Abstract

The development of science and technology has led to a process of change in all aspects of education which includes students’ competencies such as attitudes, knowledge, and skills. However, in reality schools students tend to be disinterested when conventional learning like lecture method is carried out, the level of curiosity or research on students is still low, and students are not accustomed to learning independently or exploring new information about a theory. This study aims to determine the effect of Inquiry Based Learning on the students’ competence. This type of research is meta-analysis conducted by summarizing, reviewing and analyzing data from several previous studies. The research sample consisted of 22 articles taken from journals that already had an ISSN. The data analysis technique used in this study is calculating the effect size of each article. Based on the research results, two conclusions were drawn. First, viewed from educational level, Inquiry Based Learning is more effectively applied at the high school level particularly to enhance students’ attitudes and knowledge competencies with an effect size of 2.47 and 1.45, respectively; when concerning skill competency, IBL is more effective to be used at the tertiary level with an effect size of 2.19. Second, the Inquiry Based Learning is more suitable to be used in physics subjects, especially to develop attitude and knowledge competencies, with an effect size of 2.47 and 1.30, respectively; while skill competency is more effectively implemented to teach biochemistry subjects with an effect size of 2.19.

Abstract

STEAM is a popular approach used in learning by integrating several fields of science in the form of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. This study aims to determine the effect of size from studies that discuss the effect of STEAM on science learning on learning achievement. The moderator variable consists of the level of education and the distribution of regions. This research is a meta-analysis study by collecting quantitative data to calculate the effect size of each study. Studies were collected through national and international journal research using Google Scholar and ERIC in the range of 2012 to 2022. The effect of STEAM on science learning on student learning achievement had an average size effect score of 0.71 in the moderate category obtained from 20 studies. The distribution of studies discussing STEAM is most commonly found in the South Korean region. The influence of STEAM varies on the level of education dominated in elementary schools.

Abstract

The advent of the 4.0 revolution has had an impact on the education industry. Postgraduate skills need to be able to manage technology, be connected and digitally resilient. Therefore, there is a need to update and find suitable learning models and media to meet these needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness and utility of an inquiry-based e-learning model of e-modules for enhancing student competency. This type of research employs the development of the Plomp model which consists of three stages, namely Preliminary research, Prototyping Phase, Assessment Phase. The research conducted was limited to validity and practicality tests. The instruments used were validity and practicality questionnaires.  The validity become evaluated the use of Aiken's V scale and the practicality was evaluated using Likert scale. Based on data analysis, the results of validity testing by experts on the substance of the material obtained a value of 0.84, visual communication display 0.94, learning design 0.81 and software use 0.78 which is in the valid category. Then the practical results by teachers were 89.71 and by students were 87.28. This suggests that the e-module developed is legitimate and realistic for use in in addition research.

Abstract

The discovery of problems linked to environmentally-friendly behavior and several antecedent factors motivates this study. This study examines the effect of environmental physics understanding, scientific reasoning, and environmental behavior intentions on environmentally-friendly behavior and investigates the mediating role of scientific reasoning and environmental behavior intentions. This quantitative study used an associative approach. The research population was high schoolers in West Sumatra. The research sample was 407 high schoolers in West Sumatra, obtained through convenience sampling. Data were collected by applying a questionnaire. The research objectives were answered with a structural equation modeling approach. In this study, environmental physics understanding, scientific reasoning, and environmental behavior intentions are significant predictors of environmentally-friendly behavior. The results show that scientific reasoning had a mediating effect on the relationship between environmental physics understanding and environmentally-friendly behavior (β= 0.098, t = 1.794, p-value = 0.006). The environmental behavior intention has no mediating effect on the relationship between scientific reasoning on environmentally-friendly behavior (β= 0.045, t = 1.843, p-value = 0.066) and environmental physics understanding on environmentally-friendly behavior (β = 0.018, t = 1.467, p-value = 0.143). This study has limitations where data are only collected in high schools in West Sumatra, so generalizations are limited. Cross-sectional data add a further limitation to it. Conversely, this research augments the current literature on environmental physics understanding, scientific reasoning, and environmental behavior intentions by focusing on previously unstudied environmentally-friendly behavior. Furthermore, this study offers a novel theoretical explanation for the relationship between realizing the mediating role of scientific reasoning and environmental behavior intentions.

