Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between friendship quality and subjective well-being among students of SMA X Tambun Selatan. Adolescence is a developmental stage characterized by a strong need for peer support, making friendship quality an important factor that may influence adolescents’ psychological well-being. This research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The participants consisted of 130 tenth- and eleventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used in this study included a friendship quality scale based on Parker Asher’s (1993) theory and a subjective well-being scale adapted from Diener’s (1984) concept. Descriptive analysis indicated that most students had friendship quality within the moderate to high categories. Meanwhile, their subjective well-being levels fell within the moderate category. Pearson correlation analysis showed a strong and significant positive relationship between friendship quality and subjective well-being (r = 0.718, p 0.001). These findings suggest that the higher the friendship quality students experience, the higher their level of subjective well-being. Overall, this study highlights that positive and supportive friendships play an important role in enhancing adolescents’ psychological well-being. The results of this research may serve as a basis for schools, parents, and counselors to foster environments that support the development of healthy social relationships among students.

Abstract

The influence of ethics and integrity on police misconduct is an important topic in security and social justice in Indonesia. This journal examines the influence of ethics and integrity on police misconduct in Indonesia, including abuse of power, corruption and human rights violations. This is a serious issue that affects public trust in police institutions. The application of ethics and integrity in police practice and how this influences the level of police misconduct remains a challenge. The aim of this research is to identify types of deviance by police officers and to provide recommendations on how to improve the ethics and integrity of police officers in order to minimize deviant behavior. This research uses qualitative methods by collecting data from relevant sources through literature searches in academic databases and digital libraries. The research results show that ethics and integrity have a significant influence on deviance among police officers. Police officers who have strong ethics and integrity are less likely to engage in deviant behavior. On the other hand, police officers who have weak ethics and integrity are more susceptible to deviant behavior. Therefore, it is important to strengthen the ethics and integrity of police officers through various efforts, such as education and training, leadership, organizational culture, and supervision systems, so as to reduce deviant behavior within the organization.

Abstract

The authority of the police in law enforcement in Indonesia originates from Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police. According to this law, the primary duties of the police are to maintain public security and order, enforce the law, and provide protection, guidance, and service to the community. The police are also granted the authority as investigators, which involves the process of identifying the perpetrators who violate the rights of suspects. The police are also tasked with the prevention and eradication of narcotics, as stated in Article 81 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. Additionally, the police have a duty to Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM). The authority of the police in law enforcement in Indonesia is part of a legal system that influences the fairness and orderliness of society. However, as mentioned in the work of R. Abdussalam, there are instances where the police take actions that do not align with the guidelines set by the law, which can violate other human rights.

Abstract

Mental health has become an essential aspect of life, especially in the face of increasing life pressures. One approach that has gained popularity is self-care, which refers to activities individuals engage in to maintain their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. This study aims to explore the impact of self-care on mental health, particularly in preventing emotional disorders. The research method used is a case study with a literature review approach, examining recent journals related to self-care and mental health. The results of the literature review show that activities such as meditation, exercise, and stress management are effective in reducing anxiety and depression, while improving psychological well-being. Additionally, social support, especially from family and friends, plays a crucial role in strengthening self-care behaviors. This study also reveals that young people, particularly students, need education and support to incorporate self-care into their daily lives. Based on the analysis of five relevant articles, it can be concluded that regular self-care practices can enhance mental health and prevent long-term psychological disorders. Therefore, self-care is an effective strategy for maintaining individual well-being.
