Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explain the effect of learning outside the classroom with a project based learning model on students' critical thinking skills in class XI geography material at Senior High School Negeri 6 Solok Selatan. This study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups, namely the experimental class and the control class. The results showed a significant t-test value of 0.5% or a 95% confidence level with t count compared to t table = 12.89> 2.73 That is means that there is an influence of learning outside the classroom with the project based learning model on students' critical thinking skills in geography material for class XI iis at Senior High School country 6 south Solok . , being able to express their own opinions/be more confident and new ideas emerge. These sections have increased as a result of using the outdoor method in which there are project activities for making disaster-prone maps. These activities allow students to get facts and data that can be communicated in the results and disussion. The PJBL model section experienced improvements in both classes because students practiced what they designed. This research is suggested as an alternative learning for teachers in training students' critical thinking skills in Geography learning in class XI Senior High School.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh konversi lahan perkebunan karet menjadi kelapa sawit yang terjadi di Kecamatan Kampar Kiri 20 tahun belakangan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendefenisikan perubahan konversi lahan perkebunan karet menjadi kelapa sawit di Kecamatan Kampar Kiri dan menganalisis faktor penyebab konversi lahan perkebunan karet menjadi kelapa sawit di Kecamatan Kampar Kiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan angket/kuesioner. Subjek penelitian ini berfokus pada 95 petani yang ditentukan dengan rumus pengambilan sampel slovin dan teknik pengambilan sampel Non-probability Sampling metode Purposive Sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu OBIA (Object Based Image Analysis) dan deskriptif kuatitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Terjadi penurunan luas perkebunan karet tahun 2003-2013 sebesar 43,28% dan sebesar 62,4% pada tahun 2013-2023. Sedangkan perkebunan kelapa sawit terjadi peningkatan 43,17% pada tahun 2003-2013 dan pada tahun 2013-2023 meningkat 38,2%. 2) Umur tanaman karet dan jenis bibit tanaman karet memiliki pengaruh terhadap konversi lahan yang terjadi di Kecamatan kampar Kiri. Di samping itu, faktor lain yang mempengaruhi konversi lahan adalah resiko tanaman karet yang digemari oleh satwa liar seperti: rusa, gajah dan babi hutan. Kata Kunci: Konversi Lahan, Karet, Sawit Abstract This research is motivated by the conversion of rubber plantation land into oil palm that has occurred in Kampar Kiri District in the past 20 years. The purpose of this study was to define changes in the conversion of rubber plantation land to oil palm in Kampar Kiri District and to analyze the factors causing the conversion of rubber plantation land to oil palm in Kampar Kiri District. This study used a quantitative approach with data collection methods used questionnaires. The subjects of this study focused on 95 farmers determined by the slovin sampling formula and the Non-probability Sampling technique using the Purposive Sampling method. The data analysis technique used is OBIA (Object Based Image Analysis) and quantitative descriptive. The results of this study indicate that: 1) There was a decrease in the area of ​​rubber plantations in 2003-2013 by 43.28% and by 62.4% in 2013-2023. Meanwhile, oil palm plantations increased by 43.17% in 2003-2013 and in 2013-2023 increased by 38.2%. 2) The age of the rubber plant and the type of rubber plant seed have an influence on the land conversion that occurred in Kampar Kiri District. In addition, another factor affecting land conversion is the risk of rubber plantations being favored by wild animals such as: deer, elephants and wild boar. Abstract

This article aims to improve the ability of teachers and students to make media maps arise and improve teacher understanding and ability in terms of understanding pedagogical aspects that can be seen from the process of designing a Learning Implementation Plan (LIP) especially in terms of choosing a model or learning method. This activity was held at SMAN 2 using training methods, question and answer, and practice. In accordance with the objectives of the implementation of the activity, it is expected that teachers and students have an increased ability in terms of mastery to make map media arise. Then the teacher can also improve the teacher's understanding/ability in terms of understanding pedagogical aspects that can be seen from the process of designing the LIP especially in terms of choosing a learning model. By carrying out training to improve teacher skills in developing learning media, Geography Teachers are expected to have sufficient competence in terms of designing and utilizing media so that quality learning is created.

