Abstract

Oral folklore tradition is a unique phenomenon in West Borneo. This study aims to gain the lecturer's perspectives and reflection toward its implementation as a project-based activity for encouraging university students to transform local folklore into texts in English. It combines Finnegan's instructional procedure, and Gordon's synectic model and the creative state, which has been defined as creative instruction. Multiple observations and an in-depth interview with the folklore lecturer were conducted for this qualitative investigation. The lecturer is recognized as being exceptionally representative of this study employing purposive sampling under lived experience study because of his proficiency and enthusiasm. Having this creative instruction under supervision makes it clear that there is more room for the student's imagination and creativity to grow throughout this project-based activity. It gives them freedom to freely pursue their interests. Without excluding the possibilities of use in areas where there is still local folklore, this creative instruction is specifically suited for regions that are still rich in oral tradition. Further research is essential, nevertheless, as this study does not go into great detail on the perspectives and involvement among various students, the diversity of cultures and geographies, or the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI).

Abstract

Academic writing has been a widely substantial course in higher education as it plays a vital role in cultivating students’ academic writing skills. Drawing on qualitative descriptive study, this study aims to explore the fundamental requirements for academic writing to base the creation of an effective learning framework. Data consisted of teaching materials, semester learning plan (SLP), assessment tools, and guidelines for academic writing from three universities in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. Findings reveal that learning materials and the SLP have both strengths and weaknesses. Despite these, there is diversity in learning and assessment methods. Adopted teaching methods encompass project-based learning, problemsolving, and lectures, while learning assessment includes portfolio techniques, project assessment, and written exams. These findings provide insight into the imperative of academic writing in the academic setting. This serves as a basis for the development of more effective learning methods. Thus, the proposed model for academic writing adopts a project-based approach to improve students’ writing by integrating indigenous wisdom to promote students' character development.

Abstract

In the world of education, the direct impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is the closure of schools and the learning process is carried out online. School closures are carried out to reduce the mass spread of the virus and save the world of education from the loss of quality generations in the future. However, at the same time the development of information and communication technology (ICT) which is very fast and can be a problem solver becomes a solution that learning is guaranteed to take place through electronic learning models. On the other hand, there is anxiety among teachers, students, and parents. They must master ICT devices in the shortest possible time. These opportunities and challenges come together so that adaptability of all parties is needed. The question is how the opportunities and challenges of learning through electronic learning in Indonesia and how the implementation of Indonesian learning during the pandemic is associated with electronic learning. First, the challenges faced by teachers are the willingness to be technologically literate, online teaching materials, internet networks, the availability of laptops, devices, software, human resources of educators and technicians, ICT infrastructure, training support, electrical power support, ICT utilization policy support for learning, and limited sarpras in certain areas; The opportunities are ease of communication between teachers and students, structured and scheduled teaching materials, easy access to teaching materials and discussions in large quantities.  Second, electronic learning in the case of Indonesian learning illustrates that there are still many problems to be resolved related to the implementation of electronic learning.

Abstract

Islamic banking is an Islamic economic phenomenon that has become an alternative and increasingly popular with people around the world, including millennials. Not only to accommodate the interests of Muslims, but also to integrate personal interests and community benefits in a balanced form. Islamic banking in Indonesia is currently experiencing rapid development. As a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia certainly has a very important role in building the Islamic economy. This can be used as a great opportunity by Bank Syariah Indonesia in optimizing its role to support the country's plan to develop Islamic finance in Indonesia. It can be seen that the number of customers at Bank Syariah Indonesia is still far from expectations when viewed from the large Muslim population in Indonesia. This indicates that there are still many Muslim residents in Indonesia who still do not use the services of Sharia Banks in Indonesia. This indicates that there are still many Muslim residents in Indonesia who still do not use the services of Sharia Banks in Indonesia. This can arise by several factors that are the reason why the Indonesian Muslim population is still reluctant to use the services of Bank Syariah Indonesia. The large gap between the Muslim population in Indonesia and the number of customers of Bank Syariah Indonesia is one of the attractions for researchers to conduct an analysis of the Factors Influencing Public Interest in Saving at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). One example is the interest and tendency towards interest in saving, for example a religiously inclined person will choose Islamic banks over conventional banks because based on Islamic religious law which prohibits his people from transacting ribawi (interest). According to (crow & crow 1998) states that there are six that affect interest, namely: income factors, job stability factors, financial goal factors, risk avoidance factors, knowledge factors, social and cultural environmental factors. While the author in conducting this study used descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques used was to conduct structured interviews to the community with the help of research instruments in the form of mobile phone cameras as photo documentation and recordings during interviews with the people of Bandung City which at this time became a source of research information. The results obtained from research conducted by the author to the people of Bandung city resulted in income, risk avoidance / security factors and social and cultural environmental factors are factors for people interested in saving their money in Indonesian Islamic banks (BSI). Keywords: Bank Syariah Indonesia, community, Interest.
