Abstract

Misconceptions about the concept of straight motion are still widely found in physics learning and can hinder students' overall understanding. This research aims to develop a five-tier diagnostic test instrument to identify student misconceptions more deeply. The method of this research is development research (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. The instrument was validated by experts with a feasibility result of 91% and empirically tested with a reliability of 0.756. The instrument was then applied to 35 high school grade XI students. The results showed that 8% of students scientific conception, 9% almost scientific conception, 31% lack of knowledge (LK), 44% misconception (MSC) and 8% not understand (NU). Students' misconceptions were dominated by the concept of average speed and acceleration with the largest causative factor being preconception of 33%. This study recommends that follow-up studies not only identify misconceptions and causes from students but also need to identify causes as a basis for designing appropriate learning strategies

Abstract

This research is meant to analyze students' scientific literacy skills. Scientific literacy is one of the key skills needed to develop a generation capable of solving problems and overcoming challenges, which will support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This research is descriptive research using a mixed method, and uses data collection techniques in the form of scientific literacy tests and interviews with science teachers. The competencies used as a reference for analysis are the scientific literacy competencies developed by PISA, namely: the first competency is explaining phenomena scientifically; the second competency is constructing and evaluating designs for scientific investigations and critically interpreting scientific data and evidence; and the third competency is researching, evaluating, and using scientific information for decision-making and action The results of a research study conducted at a public junior high school in the Bangkalan area, involving 68 students, showed that the students' scientific literacy skills were still in the low category, with many influencing factors, both external and internal to the students. The conclusion of this study is that low science literacy skills pose a challenge to supporting the SDGs. Therefore, a transformation in science learning processes is needed to train students' scientific literacy skills to support the achievement of several SDGs.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to synthesise research on the application of Multiple Intelligences (MI) in digital physics learning within the framework of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The goal is to map trends, highlight opportunities for personalised, sustainability-oriented learning, and identify gaps that hinder the integration of MI and digital technologies to foster sustainability competencies. Method: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Articles were collected from Google Scholar, Scopus, IEEE Xplore, ERIC, and ScienceDirect, limited to peer-reviewed studies published between 2018 and 2023 in English or Indonesian. Forty eligible studies were analysed thematically and through content analysis. Results: The findings show that MI-based digital learning enhances students' motivation, engagement, conceptual understanding, and academic performance. Interactive simulations, video-based modules, virtual experiments, and AR/VR applications offer personalised learning aligned with students' dominant intelligences. MI also supports ESD competencies such as critical thinking, collaboration, and sustainability awareness, though aspects like environmental literacy, social responsibility, and ethical reasoning remain underexplored. Novelty: This review uniquely links the MI, physics education, and ESD domains, which are rarely integrated in prior studies. It emphasises MI's potential to enhance cognitive outcomes while embedding sustainability values into physics education. A conceptual roadmap is proposed to align MI-based digital physics learning with the Sustainable Development Goals.
