Abstract

Pengelolaan sumber daya alam dan lingkungan di Pulau Lombok menghadapi tantangan kompleks yang memerlukan sinergi antara kebijakan pemerintah dan partisipasi masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas kebijakan, menganalisis peran masyarakat, dan mengidentifikasi model pengelolaan kolaboratif yang efektif. Menggunakan pendekatan mixed-methods, penelitian ini menggabungkan analisis dokumen kebijakan, wawancara mendalam dengan pemangku kepentingan, survei terhadap 500 responden, dan observasi lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan seperti RZWP3K telah memberikan kerangka kerja penting, namun implementasinya masih terkendala oleh keterbatasan anggaran dan koordinasi. Partisipasi masyarakat melalui Pokmaswas, Bank Sampah, dan pengelolaan hutan kemasyarakatan menunjukkan kontribusi positif, dengan peningkatan tutupan terumbu karang sebesar 7% dan penurunan laju deforestasi dari 1,2% menjadi 0,8% per tahun. Model pengelolaan kolaboratif yang melibatkan pemerintah, masyarakat, dan sektor swasta terbukti efektif, terutama dalam pengembangan ekowisata yang meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat pesisir sebesar 30%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan terintegrasi dan adaptif yang mempertimbangkan kompleksitas sosial-ekologi lokal diperlukan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pengelolaan lingkungan di Pulau Lombok.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of ethics in sustainable management of natural resources from an Islamic perspective. With a focus on environmental conservation and sustainability of natural resources, this research highlights the ethical principles that must be applied in natural resource management. From an Islamic perspective, the earth and its contents are seen as a gift from Allah that must be protected and used wisely for human welfare and survival. By understanding and applying these ethical principles, it is hoped that sustainability goals can be achieved in managing natural resources for human welfare and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Human life and the sustainability of the earth's ecosystem depend heavily on wise management of natural resources. Limited natural resources and negative impacts on the environment require optimal environmental protection policies. This research aims to identify, analyze and propose strategic steps in improving environmental protection policies to support sustainable natural resource management. The research methodology involves literature analysis, case studies of environmental policies, as well as an assessment of the impact of current policies on the environment and sustainability of natural resources. The results of the analysis show that there is a need to increase coordination between the government, industrial sector and society in formulating and implementing environmental protection policies. In this context, a participatory and sustainability-based approach must be the main basis in developing new policies. The proposed strategic steps include strengthening regulations, increasing public understanding, empowering local communities, and increasing investment in environmentally friendly technology. Additionally, this research highlights the importance of a cross-sectoral approach in addressing complex environmental protection challenges. By implementing these strategic steps, it is hoped that environmental protection policies can be optimized to support sustainable natural resource management. The practical implication of this research is to provide guidance for policy makers, stakeholders and the general public to jointly contribute to maintaining ecosystem balance and improving the quality of life for future generations.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of agroforestry patterns in the Community Forest of Aik Bual, Central Lombok. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry granted management rights for this forest area under the HKm scheme to local communities for 35 years, managed by the Forest Management Unit of Pelangan Tastura involving 260 farmers over 94.45 hectares of land. Agroforestry, as a sustainable land management system integrating agriculture and forestry, is the primary focus to maximize land productivity while maintaining environmental sustainability. The research was conducted from February to June 2024 using a descriptive method to depict the diversity of plant species, strata, and land utilization by farmers. Data were collected through interviews, field observations, documentation, and literature review. Diversity analysis employed indices such as Importance Value Index (IVI), Diversity Index (H'), Species Richness (K), and Relative Density (KR). Results indicated that agroforestry patterns in HKm Aik Bual significantly enhance vegetation diversity, plant structure, and diversity of understory species. Further research is needed to better understand the interaction between agroforestry patterns and plant species diversity in HKm Aik Bual. Consequently, this study's findings are expected to make a significant contribution to supporting sustainable forest management, providing optimal ecological and economic benefits to the local communities surrounding the forest area.

