Abstract

This research analyzes the impact of police authority in law enforcement in Indonesia, which includes positive and negative aspects as well as implications for security and social justice. The police's broad powers play an important role in maintaining order and security, but also have the potential to give rise to abuse of power and human rights violations. Research methods include literature reviews, secondary data analysis, and case studies to identify and evaluate the impact of police policies and actions. The research results show that police authority contributes to reducing crime rates and increasing the sense of security in society. However, there are serious challenges such as abuse of authority, brutality, discrimination and lack of transparency that reduce public trust in the police. This research underlines the importance of structural and legal reform within the police, increasing supervision and accountability, as well as legal education for the community. Suggestions include the creation of an independent monitoring agency, the development of an effective complaints system, and increased interaction between the police and the community through collaborative programs. With these steps, it is hoped that law enforcement in Indonesia can run more effectively, fairly and transparently, thereby increasing public trust in police institutions.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and increasingly widespread internet access in recent decades has led to a significant increase in online gambling participation. The ease of access offered by online gambling platforms has attracted a wide range of people regardless of age, gender, or socioeconomic background. However, this phenomenon also brings serious negative impacts, including addiction that can trigger criminal behaviour such as fraud, theft, and money laundering. This research aims to explain the relationship between online gambling and criminal behaviour from a criminal psychology perspective and discuss the social implications and effective prevention strategies. The method used is a literature study, with analysis of various data sources from books, journals, and previous research. The results of the review show that online gambling not only affects the economy, religion and mental health of individuals, but can also damage household harmony and social relationships. This study is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics of online gambling addiction and criminal behaviour so that more effective intervention approaches can be formulated.

Abstract

This research aims to identify factors that influence repeat crime and explore prevention strategies that can reduce this tendency. Through a case study approach, this research analyzes several recidivism cases involving repeat offenders in Indonesia. Findings suggest that internal factors such as weak self-control and intimacy with religion, as well as external factors such as economic problems and negative social environments, play an important role in increasing the risk of recidivism. Criminological theories such as Social Structure Theory, Becker's Economic Theory, Opportunity Theory, and Social Learning Theory are used to understand the phenomenon of recidivism and identify effective prevention strategies. Based on the case analysis, comprehensive efforts are needed from various parties, including government agencies, communities, and non-profit organizations, to provide effective rehabilitation, increase supervision and social control, and provide social support to former drivers in order to reduce the risk of recidivism and strengthen community security overall.
