Abstract

Adhenanthera pavonina L is a multipurpose Tree Species Because Almoust tree species because almost all parts of the plant can be used and has high economi value. In supporting the develoment of adhenanthera pavonina L plants, quality seeds are needed in supfficient quantities and on time. The objektive 0f this research is to find out the effect of chicken manure compost on growth of  Adhenanthera pavonina L seedling. This research was conducted for 4 months from April to july  2019 at the BPDS palu-poso , Tadulako University Palu. Anlalysis of compost content was carried out at soil science laboratory of agricultural faculty tadulako university  palu. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) method consisting of four treatments namely :k0= 1000g soil without compost, K1 =1000g soil :50g chicken manure compost, K2= 1000g soil:100g chicken manure compost, K3=1000g soil :150g chicken manure compost. Based on the resulst of the reserch show that soil treatment and chicken manure compost do not have a significant affect on height increase, number of leaves, and root dry weight, and root wet weight. The best Adhenanthera pavonina L plant growth is the treatment of K1= 1000g soil : 50g chicken manure compost  with average plant heigt (3,71cm), plant diameter (1,46mm), number of leaves (2,37 strands) crown wet weight (4,22g), crown dry weight 91,24g), and root wet weight (1,15g) and seed quality index (0,13). The treatment of K1= 1000g: 50g chicken manure compost gives a better aeefect compared to other treaments. Keywords: growth, compost, Adhenanthera pavonina L

Abstract

Chicken manure compost contains high levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium nutrients that are useful for plants, the provision of chicken manure compost can improve soil structure on lands that lack on organicmatter. The research was conducted in may-juli 2019 at the palu – poso bpdas permanent seedbed, tadulako university, central Sulawesi. This research used completely randomized design method with four treatments, namely S0 = soil without chicken manure compost; S1 = 1000g of soil : 50g of compost; S2 = 1000g of soil : 100g of compost; S3 = 1000g of soil : 150g of compost. Each treatment was repeated 10 times so that there are a total of 40 experiment units. Growth parameters observed ware seedling height, stem diameter, number of leavers, wet weight, shoot dry weight and seedling root, and seed quality indeks. The results show that chicken manure compost significantly ofected the growth of glodokan seedling growth. Treatment S1 = 1000g of soil : 50g chicken manure compost significantly increases the growth of glodokan seedling, as follows growth of seedling height (5,68 cm), stem diameter (1,44 mm),  number of leaves (5 leaves), shoot wet weight (2,96 g), root wet weight (0,64g), canopy dry weight (1,19g), root dry weight (0,55g), and seed quality indeks 0,20Kata Kunci: Chicken Manure, Compost, Glodokan, Polyathia longifolia Sonn

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of clustering technique to teach writing descriptive texts. This research was conducted to Year – 8 students of SMPN 01 Semparuk in Academic Year 2017/2018 by administering a written test before and after the treatments. The researcher applied a pre-experimental design. The population of this research was all of Year – 8 students of SMPN 01 Semparuk in Academic Year 2017/2018, and the sample was taken from Year – 8 Class C which consists of 33 students. The data were analyzed by using t-test and effect size formula. The findings showed that the students’ mean score of post-test (72.22) was higher than the students’ mean score of pre-test (44.19). On the other hand, the findings also showed that the t-test (16.94) was higher than t-table (1.697) and the effect size (2.88) was categorized as strong effect. In conclusion, the use of clustering technique is significantly effective in teaching writing descriptive texts. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis which stated “Clustering technique is significantly effective to teach writing descriptive texts to Year – 8 of SMPN 01 Semparuk in Academic Year 2017/2018” was accepted.                                                                                        Key words: Clustering Technique, Teaching Writing, Descriptive Texts, Pre  Experimental Study

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted to find out whether or not journal writing is effective to teach students writing skill on recount text. The writer used pre-experimental design. This research was conducted to the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Manis Mata. The population was the students of class VIII with the total number of the students 172. The sample of this research was the students of class VIIIA which consists of 35 students. It was chosen by using cluster sampling technique. The technique used to collect the data was measurement technique with an essay written test as the tool of collecting data. The data were obtained from the result of pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test was 57.82 and post-test was 61.25. The writer used t-test formula to find out the effectiveness of journal writing. From the calculation, the t-test was 3.3 which was higher than t-table (1.697) in df = 34 at level 0.05. The effect size was 0.55 which is categorized as moderate effect. The findings of the research obviously showed that the use of journal writing was significantly effective to teach writing recount text to the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Manis Mata. Keywords: Writing, Recount Text, Journal Writing