Abstract

Climate change is an urgent and complex global challenge that not only affects weather patterns and global temperatures but also has a pervasive impact on biodiversity and environmental health worldwide. Melting of polar ice and rising global sea levels are living examples of widespread observable physical effects. Additionally, these changes also alter rainfall patterns, intensifying droughts in some areas while increasing the risk of floods and storms in other areas. The complex interaction of climate change and biodiversity exacerbate conditions by causing disruptions to the life cycles of species, facilitating the spread of invasive species, and increasing the risk of vector diseases. Effective mitigation strategies are needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through renewables, maintain and recover natural ecosystems, and strengthen ecosystem adaptation to minimize these adverse effects. International collaboration and policies supported by scientific evidence are key to meeting this global challenge, with the goal of building a more sustainable future for global environment and health.

Abstract

The environmental conditions significantly influence human daily life, especially their reliance on natural resources such as land, water, and air. However, environmental degradation in Indonesia is increasing due to a lack of attention to environmental ethics, driven by materialistic views and economic incentives resulting in a global ecological crisis. The environment encompasses everything that affects the survival of humans and other creatures. Environmental ethics are crucial to maintaining the balance of nature. There are three theoretical perspectives on environmental ethics: anthropocentrism, biocentrism, and ecocentrism. The principles of environmental ethics include collective responsibility, care for nature, non-harm to other living beings, simple living, justice in resource management, democracy in environmental policy-making, and moral integrity. Implementing environmental ethics involves a friendly attitude towards the environment in every aspect of life. Human behavior towards the environment should reflect an awareness of collective responsibility for preserving nature, even though technological advancements tend to harm the environment. Concrete actions from all parties are needed to preserve and restore the environment.

Abstract

The millennial generation, a growing segment of Indonesia's youth, is expected to play a crucial role in the nation's future development. Thus, it is imperative to adequately prepare this resource, particularly by enhancing the quality of their education and health. Knowledge and understanding of health, especially nutrition, are critical for this group as it directly impacts their cognitive abilities. However, many young people still lack awareness of balanced nutrition, leading to various health. To address this, an educational outreach on the importance of balanced nutrition was conducted for the millennial farmer group in Kabul Village. The goal was to equip the youth with knowledge about balanced nutrition, influencing their eating habits and dietary patterns in the target village. The outreach employed educational methods, including material presentations by the team, interactive discussions, and summarizing the discussion outcomes. Monitoring results during the outreach indicated high participant interest, evidenced by numerous questions, particularly regarding parental roles in ensuring balanced nutrition for adolescent family members. Young participants highlighted the challenge of avoiding unhealthy snacks due to the proliferation of culinary trends and social media influences, often leading them to try foods without considering their nutritional value. The balanced nutrition education initiative aims to benefit both millennials and the older generation. Consequently, it is hoped that parents will emphasize balanced nutrition messages to their children within their families.

Abstract

Seeing from today's technological developments, it is growing rapidly, but there are still many people, especially the younger generation today, whose understanding is still very lacking, in recognizing any motifs or patterns in Lipa Saqbe Mandar. From these problems, an image processing application is needed to recognize the Lipa Saqbe pattern that can be used to help facilitate the community or the younger generation, where the camera application will be directed to Lipa Saqbe and will then provide information or identify the name of the Lipa Saqbe pattern or motif. This system uses the template matching method, which functions to match each part of an image with the image that becomes the template (reference). One of the applied methods of the convolution technique. This method is often used to identify character images of letters, numbers, fingerprints, and other image matching applications. This application is built using the Java programming language, and database. The image management process uses the template matching method through a scanning process so that it can identify the name of the motif or pattern in Lipa Saqbe

