Abstract

Several researchers have warned in recent years about the need to teach children to think critically, creatively, cultivate emotional and social skills. Educators have an important regulation in the main emotions of their students. The primary objective was to improve learning by encouraging the acquisition of foundational awareness within the structured curriculum and by stimulating the development of practical and analytical reasoning abilities, resilience and commitment, in addition to technological, emotional, social, and creative skills. This study uses a descriptive-exploratory study which is part of a qualitative approach. Seven elementary school teachers were involved in this research as research subjects. Semi-structured interviews were used in data collection. Content analysis was chosen as the analytical method because it is very suitable to handle qualitative information. The results show a significant increase in the professional and personal growth of educators. Behavior, student-teacher relationships, and the overall atmosphere in the classroom reportedly improved, according to the teachers. They emphasized the need to include learning in emotional development in teacher preparation programs. It is clear that teachers need to receive more training as well as socio-emotional education in the educational process. It can be claimed that influencing the instructor has a domino effect on pupils, while also improving the learning and teaching process.

Abstract

Recent studies have incorporated teacher implicit assessment bias, with some suggesting that such bias could be used to predict student performance in class. The aim of this study was to analyze teachers' daily interactions with their students to identify potential biases in their practice. This study uses a qualitative exploratory field research format. This study involved twenty elementary school teachers as subjects. The data collection method in this study is observation. Each teacher was observed for 4 hours in an exploratory qualitative study. This study applies thematic analysis techniques to find patterns across the data. The validity and reliability of the research includes external validity, internal validity, and reliability. The results of this research suggest that one possible explanation for the prejudice we see is that it is mediated by the different ways in which teachers behave. However, some educators show bias. Bias can be shown in a variety of nonverbal and academic exchanges. Student achievement within the school system can be affected by teachers treating students differently.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has the potential to revolutionize teaching and learning, particularly in under-resourced areas. This community service project aimed to empower 20 primary school teachers in Kecamatan Yosowilangun, Lumajang, with the skills and knowledge to integrate AI tools into their instructional practices. Over a six-month period, the project provided a series of workshops, hands-on training, and ongoing support to enhance teachers’ digital literacy and confidence in using AI. The results demonstrated significant improvements in both teacher competency and student engagement. Post-training surveys revealed that teachers' confidence in using AI tools for classroom management, lesson planning, and grading increased from an average of 2.1 (pre-training) to 4.3 (post-training) on a five-point Likert scale. In-class observations indicated that AI-powered platforms such as Google AI and Scratch enhanced student motivation and personalized learning, leading to a 20% improvement in test scores. However, the project also identified challenges, including limited technological infrastructure, teacher resistance, and disparities in student access to devices. These findings underscore the need for continued professional development, investment in technology infrastructure, and policy support to ensure the sustainability of AI integration in education. This study contributes to the growing body of research on AI in education by providing insights into the practical implementation of AI tools in rural schools. The success of this project highlights the transformative potential of AI for improving educational equity and empowering teachers in under-resourced settings.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic-based elementary schools presents both opportunities and challenges in balancing hard skills and soft skills while preserving Islamic educational values. This qualitative case study explores how AI supports religious education, ethical development, and STEM learning in two Islamic schools in Gresik, East Java. Using semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, the study examines the impact of AI on teacher-student interactions, personalized learning, and character formation. The findings indicate that AI enhances Quranic learning, ethical discussions, and academic proficiency by providing adaptive feedback, interactive learning tools, and automated assessments. However, while AI improves hard skills development, it requires additional pedagogical strategies to cultivate soft skills such as ethical reasoning, leadership, and communication. Educators emphasized that AI must complement rather than replace traditional teacher-led instruction to maintain the spiritual and moral aspects of Islamic education. Despite its benefits, AI implementation in Islamic schools faces several challenges, including technological infrastructure limitations, teacher readiness, and ethical concerns related to AI alignment with Islamic principles. The study highlights the importance of contextual AI customization, comprehensive teacher training, and ethical AI governance to ensure effective and culturally appropriate AI adoption. This study contributes to the growing discourse on AI in religious education and offers policy recommendations for integrating AI into Islamic curricula while maintaining the integrity of faith-based education. Future research should explore long-term impacts of AI on moral education, cross-cultural AI adoption, and strategies for ethical AI governance in faith-based learning environments.

Abstract

In general, elementary schools in the Maarif NU Educational Institution in Surabaya City do not have IT-based learning laboratories so that learning is always carried out in class. In addition, learning is still dominant using conventional media, namely blackboards and books, rarely using computer media. This happens because of the lack of teachers who understand the creation and use of computer-based learning media. Therefore, in an effort to utilize technology in learning, it is necessary to hold training on making e-modules with Book Creator. The methods for implementing this activity are as follows: field observations, analyze partner needs and offer solutions, make system designs, create materials related to interactive and interesting e-modules through book creators, carry out training and assistance in accordance with the title of community service, and conduct evaluation and reflection activities. This service activity was considered very successful. This success can be seen from the analysis of partner needs and the results of the t-test which show a significant value of the participants' competence before and after participating in the training. Thus, it can be concluded that this training and mentoring activity succeeded in increasing the digital literacy skills of the training participants.