Abstract

Dental caries is a major dental and oral health problem in the world. Dental caries is a disease of dental hard tissue that is closely related to the consumption of cariogenic foods or drinks. Cariogenic foods are sweet foods that can cause dental caries. The large number of street food vendors will encourage students to have a habit of consuming street food, especially during class breaks. Based on the results of the initial data on dental caries examination conducted at SDN 1 Jeumpet, from 15 students, the average dental caries was 3.8 in the moderate category. This study aims to determine the relationship between snacking patterns and dental caries in students of SDN 1 Jeumpet, Aceh Besar District. Using the chi-square test with a value of <0.05. The research was carried out at SDN 1 Jeumpet, Aceh Besar District and was carried out on 19-21 January 2022. The population in this study amounted to 102 students. The sample of this research is all students of SDN 1 jeumpet taken using Random Sampling technique that is as many as 50 students. The results showed that the value obtained was p = 0.034. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the pattern of snacking was not good with dental caries status in the high category of 13 students (50%). Meanwhile, a good snack pattern with dental caries status was found in the moderate category, namely 13 respondents (54.2) with a p value of 0.034 (p<0.05). The results of the chi-square statistical test show that there is a relationship between snacking patterns and dental caries in SDN 1 Jeumpet students, Aceh Besar district in 2022. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between snacking patterns and dental caries. Suggestion: It is expected that students will reduce the pattern of snacking on sweet and sticky foods and it is recommended to increase the consumption of fibrous snacks as daily food and maintain dental and oral hygiene.

Abstract

The agricultural sector in Kuranji District is a key economic driver, particularly in Padang City. The objectives of this study are (1) to describe and discuss the level of participation of farmer groups in the agricultural areas of Kuranji District, and (2) to describe and discuss the level of rice productivity in the agricultural areas of Kuranji District. This study used a quantitative descriptive method. The population and sample were members of farmer groups in Kuranji District. The sampling technique used proportional random sampling, resulting in 95 farmer group members. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used descriptive analysis using a Likert scale to measure participation levels. The results showed that the level of participation of farmer groups in Kuranji District was classified as high, with a total score of 3,427, or 80.16%. The average level of rice productivity in Kuranji District was moderate, at 4.8-6.3 tons/ha. The highest productivity was 8 tons/ha, and the lowest productivity was 3 tons/ha.

