks have been recognized as an innovative learning tool for early childhood, helping educators create a stimulating learning environment and serving as an effective resource for parents. The design, which combines stories, games, and interactive activities, has been proven to strengthen children's math skills. Keywords: active learning design, early childhood, education, mathematics.

Abstract

Social-Emotional Well-Being (SEWB) is an integral part of a child's development that affects learning readiness, academic success, and long-term psychological well-being. This article examines the impact of SEWB on child development and the approaches that can be taken to improve it, especially in early childhood. The method used was a systematic literature review of articles published between 2010 and 2023, focusing on early childhood SEWB. The technique used was a systematic literature review of 11 articles published between 2010 and 2023, focusing on early childhood SEWB. The research results imply that strategies to improve effective SEWB include increasing physical activity, interaction with nature, art education, a holistic curriculum, and a positive emotional relationship among children, teachers, and parents. SEWB is closely related to mental health, which affects social abilities, academic achievement, and the formation of positive emotions and children's character. In conclusion, this literature review confirms that various efforts to improve children's social-emotional well-being, such as physical activity, engagement with nature, art education, a holistic curriculum, and positive emotional relationships with parents and teachers, have been shown to have a significant impact on children's development. These strategies not only strengthen social and emotional abilities but also improve learning readiness, academic achievement, and long-term psychological well-being. Thus, Social-Emotional Well-Being in children is an essential foundation for optimal growth and development and for future success.

Abstract

Background: Classroom Action Research is a research conducted in the classroom by teachers to determine the effect of the actions applied to a research subject in the classroom. CAR allows teachers to actively involve themselves in the development of learning, broadcast the teaching methods used, and find appropriate solutions to improve the effectiveness of student learning. However, in its implementation, many teachers still have low abilities in conducting classroom action research. Method: The research method used in several stages, namely FGD, training and mentoring and evaluation of training carried out at SD Negeri 147 Pekanbaru. Results: The results of the implementation of community service showed a significant increase in the ability of CARK teachers, with an N-gain of 0.71 in the high category. With this community service, it can be concluded that there was an increase in the skills carried out by Elementary School CARK teachers in Pekanbaru City. Conclusion: This activity successfully improved the PTK practical skills of elementary school teachers in Pekanbaru City, which ultimately had an impact on improving the quality of classroom learning and teacher professionalism.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media box game untuk meningkatkan kemapuan motori halus pada anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK-PG LAB FKIP UNRI Kota Pekanbaru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain one group pretest-posstest design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 16 anak. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi menggunakan lembar penilaian kemampuan motorik halus berdasarkan 6 indikator yaitu (1) Membuat garis vertikal, horizontal, lengkung kiri/kanan, miring kiri/kanan, dan lingkaran. (2) Menjiplak bentuk. (3) Mengkoordinasikan mata dan tangan untuk melakukan gerakan. (4) Melakukan gerakan manipulatif untuk menghasilkan suatu bentuk dengan menggunakan berbagai media. (5) Mengeksprsikan diri dengan berkarya seni menggunakan berbagai media. (6) Mengontrol gerakan tangan yang meggunakan otot halus (menjumput, mengelus, mencolek, mengepal, memelintir, memilin, meremas). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata kemampuan motorik halus anak dari 26,56 pada pretest menjadi 42,50 pada posstest. Uji-t menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan, dengan kategori gain berada ppada tingkat sedang. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa media box game berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemapuan motorik halus pada anak usia dini. Dengan demikian, media box game dapat dijadikan salah satu media pembelajaran alternatif dengan kegiatan yang menyenangkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus pada anak usia dini.

Abstract

Literasi Lingkungan anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Negeri Pembina Sungai Mandau Kabupaten Siak masih dalam kategori rendah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perlakuan yang melalui penggunaan Malaynese Edu Comic. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan membuktikan pengaruh malaynese Edu Comic terhadap literasi lingkungan anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Negeri Pembina Sungai Mandau Kabupaten Siak. Studi tersebut memanfaatkan desain eksperimental dengan metode kuantitatif. Sampel terdiri dari 12 anak. Penelitian eksperimental tersebut bermaksud untuk mengukur pengaruh variabel indepenten terhadap variabel dependen. Teknik yang dipilih dalam kajian ini memakai desain pre-experimental dengan draf desain one group pre-test post-test design. Pengambilan sampel dalam studi memakai teknik cluster sampling, dimana seluruh anggota populasi di kelas B2 sebanyak 12 anak. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui lembar observasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan literasi lingkungan anak setelah diberikan perlakuan menggunakan Malaynese Edu Comic. Hal ini terlihat dari perolehan skor rata-rata sebelum perlakuan sebesar 44,44% meningkat menjadi 85,80% setelah perlakuan. Hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai t hitung 20,370 lebih besar dari t tabel 2,179 pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Malaynese Edu Comic berpengaruh signifikan terhadap literasi lingkungan anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Negeri Pembina Sungai Mandau Kabupaten Siak. Penggunaan media ini dapat membantu anak memahami dampak dan pencegahan serta solusi terhadap isu lingkungan.

Abstract

The implementation of learning that introduces children to the concept of numbers from an early age is also very important. Therefore, it is essential to have an engaging activity and be capable of offering comprehension to youngsters in the stage of becoming familiar with the idea of numerals. Angklung represents a heritage Indonesian musical device originating from the Sunda region, crafted from bamboo and produced by the technique of shaking so that the bamboo tubes strike each other to generate tones. Conventional angklung musical play can encourage multiple dimensions of early childhood growth. By engaging in play, youngsters will enhance their abilities and proficiencies in an enjoyable manner. The aim of this research is to portray the procedure and outcomes of angklung instrument performance activities to strengthen the capacity to identify numerical concepts and to examine whether practicing angklung instruments can elevate the capacity to identify numerical concepts for children aged five to six years. The research approach applied is the experimental approach using a single-group pretest design. Specifically, by administering a pretest prior to treatment and a posttest following treatment. The findings of data evaluation indicated that prior to treatment, the mean accomplishment of identifying the concept of numbers among children aged five to six years at State Kindergarten Pembina 3 Pekanbaru was merely 145 (45.31%) out of the ideal score of 320, categorized as beginning to progress (MB). After providing the Angklung Play medium, it achieved a score of 244 (76.24%) out of an ideal score of 320, thus the capacity to identify the concept of numbers in children is classified as undergoing progress in line with expectations (BSB).