Abstract

Effect Size Pengaruh Pembelajaran Berbasis SETS Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Dan Hasil Belajar Siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis effect size pengaruh pembelajaran fisika dan sains berbasis SETS (Science, Technology, Environment, and Society) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa karena pembelajaran Fisika dan IPA memerlukan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam memecahkan solusi baik dalam pembelajaran di sekolah maupun bekal siswa dalam memecahkan permasalahan di masyarakat sedangkan pembelajaran yang tidak berbasis SETS kurang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian meta-analisis. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 20 artikel yang telah dipublikasi oleh beberapa jurnal di Indonesia tentang pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis SETS terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah pemberian kode (coding) dengan metode yang digunakan memakai analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pedoman effect size. Setelah mendapatkan nilai effect size, nilai tersebut kemudian dapat dimasukan dalam kategori effect size yang sesuai. Berdasarkan data yang telah dianalisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis SETS memberikan effect size dengan kategori sedang hingga sangat tinggi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Guru harus menerapkan model pembelajaran yang inovatif dan tepat agar tujuan pembelajaran mudah tercapai. Berdasarkan hasil observasi di SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman, mata pelajaran Dasar Listrik dan Elektronika memiliki peran penting dalam pemahaman ilmu dasar kelistrikan pada siswa namun masih terpusat kepada guru dengan metode ceramah yang kurang efektif dalam menyampaikan materi pelajaran, sehingga dilakukan penelitian dampak penerapan model Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Dasar Listrik dan Elektronika dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penerapan model Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa di sekolah tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu (Quasi Experimental Research) dengan desain Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen menggunakan model Problem Based Learning lebih tinggi dari hasil belajar siswa kelas kontrol menggunakan motode ceramah dan rata-rata peningkatanhasilbelajar siswa atau effect size termasuk dalamkategori tinggi atau berdampak besar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the e-module for electric lighting installations at SMK Negeri 1 Sutera. This research was conducted using a type of experimental research which was categorized into the type of pre-experimental design with the One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The data obtained were analyzed using Effect Size and classical completeness analysis. Attitude assessment using a questionnaire with percentage analysis technical. Based on the research results, it was obtained that the average pretest before using the e-module learning media was 58.1 and the posttest average value was 72.6. From the calculation results, the Effect Size analysis value is 1.069 with the categorization of taste on a large scale. While the attitude assessment obtained an average result of 91.25 for a standard deviation of 12.26.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan belajar peserta didik kelas XI Teknik Instalasi Tenaga Listrik Pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19 Di SMKN 1 Bukittinggi. Jenis penelitian yang penulis lakukan adalah jenis penelitain deskriptif dengan metode kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian dengan memberikan kuesioner dengan skala likert dan dilakukan wawancara sebagai penguat hasil penelitian. Instrumen penelitian disebarkan melalui google form yang memiliki 1 variabel dengan 7 indikator. Kuesioner ini diuji coba terlebih dahulu kepada peserta didik untuk mengetahui valid dan reliabel instrumen ini. Angket penelitian ini dilakukan pada peserta didik kelas XI TITL dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 65 responden dan diperoleh hasil 29 responden dengan hasil kesulitan belajar kategori sedang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran daring pada masa pandemi covid-19 dikategorikan sedang. Beberapa unsur yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar peserta didik yaitu: (1) pengetahuan awal, (2) pemahaman, (3) Minat, (4) motivasi, (5) lingkungan keluarga, (6) lingkungan masyarakat dan (7) lingkungan sekolah. Beberapa unsur diantaranya dengan kategori tinggi yaitu unsur minat, motivasi, dan lingkungan masyarakat. Sedangkan unsur lain dengan kategori sedang yaitu unsur pengetahuan awal, pemahaman, lingkungan keluarga, lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

Kurangnya literasi siswa dapat dilihat dari kurangnya pemahaman siswa mengenai kemampuan dalam penggunaan internet. Banyak dari siswa yang tidak melakukan peninjauan ulang darimana sumber materi ini diambil. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan analisis literasi digital untuk mengetahui pemahaman siswa terhadap literasi digital. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman siswa SMK terhadap literasi digital. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X, XI dan XII SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh yang berjumlah 1790 siswa. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 96 orang yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan Teknik simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan angket kemampuan analisis literasi digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden pemahaman responden termasuk kategori baik pada keempat aspek literasi digital, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan literasi digital siswa kelas X, XI dan XII SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh berada pada kategori baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi ujian online yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk peserta didik SMK Negeri 2 Padang pada kelas XI Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak di mata pelajaran Pemodelan Perangkat Lunak.Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Research and Development (R&D), dengan model pengembangan four-D. Prosedur pengembangan four-D yaitu Define, Design, Development dan Disseminate. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dengan mendekripsikan kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan pada aplikasi ujian online untuk ulangan harian yang dikembangkan. Berdasarkan hasil penilitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid. Aplikasi yang dikembangkan praktis dengan nilai kepraktisan dari respon guru sangat praktis dan respon peserta didik sangat praktis, serta aplikasi yang dikembangkan efektif dengan nilai efektivitas dari respon guru sangat efektif. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa Aplikasi Ujian Online dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk digunakan sebagai alternatif ulangan harian pada mata pelajaran Pemodelan Perangkat Lunak di kelas XI Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak, SMK Negeri 2 Padang.