Abstract

This study conducted an integrated spatial assessment to identify and map erosion and landslide threats, determining high-risk degraded areas in Solok Regency. The methods combined the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) within a Geographic Information System (GIS) framework. The analysis revealed a critical disconnect between erosion and landslide risks. Although 52.1% of the total area (?101,500 ha) was classified as safe from erosion (EHI<1), a substantial portion of this “safe” land-39.4% and 6.94% of the total area, respectively, exhibited moderate to high landslide susceptibility. Conversely, within the 37.1% of the area unsafe from erosion (EHI>1), moderate and high landslide susceptibility covered 24.3% and 7.4% of the total area, respectively. These results demonstrated that landslide triggers are independent of surface erosion processes in many areas, often occurring in locations considered "safe" from erosion due to innate geological and geomorphological factors. This complex interplay necessitates distinct yet coordinated mitigation strategies. The findings provide crucial spatial data for safe land use planning and disaster mitigation in Solok Regency, with a methodology applicable to other vulnerable landscapes, such as post-mining areas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of Sirukam Dairy Farm ecotourism in Sirukam Village, Alahan Panjang, Solok Regency, West Sumatra. This study uses SWOT analysis to describe the internal and external environments that constitute the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of Sirukam Dairy Farm ecotourism. The results show that a dairy farm such as Sirukam Dairy Farm in Solok Regency has great potential to be developed into an ecotourism destination, utilizing the appeal of rural life, the milk production process, and the beauty of the surrounding nature. In addition to dairy farming, there are also other types of farming such as sheep, rabbits, chickens, and many more. Based on the results of the internal research, the strengths of Sirukam Dairy Farm ecotourism are greater than its weaknesses, with an IFAS score of 3.34 compared to a weakness score of 2.58. Meanwhile, from an external perspective, the opportunities are smaller than the threats, with an EFAS score of 3.04 compared to an opportunity score of 3.01. Therefore, it is evident that the opportunities and threats are quite similar. The results of the SWOT analysis suggest that Sirukam Dairy Farm ecotourism is located in Quadrant II, indicating that although it encounters threats, it still has the capability to leverage long-term opportunities by implementing strategies like diversifying attractions centered around education and recreation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Sistem Manajemen Mutu (SMM) dalam meningkatkan kualitas pelatihan dan uji kompetensi Pengadaan Barang/Jasa Pemerintah (PBJP) di Institut Andalas. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan SMM di Institut Andalas meliputi perencanaan pelatihan berdasarkan kebutuhan peserta, pelaksanaan pelatihan yang terstandarisasi, dan evaluasi berkelanjutan terhadap hasil pelatihan dan uji kompetensi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas pelatihan dan uji kompetensi PBJP di Institut Andalas. Setelah penerapan sistem manajemen mutu ISO 9001 dengan pencapaian rata-rata 92%, yang termasuk dalam kriteria tinggi. Selain itu, institusi juga menerapkan prinsip perbaikan berkelanjutan untuk menjaga kualitas layanan dan memastikan kompetensi peserta sesuai dengan standar nasional. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa implementasi Sistem Manajemen Mutu (QMS) berkontribusi secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan kualitas penyampaian pelatihan dan kesuksesan uji kompetensi PBJP.

Abstract

The rapid development of Asia Farm Ecotourism as an educational tourism destination significantly contributes to the stimulation of the local economy and social life. The aim of this research is to analyze the economic and social impacts generated by Asia Farm on the communities. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach through field observations, in-depth interviews, and a literature review from various relevant sources. The results indicate that Asia Farm significantly contributes to improving community welfare through the creation of local employment, growth of culinary SMEs, and the emergence of supporting tourism businesses such as bicycle rentals and educational mini-cinemas. Socially, the destination fosters community awareness of environmental cleanliness, strengthens social interactions, and cultivates a service-oriented culture that is welcoming to tourists. The findings also reveal a mutually reinforcing relationship between economic and social aspects, where increased community income positively affects social stability and vice versa. The implications of this study highlight that sustainable ecotourism, such as Asia Farm, can serve as a model for community-based economic development oriented toward welfare, sustainability, and social harmony in modern urban areas.

Abstract

Pembentukan Pemerintahan Darurat Republik Indonesia (PDRI) pada 19 Desember 1948 merupakan tonggak penting dalam sejarah keteguhan Republik Indonesia mempertahankan eksistensinya di tengah agresi militer Belanda II. Salah satu wilayah yang berperan dalam jalur gerilya PDRI adalah Nagari Halaban di Kecamatan Lareh Sago Halaban, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, Sumatera Barat. Meskipun tidak menjadi pusat pemerintahan, Halaban menjadi lokasi penting dalam mobilitas dan perlindungan rombongan PDRI ketika berpindah dari Bukittinggi menuju pedalaman. Artikel ini mengkaji kontribusi strategis Nagari Halaban sebagai titik singgah dan dukungan logistik selama masa perjuangan PDRI, berdasarkan arsip sejarah, dokumentasi lokal, serta sumber terpercaya. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan masyarakat lokal dan kondisi geografis Halaban berperan penting dalam menjaga kesinambungan pemerintahan Republik. Ini menunjukkan bahwa daerah terpencil sekalipun memiliki andil besar dalam menjaga kedaulatan bangsa.