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran kearifan lokal dalam pengelolaan sumber daya alam berkelanjutan dari perspektif global. Kearifan lokal, yang telah berkembang selama berabad-abad di berbagai komunitas, memainkan peran penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem dan pelestarian keanekaragaman hayati. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur sistematis (Systematic Literature Review) untuk mengkaji berbagai penelitian yang relevan mengenai kontribusi kearifan lokal terhadap pengelolaan lingkungan. Hasil dari studi ini menunjukkan bahwa kearifan lokal tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pengetahuan praktis, tetapi juga sebagai kerangka kerja sosial-budaya yang dapat membantu integrasi dengan kebijakan global untuk pengelolaan sumber daya yang lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan. Tantangan terbesar yang dihadapi adalah konflik antara pendekatan modern dan tradisional serta erosi kearifan lokal akibat globalisasi. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk memperkuat integrasi kearifan lokal ke dalam kebijakan global guna mencapai keberlanjutan lingkungan.

Abstract

Pertanian berkelanjutan telah menjadi prioritas global dalam menghadapi tantangan perubahan iklim, degradasi lahan, dan ketahanan pangan. Meskipun penggunaan pestisida kimia sintetik efektif dalam meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian, dampaknya terhadap lingkungan, kesehatan, dan keanekaragaman hayati menimbulkan kekhawatiran serius. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis posisi dan peran pestisida kimia sintetik dalam sistem pertanian berkelanjutan melalui pendekatan ontologis. Kajian ini dilakukan dengan metode Literatur Review menggunakan publikasi ilmiah dari tahun 2018-2024. untuk mengeksplorasi dampak ekologis, kesehatan, dan sosial dari penggunaan pestisida kimia sintetik, serta membandingkannya dengan alternatif ramah lingkungan seperti biopestisida dan pengendalian hayati. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pestisida kimia sintetik memiliki dampak kompleks terhadap kestabilan ekosistem dan biodiversitas, termasuk penurunan populasi mikroorganisme tanah hingga 40-60%, gangguan pada fauna tanah sebesar 35%, dan penurunan keragaman serangga polinator sampai 40% dalam lima tahun. Analisis komparatif mengungkapkan bahwa meskipun pestisida kimia sintetik memiliki efektivitas pengendalian hama 85-90%, metode pengendalian alternatif yang ramah lingkungan menunjukkan potensi signifikan dengan efektivitas 60-75% disertai keuntungan ekologis substansial. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan transformasi sistem pertanian melalui implementasi Pengendalian Hama Terpadu, pengembangan kapasitas petani, inovasi pestisida alternatif, reformasi kebijakan, dan adopsi teknologi ramah lingkungan untuk mewujudkan pertanian berkelanjutan. Ontological Study of The Role Nnand Position of Synthetic Chemical Pesticides in Sustainable AgricultureAbstractSustainable agriculture has become a global priority in addressing the challenges of climate change, land degradation, and food security. Although the use of synthetic chemical pesticides is effective in increasing agricultural productivity, its impacts on the environment, health, and biodiversity raise serious concerns. This article aims to analyze the position and role of synthetic chemical pesticides in sustainable agricultural systems through an ontological approach. This study was conducted using the Literature Review method using scientific publications from 2018-2024. to explore the ecological, health, and social impacts of the use of synthetic chemical pesticides, and compare them with environmentally friendly alternatives such as biopesticides and biological control. The results of the analysis show that the use of synthetic chemical pesticides has complex impacts on ecosystem stability and biodiversity, including a decrease in soil microorganism populations by 40-60%, disturbances in soil fauna by 35%, and a decrease in insect pollinator diversity by 40% in five years. The comparative analysis revealed that although synthetic chemical pesticides have an 85-90% pest control effectiveness, environmentally friendly alternative control methods show significant potential with an effectiveness of 60-75% with substantial ecological benefits. This study recommends transformation of agricultural systems through the implementation of Integrated Pest Management, farmer capacity development, innovation of alternative pesticides, policy reform, and adoption of environmentally friendly technologies to realize sustainable agriculture.
