Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of flipbook media assisted by the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach in improving elementary school students' learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) based on local wisdom. This research uses a literature review method by analyzing various relevant national and international journals. The findings indicate that flipbook media provides interactive, visual, and flexible learning experiences, while the PBL approach enhances students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Integration of local wisdom makes learning more contextual and meaningful. Overall, the combination of flipbook media, PBL, and local wisdom significantly contributes to improving students’ learning outcomes, engagement, and conceptual understanding in IPAS subjects at the elementary level.

Abstract

Perlindungan hak anak di sekolah merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang aman dan mendukung perkembangan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran sekolah dalam melindungi hak anak di SD Negeri 6 Arjawinangun, dengan fokus pada kebijakan sekolah, sikap dan perilaku pendidik, program-program yang dijalankan, serta persepsi siswa terhadap rasa aman dan penghargaan atas hak-hak mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif untuk memperoleh pemahaman mendalam tentang bagaimana prinsip perlindungan hak anak diterapkan di sekolah dasar. Data diperoleh melalui observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap berbagai kebijakan dan program sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SD Negeri 6 Arjawinangun telah mengimplementasikan berbagai kebijakan dan program yang mendukung perlindungan hak anak, seperti pembentukan Tim Perlindungan Anak dan pelatihan untuk guru. Namun, tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan pelatihan guru dalam perlindungan anak, kurangnya partisipasi orang tua, dan rendahnya sistem pelaporan kasus pelanggaran hak anak. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun ada komitmen yang kuat dari pihak sekolah, upaya lebih lanjut dibutuhkan untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut dan memastikan perlindungan hak anak di sekolah lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Tradisi Kocek Bawang merupakan suatu kegiatan dimana seluruh keluarga, sanak, saudara beserta tetangga berkumpul untuk membantu mempersiapkan acara resepsi pernikah atau acara khitanan yang akan diselenggarakan oleh warga Desa Sungai Buaya. Bemasak atau Ngocek Bawang ini dilakukan sebelum puncak acara resepsi tepatnya satu hari sebelum acara dimulai yang biasanya dilakukan pada hari sabtu jika acara nya minggu dan kegiatannya didominasi oleh para perempuan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi tradisi yang ada di Desa Sungai Buaya sebagai bentuk pelestarian terhadap budaya lokal daerah. Pada penelitian kali ini, digunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif serta teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancra serta studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi ini sampai sekarang masih diberlakukan di Desa Sungai Buaya serta menjadi wujud pelestarian terhadap tradisi lokal daerah agar tidak hilang dan tetap ada.

Abstract

The fulfillment of children’s rights in primary schools is a crucial aspect of creating a safe, fair, and participatory learning environment. This study aims to explore teachers’ meaning-making of children’s rights fulfillment within the context of the implementation of Child-Friendly Schools (CFS). The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The research participants consisted of six teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and classroom observations and analyzed using Miles, Huberman’s, and Saldaña interactive data analysis model. The findings indicate that teachers primarily interpret the fulfillment of children’s rights as efforts to create a sense of safety, ensure fair treatment, and provide opportunities for students’ participation in learning activities. These interpretations are reflected in classroom pedagogical practices, particularly in teacher–student relationships and the creation of a learning climate that supports student engagement. However, the fulfillment of children’s rights in classroom practice faces several challenges, including academic pressure, curriculum demands, and the diversity of students’ characteristics. In addition, although relevant training has been provided, such training is not yet sufficiently contextual and practice-oriented, leading teachers to rely heavily on personal teaching experience in implementing children’s rights principles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of local culture-based IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial) learning in improving elementary school students’ understanding through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The background of this study is based on the importance of integrating local cultural values into the learning process to create contextual, meaningful, and student-centered learning experiences. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach with the Systematic Literature Review method by collecting and analyzing various relevant national and international journal articles related to local culture-based IPAS learning in elementary schools. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of local culture-based learning can improve students’ conceptual understanding, learning motivation, critical thinking skills, and participation in classroom learning activities. In addition, integrating local cultural values into IPAS learning helps students connect learning materials with their daily lives and social environments. Therefore, local culture-based IPAS learning is considered effective in creating contextual and meaningful learning processes in elementary schools.

Abstract

Globalization in the 21st century has significantly transformed every aspect of human life, including education. Today, elementary school students are tech-savvy and well-versed in technological advancements. This presents both an opportunity and a challenge for teachers to integrate local culture into elementary schools to prevent the erosion of local cultural values among elementary school students. This article aims to examine the integration of local culture in elementary schools. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA guidelines. Articles were searched using the Publish or Perish (PoP) tool with the keywords “impact”, “integration of local culture”, “local wisdom”, “elementary school”, “globalization”, and “influence”, yielding 500 articles. These were then subjected to inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 16 articles selected for a more in-depth review. The results of the review indicate that research on local culture is distributed across three phases: early, intermediate, and recent. The integration of local culture in elementary schools encompasses three categories: traditional philosophy and values, regional culture, and cultural expression. Furthermore, the integration of local culture influences student learning outcomes, character development, cultural preservation, and student engagement. Abstract

Teacher performance is a crucial factor in determining the success of the educational process. However, teacher performance is influenced by various factors, including work motivation, work discipline, and teaching ability. This study aims to analyze the influence of motivation, discipline, and teaching ability on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 47 Palembang, both partially and simultaneously. This study used a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The study population was all 42 teachers at SMP Negeri 47 Palembang. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and documentation. The research instruments met validity and reliability tests. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression using IBM SPSS version 25, with classical assumption tests including normality, linearity, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. The results showed that: (1) motivation had a positive but insignificant effect on teacher performance, (2) discipline had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, (3) teaching ability had a positive but insignificant effect on teacher performance, and (4) motivation, discipline, and teaching ability simultaneously had a significant effect on teacher performance. The coefficient of determination test showed an R-square value of 0.490, indicating that motivation, discipline, and teaching ability collectively explained 49.0% of the variation in teacher performance, while the remaining 51.0% was influenced by factors outside the study. Based on the results, it can be concluded that discipline is the most influential factor on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 47 Palembang. Therefore, improving teacher performance requires strengthening work discipline, providing appropriate motivation, and developing teaching skills through ongoing training and academic supervision.

Abstract

The assessment of civic disposition in Pancasila Education requires standardized instruments that are valid, reliable, and practical. This study aimed to develop and validate a civic disposition assessment instrument for the topic Being a Good Citizen. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model. The participants consisted of 35 teachers, 76 students in the limited trial, and 468 senior high school students in the field trial. Data were analyzed using Aiken's V, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Cronbach's Alpha, and practicality analysis. The results showed that the instrument demonstrated good content validity, construct validity, reliability, and practicality, with an Aiken's V value of 0.90, a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.886, and practicality scores of 95.00% from teachers and 83.84% from students. Therefore, the developed instrument is suitable for assessing students' civic disposition in Pancasila Education learning.
